I am actually a former employer of Cluster Spires. I worked as a "beer cart girl" as well as trained inside. I was only there for 6 days before getting fired because of a women named Deb. I was trained on how to open by my manager Ed, and the next time I opened Deb was there and kept getting nasty with me the whole day because I wasnt doing things her way. Naturally when someone is taught something by the boss, they do it the bosses way. Ed never told me that I was suppose to take orders by this old woman. Also, naturally I got very upset because I was new and was having a nasty women in my face when I was trying to do my job. Ed seemed like a nice enough person, until he was a complete jerk and had me work 2 more days before he even told me I was fired because of rumours I supposly had said. Pretty much I got fired cause of this horrible woman Deb. Mind you I have never been fired in my life, and luckly I have kept my old job and go to school. The place is gross, fruit flys and ants are in the kitchen as well , among other problems. I will never give that place anymore business again!

Absolutely horrible experience. They were starting everyone off on 10, which is no big deal at all. We saw a marshal on the first two holes...great, but then down hill from there. The pace was miserable, and we finished the front 9 in 2 1/2 hours. When we got to the 1st tee box to begin our back 9, there were two additional foursomes ahead of us. We asked the starter what was going on, and he said the one group had a tee time. I asked then why not start them off on 10 like everyone else, and he simply said "No". Then the next foursome had stopped for lunch. No, they didnt stop and grab a hot dog and beer, they stopped and had a leisurely long lunch. We waited 35 minutes to start our bag 9. So after 3 hours and 5 minutes, we had officially completed only 9 holes. At that point, we complained in the pro shop, to a solid "Oh well" mentality, and we left and went and grabbed lunch somewhere else. $50 for 9 holes of golf in over 3 hours. NEVER AGAIN! I will say the staff at the grill were extremely nice, and "prompt".

Played on a Wednesday around noon, I guess we were wedged between the group regulars there. These guys all wanted to finish their rounds in 2 hours, werent even putting out. The marshall was hounding our group the entire time trying to get us to hurry up, we finished in 3:50 but apparently thats not fast enough. We were forced to let a group play through even though they never waited once thru 6 holes. The marshall bascially said he knew all the guys and we needed to get out of their way. We also used golf now to book the time which the desk guy admitted to us later was "red flag". We also played the black tees because this course is really short, that also irked the staff for some reason. We will never go back, the course is a closer to a dogtrack than a real course anyway.

Great with a caveat! The course is generally speaking in awesome shape, especially when they are preparing for tournament qualifying events. The rough is thick and the clover makes balls hard to find. The course is located right in the heart of Frederick, MD and the staff is extremely friendly. The thing that is annoying is that on Thursday mornings they close their driving range until 10 AM or so...despite it being light at 5:45 AM. Ive walked in multiple times and folks other than me have wanted to hit the range before work, but couldnt do it and they didnt have time to play actual holes, bummer. Why not open the range at 8 AM and get the maintenance out of the way earlier...?

My hat off to the course superintendent, the course was in phenomenal shape (early April 2017). The fairways were lush and green. Oh, that doesnt help with the roll of your shots, but the grass was thick and lush with no divots to play out of. Our foursome remarked often about the conditions being grand. Pace of play, for a mid-Wednesday morning was just over 4 hours, very acceptable. The check-in and starter personnel were friendly, lots of fun banter. Will be back for sure. Great senior rates, very nice walking course if that is what you choose. It was a grand no hassle day of golf. Solid food choices for a lunch afterwards. It really was a 4.5 star course.

Very bad experience. There was no water on the fairways, or on the greens. Had to do cart path only. It slowed the game down greatly. I dont know what they were talking about when they said everything was wet. I had 2 wheels of my cart off the cart path so other carts could pass on the transition from the front 9 to the back 9 and the starter said, "cart path only". With that kind of attitude, I can go to many other golf courses. Im finished with Clustered Spires.

The course is ok the staff are horrible!!! Kids basically. If you have and incident and talk to management about it they will say its not there issue. Spend your money at a course that cares about there clients. The general manager basically could care less just that you paid to play other then that hes no help. be careful here they have young thugs out there trying to bully people and be annoying the general manager didnt care at all. Play at your own risk!!!!

Clustered spires is a course that can fit any golf game that can bring you both your best or worst round. A generally friendly track aside from hole 5, 8, 9, and 16. Generally good conditions, greens have been on the slow side for early 2017, but warmer weather should change that soon. Per experience, great conditions in the summer and this course holds many fun and noteworthy tournaments.

$60! No, this place is not worth that much. Id say maybe $30 on a Saturday. Of course what do I know.... I rew up playing here and it was extremely cheap back then. I guess one day they figured they were ready to host a TPC and started charging $60.

Best afordable golf in the area. Bill keeps fairways and greens in top shape. Friendly staff, Scott is one of the most approachable PGA pros you will ever meet.

This lady was rude and mean. She also wasnt even kind to us when we came to freaking pay her to play she was a snobby brat. Never go there!

Nice course. A few neat holes that make you think a bit. Water not too much of a factor. Rolling greens make long putts challenging.

Its a decent course but needs to be better maintained. Ive went several times and the grass was no at a proper height.

The coarse was in good shape considering it is February. You can see how well cared for the greens are.

A little pricey for a public course but still worth the challenge. Course is always in great condition.
