Our family frequents this theater - or at least we have for the last several years. Its been our choice for the go to cinema. We have developed a trust that we will have a good experience every time. With a few exceptions, this has always been true. However, we purchased tickets for the opening night of Star Wars: The Force Awakens when they first went on sale. On the day before, I called the theater and spoke with a gentleman about their policy for light saber toys (a kids toy). He spoke to a Manager while I was on the phone so I was able to hear the entire conversation. When he asked if we would be allowed to have them, the Manager responded that Carmike Riverstone was allowing them but wed have to keep them turned off in the auditorium. GREAT, I thought, my 10 yo daughter will have a blast enjoying the toy with other Star Wars fans. My partner and daughter arrived at the theater two hours early (they did not offer assigned seats) and waited for about 30 minutes before they started allowing people to enter the auditorium to get seats. They were stopped at the door and my daughter was told she couldnt take the lightsaber inside the auditorium at all. They had to leave the line and put the lightsaber in the car. Frankly, I would have been fine if I had been given correct information on the phone. I get it - everyone is afraid that a toy may conceal something more sinister. But to be told one thing when I did my due diligence and called and to have that changed at the very last minute was incredibly disappointing. I spoke with THREE managers all standing around in the same area about my frustration at being told one thing when I called and then another when we actually arrived, I was told that all the managers were on a call and that the corporate office told them no light sabers in the building at all. I said that was fine but apparently not all of the managers or employees at this location got that message. In addition, as fans do, we began chatting on social media only to discover that there were other Carmike theaters that allowed light sabers in the actual auditorium. It seems that this wasnt a corporate decision at all. I suspect local management made the last minute decision (regardless of what had been communicated to ticket holders who had called) to ban light sabers completely.

Believe all of the bad reviews. This theater is understaffed and the staff they have are not trained and just flat out dont care. This attitude starts with the management and trickles down to the newest hire. The lobby, restroom and trashcans are filthy. One of the theaters has a broken HVAC so it smells musty and moldy. There is a faint smell of urine everywhere. The only saving grace would be the Big D theater which is their version of an IMAX but the movies they run are always geared towards the youngest audiences. They will run a premiere movie like a Marvel or Star Wars for a week and then pull it for whatever animated kid movie comes out. We made the mistake of seeing Jurassic World and in the second week of the run they pulled it from the Big D to the smallest theater in the back of the building. On the way out I ducked into the Big D and it was showing some forgettable animated kid movie and there were maybe 15 people in a theater that can hold hundreds. Poor management, bad attitudes, general ineptitude all the way around. Cannot wait for Cherokee County to green light a different theater option. The thing is, there is a Chik-Fil-A down the road that has the cleanest, happiest, most efficient kids on staff, so you know there are good people in the area, this theater found the worst and doesnt fire them. Vote with your wallet and avoid.

Took my daughters to see Petes Dragon last night, checked the website for show times and ticket prices and made plans accordingly. After having dinner we arrived at the theater only to be told by an angsty young adult that there wasnt an 8 oclock showing. After mentioning the confusion about the websites time listings I was laughed at and told, "No wonder, the website is always wrong!" Might I also add that when we questioned a possible later showing the cashier attempted to charge us 3D viewing prices for a standard show. When I questioned her about the possible mistake she responded with, "Thats just how much it is." rather than correcting her mistake. So we left. This is the third time Ive been to this theater and been met with mismatched show times and sloppy, rude customer service. No amount of new construction and revamping can make up for poor management and deplorable customer service. There are plenty of other theatres within a thirty minute driving range. I would recommend going somewhere else.

Well first off captain underpants aka (Kevin) had to talk to me like a friggen child about getting my 17 year old kids tickets to a rated r movie that I had seen the night before that I had already deemed appropriate. So I then needed to go urinate and he got extremely agitated that i didnt pay for my ticket before urinating in a restroom that was in front of the security line. Walked in the bathroom and it was disgusting. Then I came out and found out that Kevin made me kid pay for my ticket out of his money, so then I ask for a large coke and popcorn that they charge me 15 dollars for. I then get to cinema 10 since I have to watch the movie again, my seat is dirty, uncomfortable and the screen is tiny. Next time we will drive the extra 20 minutes to a better movie theater. Oh yeah tell captain underpants to go shave and bath and maybe wash his clothes before he over charges me for popcorn.

First off they overcharged us for our drinks and popcorn we got a large bag of popcorn and 2 small drinks and paid 20$ and our friends got the same thing but in large drinks and large popcorn for the same price the place obviously wasnt being taken care of properly due to all the trash and food laying in the floor and it did smell weird the employees were acting like they didnt even want to be there the one lady who took my order wasnt even paying attention due to the simple fact that she overcharged us for 3 messily things and due to all this terrible service we will be going to another movie theater and just maybe the service will be better and they wont overcharge us terrible service and employees do better if you want to make a business and a good one at that people wanting to make money but not caring about there customers

Took the wife to see Captain America: Winter Soldier on 4/11/2014. We live in Woodstock on Town Lake and decided to give this theater a shot because it had been years since we visited. We got Auditorium 14 and two things made this an awful trip and will keep us away. 1) The theater smelled like it was old and wet. This became less noticeable as we adjusted but as the type that show up 15 mins early for better seating, it was a slap in the face upon entering. 2) As mentioned we show up 15 mins early and by doing so we were a dismayed to see television commercials on the big screen. Considering we payed over $40 for two for this movie night, it was unacceptable to be forced to sit through the same crappy commercials we are forced to view at home. It is mostly because of #2 that we will not be going back to this theater.
