Houston Frag Guy

Friendly folks and decent fish and dry goods selection. Tanks seem decently clean. They always have mangroves in stock. There coral selection leaves a little something to be desired. Like most LFS they are a bit pushy and sales oriented. Research your purchases before you buy from anywhere. Saks information is a little dated and they dont seem to keep up with the industry. Pricing on live stock is a bit low and on supplies, it seams high.They are worth a look if you are in the area but not my go to place. For corals and fish I would look to FJW or That aquarium Place. Remember, all livestock purchased commercially should be considered to be diseased regardless of where you buy it. Treatments are expensive, laborious and time consuming in a commercial setting. If this was done correctly, stock would be much more expensive than it already is.It is up to the end purchaser not the store to quarantine all purchase, observe and treat for disease.

They sold me 1 sliver dollar fish and 2 angelfish (freshwater). They told me that these fish would mix well together. This was a Sunday. By Wednesday, the Silver Dollar had eaten both Angelfish, and had a go at my Bala Shark as well. I took the silver dollar back on Saturday. The old man that works there didnt want to hear what happend with the fish that they had sold me. I took that Silver Dollar fish there in a bucket, which he snatched out of my hand while I tried to explain what happened, and then he proceeded to tell me that he doesnt give refunds. Thankfully I only spent 13 bucks there, but I wouldnt give these idiots another dime. Even if you have to go to Aquarimworld and get screwed on price, at least they have great service and people there to explain to you what youre taking home and how to care for them. AVOID B&B! As Al B said, the selection there sucks anyway. Go to the Aquariumworld or Fish Ranch II!!!

I would rate them five stars, all the fish that ive got from here are reasonable pricing and so far all have lived. The only problems Ive had with this business is one time I was in there and there were several tanks with dead fish in them which is going to make transferring another fish from there tank to yours even harder, and nothing has a price on it, you have to actually call the owner over and ask them the price of the product which makes me wonder if it changes if they think you are new to the aquarium hobby or not. If they started putting pricing on their products and maybe started paying closer attention to their tanks I would rate them five stars.

The owners are very nice and helpful. I love their enthusiastic of how they want to help you find the fish your looking for and they inform you of everything you need to know of the fish you chose; they give you which fish they can be with, the fish that are not able to be with, and there personalities (example: some fish are very playful while others show lack of interest when varieties of fish are around it). Over all I love going shopping for fish,corals, and invertebrates at BB Fish and Pets. I highly recommend you coming here if your planning to start a fish tank or if you just want to add other types of fish.*BB Fish and Pets is the best* ✨

Ive been here more than a few times & the owners are always very nice / helpful. Its a small mom & pop local store so dont go in expecting to be blown away. The fish selection is decent and the prices are better than most other places. They also have a good selection of brand new aquariums and aquarium with stand packages at fair deals as well. To the reviewer who gave them a 1 star review... are you kidding me?!! Who in their right mind would pay you $700 - $1,000 dollars for an uninspected, condition unknown.. pet Parrott??? Sounds to me they dealt with you in a fairly professional manner considering your ridiculous offer. What a joke.

Wow. Not sure how this place got more good reviews then bad. This was a nasty experience. Couldnt spend more than 1 minute in there and feel bad for the fish. Worse than that was the extremely rude "owner" (Im guessing hes the owner) who acted like we were annoying him by asking any questions. We wont be back for many reasons. We wanted to try and support a small business but we will definitely be going down the road to petsmart instead.

One of the dirtiest saltwater fish stores Ive been to in Houston, good price on fish, but probably going to die coming from their filthy water. Seems most all wild-caught fish, could be reason for short survival. Service had gotten a little better and better coral selection lately. Could be a nice place if the store got a serious overhaul. I have got a few good deals on fish that have lived but bout 50/50.

I dont know if they were having a bad day or what. They seemed rude and like I was wasting there time being in their store. I tried to get his expert opinion on some things and was all but told to go away. This is the third time I have gone in there and the third time I have been treated this way. I will look for another place to fish shop.

Always had good service and good advice. Not the best selection in town, but the best prices on a lot of live stock that is usually in great shape. Gets weekly shipments, so if he doesnt have it ask and get it. Freshwater is a little lacking but reasonable. Great employees with good knowledge of SW aquaria.

Beautiful fish. Little shop but good healthy shop. Shop owner/employees very knowledgeable- helped me with my betta breeding project. Always shop Here for my Aquarium supplies. Saltwater is definitely his thing . Very good selection of cichlids. Has a couple of cool parrots, worth a look!

Always helpful in your aquatic needs. Fish; coral; inverts; tanks; if Sac doesnt have it he will get it. Great place. My daughter loves going to see the fish and Sacs parrot. Highly recommend.

Mr. Sak has some beautiful saltwater invertebrates. Good size specimens, too. Tons of sea snakes, every shrimp you can think of, peacock lobsters, corals, etc.
