I hadnt been here in so long. My husband and I decided to check it out, after they sent me some coupons in the mail and we found out about their remodel and upgrades. While I appreciate the new ambiance, the cushy reclining chairs, added food and beverage options, and their attempt at providing an uninterrupted movie experience with their glow free zone request, they still fell short on a couple of things. The food has been terrible. I tried the Spinach Artichoke Dip (that tasted like ranch dressing with artichokes in it), the Pepperoni Pizza, twice, (tasted like pepperoni flavored cardboard with bad cheese, both times), and the Strawberry Short Cake (that was more of a white cake with strawberry icing, and not even a whole strawberry). The cake was small and the bottom layer tasted stale from being chilled too long. The glow free zone is not respected by patrons, both movies we went too had people texting throughout the whole movie. I also didnt feel very safe here or like there was much attention paid to us at all. I still think this is one of the easiest movie theaters to sneak in to in San Antonio. (We bought tickets online, and were never asked, either time, to show anyone proof that we paid to be there. It just goes to show they are really more concerned about making money on overpriced food. While we like the attempt here, we are going to stick with Alamo Drafthouse. Yes, they have interruptions with the servers going up and down the aisles, but Ill take the better food, service, and ability to easily report loud and rude patrons and let them enforce their one strike and your out policy. Also, the Bijou is older but better. This would be my fourth pick of theaters to go to that are close by.

OMG! You must be pretty darn bored lady, writing a bad review that long about a cup? Purchase a drink, jdon't want soda? Well pay the price and You can fill it with H20 all by yourself. Its ppl like you who are so cheap that do ruin the chance for a cup of free water, ppl like you who are sitting in a theater eating popcorn they popped at home, popping the top of a off brand soda can, from the dollar store. Ugh! Stay your complaining self at home with Netflix, stop trying to get away with a "free" cup with a lid just to fill it with something we all just paid for. Iccee, soda, just as the previous movie goer stated. I believe in the beginning you did get that cup of water, correct? OMG go sit down, relax or clean the movie restroom if it is so bad, or take the refund go home and Stop! You should be ashamed to admit you wrote that novel to corporate, I hope no one lost their job due to your nonsense. My son and I go there often, never any problems. But I did teach my son manners, how to drink from a cup without a top, ( but we purchase ALL snacks from the theater) including drinks that come with lids, not throwing tantrums in movie theaters, libraries, ect. because plans sometimes do change . You are the adult, the mother. Teach him please lady before he has to go to school and throws a hissy fit b/c his teacher doesn't have a damn lid! Or stay home till he's ready to do big boy stuff ...like sending him in a stinky, filthy Men's restroom all alone ... are you crazy? No need to answer its obvious. Alone? That's acceptable but s cup without a lid isn't? Hummmm.

If I had written this review one year ago it would have been two stars... But wow! They took a run down theater and have gutted it and made it into a fantastic place to eat drink and watch a flick. The bar... They have craft cocktails and beer to the snobbiest hipsters delight, they have regular stuff too. The bartender that I spoke to really has a passion for the craft and was not just willing to work with me, but was excited by the challenge to find the perfect drink to suit my palate. (Mind you it was not busy at that moment, please dont aggravate the customers behind you by totally nerding out with the bartender) The food... You can get your typical theater popcorn and such but you can also get flatbreads, tempura green beans, cheese platters, and these amazing fruit filled pastries. Yum! The theater... Chandeliers, couches and cool memorabilia greet you as you enter the theater but when you get inside, you are seated on a RECLINING couch. I suggest you bring a blanket. Man these seats are the most comfortable theater seats that I have ever encountered! On top of all of that any and all profits from this theater go to charity. How does it get any better than that????? Order your tickets online so you can choose your exact seats... Go! Now!

I love this new and improved theater! I watched guardians of the galaxy in reclining seats and I gotta tell you it was an awesome universal studios-kind of experience. The quality of the surround sound is beautiful and you dont have to worry about people kicking your seat or jumping through legs anymore since there is plenty of space in the reserved seats. They also have a full bar and more food choices, however, they lack the healthy options found in other theaters. With the prediabetic, diabetic, and obese population reaching fifty percent in the next five years here in San Antonio, that is something all theaters should take note on! The only thing available to me when I asked for a healthy option was a roasted vegetable plate. All in all the theater is by far the best one this side of San Antonio and I hope that other theaters follow along in the near future. A quick tip for those who prefer to buy tickets at the box office, dont. Buy them online and reserve your seats early. This theater has done away with ticket clerks and you have to use a touch screen to purchase your tickets.

Never had an issue...The free flowing soda and popcorn butter is a delight! @ Rhonda - We all know the soda machines are not behind the concession counter; the soda machines and icee machine is located where customers fill-up for themselves; Im sure if you bought a cup for the $6 that it is, no one would have a problem filling it with water or giving you a top. As you give into your sons tantrum by not going elsewhere, why wouldnt you give into his tantrum if he changed his mind and wanted soda, an icee or punch in that free/discounted cup you wanted? To know employees can purchase a cup is irrelevant - they are an employee, that is their benefit...not yours. If your kid has the tendency to spill liquids on the floor: 1) maybe you should hold the cup and help him manually, 2) hes not ready for a movie theatre, or 3) bring a sippy cup, hes 5 years old Im sure they wouldnt care if you had a sippy cup of water in your purse. Managers were right to offer you a refund...if you couldnt comply with their policies, then why would you need to be there.

I would give the theater itself a 5. It is beautifully designed and seating was great. I could even cuddle with my husband. However, the staff looked miserable. The blonde guy behind the concession stand looked absolutely miserable. We had not been to this theater before and did not know all the food or specials offered and he looked at us like we were idiots. Not one employee smiled in the entire place. Saw a few smiles from the bartender to his customers but no one else. It really looked like everyone hated to be there and they were angry. We will go back for the comfort but we will go to dinner first and then watched the movie. We were planning on eating dinner there but changed our minds after buying popcorn and a drink feeling like idiots.
