Im a movie phanatic and this place is my Mecca. Im not from San Antonio so Ive never even imagined a place like this. I was completely overwhelmed upon first entering from sensory overload of awesomeness. The tickets for movies are average price, depending on the type of seats you get. Theres seats available that vibrate and move with the movie...those a crazy expensive, but worth it for a good action movie. The theater layout is incredibly well thought-out. It is a very open layout that allows for a large amount of foot traffic. the main movie concession is straight ahead after passing through the ticket checking area, but just past the ticket checking area is a gelato/fudge bar (what!?). Ive sampled the gelato and its super good. The main concession has everything that would be typical for a movie theater to have at normal prices, but at larger sizes. Also, the drinks come from a Coke machine that allows you to blend flavors and mix and match sodas. It reminds me of a video game for sodas. To the right, before you get to the concession stand, is a beer-stop/pizza joint area with tables and pretty decent chow. Sushi is also available in this area as well as kabobs. All of it is pretty decent. They even have special trays so you can bring all this awesome stuff with you while you watch your movie. Plus, YOU CAN BRING IN YOUR BEER! To the left of the gelato area is the arcade. The arcade is actually pretty awesome. It is sectioned off. Its not "Dave & Busters good", but its better than most mall arcades and the best Ive ever seen in a movie theater before. I went to a matinee once to see Ted after it had been out for a while. The tickets has VIP written on them, which I ignored until I discovered there are actually VIP theaters. The ticket concierge explained that movies that have been released for a while have a different viewing area for the more mature crowd. I believe theres a 21 year age limit on it to help minimize teenie-bopper antics and screaming kids. Its upstairs (which has a FULL BAR, btw) and physically separated from the main theater area. While the seats in the main theaters are very comfortable, the seats in the VIP theaters are the difference between sitting in business class and sitting in coach on a plane. The seats were a black leather, incredibly comfortable, and extra wide. There was ample leg room between rows and wide plush leather arm rests between the seats. There was also a nice wooden "table" plank on the very front area of the arm rest to act as the cup holder. The theaters are smaller and offer a very different feel to the movie experience all together. If youre going to see a movie, this is the theater to go to!

I would like to start off this review by stating that I have very high expectations for entertainment and enjoying my down time in San Antonio. Mr. Eli Perez exceeded my expectations for my most recent visit to Santikos and is a manager that is committed to customer service. This is an updated review as my December experience was not as glorified and his dedication to ensuring that experience was not repeated must be mentioned. My date and I decided to attend the Star Wars late show last year and had an awful experience (previous review). To my surprise, no one in management responded to my email or phone correspondence about that night which caused me to post to Yelp and Santikos Facebook page. Under new management, Mr. Perez reached out to me and apologized for the experience I had. He wanted me to personally know that he wanted to afford me another chance to enjoy a complimentary movie and a great experience at Santikos. I love Yelp and avenues like it to post good and bad experiences as this experience showed me that reviews do matter. Mr. Perez read my review, took action and also utilized photos I posted of my experience to better the theater as trashcans were dumped (not overflowing) and the bathrooms were very clean and workers were busy stocking toiletries after the movie. Mr. Perezs email and communication showed me that Santikos does care about their customers and his actions put them back on the top of my Movie Experience in San Antonio. My date and I thoroughly enjoyed Captain America and sipped on our refreshing treats. With the change in management, a change in Customer Focus, I can again recommend this theater and ask that you look for Mr. Eli Perez if you need anything. Happy Customer ~Islandgal29412

The Force Awakens is a definite step up from the prequel trilogy (I liked Revenge of the Sith quite a bit and Attack of the Clones somewhat). The focus is back on the storytelling in the search to find Luke before the new form of the Galactic Empire, the First Order, led by Kylo Ren, General Hux and Leader Snoke do, and I like the characters of Kylo Ren and Hux as villains quite a bit. We get some new characters here, and I do like them. I liked the older Han Solo the best, though; when I first saw this film in Kerrville, I thought it was a bit slow until he shows up. Then the characterization, action, and emotion build from there to a great climax at the First Orders Starkiller Base. I also saw this in the D-Box seating gimmick at the Santikos Palladium AVX in northern San Antonio today, and, lets just say, its like riding Star Tours at Disney World/Disneyland for two hours, but not too rough to make you lose your popcorn. That was a lot of fun, and I recommend you see this film, and in D-Box or IMAX if you can (the IMAX is lovely too). Drive 5 hours if you have to. Be sure to reserve those seats online; thats the only way you get them. Good popcorn, love the Freestyle Coke machines, but I didnt remember the gelato being all that good. The building has quite a bit of charm to it, and Starbucks coffee is always a good bet. Update: I also actually liked the french fry basket that I got during the intermission in the 70mm format of The Hateful Eight. Good seasoning (a little on the heavy side, though). The good news is, my sister said that was the best part of the movie. The bad news is, my sister said that was the best part of the movie.

This establishment was OK when it first opened, now it seems like management doesnt care at all. So I bought a hot-dog, bread was stale and dry, tasted like it was out there for a week, the actual dog was dry and tasteless as well (do they buy the cheapest dogs they can find? I think so.. and they charge 9$ for that combo) when I kindly asked the kid behind the counter for some Mayo he looked at me like I was crazy and actually told me that it is in the YELLOW BIN (which is supposed to be full of mustard). Seriously? BTW the mustard bin was empty. If I wasnt running late for the movie I would have asked to speak to a manager. For the drink, I was given the wrong size cup, and the straw I got from the station was filthy and broken. OK so food sucks, thats what I get for buying a hot-dog at a movie theater (that claims to be high standard establishment and charges premium price). When the movie started I realized that there are.. not one.. not 2.. but 3 babys crying and yelling in back rows (under 2 yrs old) not to mention the teenager that kept on kicking my seat from the back (I barked at him and he stopped) After the movie was over, I went to the restroom for #2 3 stalls were out of paper (no I didnt check all stalls, just wanted some TP) (BTW I casually walked into the theater, nobody bothered to check my tickets that were printed at home, the guy was laughing and talking to a coworker about a movie that "sucks"...spoilers.)
