The best movie theater experience you will ever have. This place is fully dedicated to preserving the moviegoing experience in fullest form. With technology and rude patrons causing so many disrutions in multiplexes these days, this theater chain is dedicated to ensuring these issues do not plague their theaters. They have a very strict no talking or texting policy and will not hesitate to kick you out (without a refund) if you cause disruptions after being given a warning. The theaters are clean and comfortable and are conveneiently constructed so you can enjoy food and beverages while you watch your film. They have an order system where you write what you want on your ticket and can view your menu with a red light that dimly shines under the table. The staff are well-trained to take orders and bring out food without you ever noticing or being distracted by them. They are pretty much like ninjas. The food is a little pricey, but that is usually expected from any theater as that is how they make a majority of their profits. I will say this... compared to the low-quality mass produced food you get in theaters, this place actually makes it a priority to serve decent food. The pizzas are the best. Burgers are good. Fries are awesome! They also offer a lot of special dishes that are on the menu that are themed after the movies that are being played. For example, when Deadpool was playing, they had phenomenal chimichangas and an amazing pancake shake. I was really sad when they left the menu after the film completed its run. The staff here are amazing! I have actually made a lot of great friendships with the staff. They are amazing people! I actually show up a little early to my movies just so I can take a few minutes to talk to them and see how they are doing. The special programming is also amazing. Any nostalgic movie from your younger days you enjoy gets regular special screenings here. This place has given me the chance to see so many movies on the big screen. The special events such as movie parties and sing-a-longs are awesome! Always a good time. What I really love as well is that the preshow that plays on screen 30 mins prior to the movies start time is specifically hand picked and created by a creative team. They dont bore you with 30 mins. of consumerist ads like multiplexes do. All in all, this is a movie theater for movie lovers!

I understand that CEO Tim League likes horror movies and this was a horror for me. Went to Alamo Drafthouse Richardson for the second time ever and in two consecutive days. Thursday was great so I drove way across town to see another film on Friday. Thirty minutes in, I decided this is my new favorite theater as the food was very good and reasonably priced and all else was well. Then the horror started. My waitress told me I could not "use" my phone. The "use" of my phone was in holding it screen down 1" off the table so I could see my salad well enough to stab at it with the fork. She was very surly and I told her NO, I would not give up on seeing my salad. I knew (and later confirmed) that the one couple also sitting in the back row had not complained and, given the phone was held lower than the front table rail, it was impossible that anyone else in the sparsely populated theater could see it. So then the manager, initials "LA" stood on the sides for a very long time until I guess she finally was able to see the tiny amount of light escaping to the side out of my face down phone. She then demanded that I turn the phone off. I asked her full name and she refused to give it to me. She repeatedly and loudly threatened me with expulsion for talking in the theater- to her, asking for her full name. I had already turned the phone off as I was by then done with my not chopped chopped salad. I applaud Alamos policy of not allowing talking and texting, but I am appalled that this manager chose to ruin the experience of a grey haired customer who just wanted to eat his dinner under the dim light of a cell phone screen. As in many cases, zero tolerance apparently means zero common sense. Both the waitress and manager encounters occurred at key moments in the plot development of the film, so not seeing supper was not the only loss. If youre over 50 and have less than Superman night vision, stay away from Alamo Drafthouse. Or maybe go and get kicked out for trying to see your meal and we can all get together for a class action ADA lawsuit since they are not reasonably accommodating to older patrons with vision issues.

The concept is almost a carbon copy of Studio Movie Grill with some abysmal differences: 1) The chairs are very VERY long rows with only 3 access points, two on the sides and one in the center of the row. However if you are in the middle of the row you will have a very hard time getting up to the bathroom. To make matters worse, the space between the seat and the bar that serves as a table is very narrow and that makes it even more difficult for people to take or leave their seats in the middle of the row.Tall people must stand up to allow others to pass through, this disturbs everyone around you. 2) In order to place an order you must WRITE your order on a piece of paper and stick it in a specially designed piece of aluminum when you are ready to order. EVENTUALLY, one of the waiters will see it, come to pick it up, orally confirm your order and take it to the kitchen to be fulfilled. It took 45 minutes from the time I put my "paper"up to the moment they brought my food. 3) If you forgot to order something (like a side of ranch, napkins)or you want a refill...you need to write it down and wait for the waiter to see the paper up and repeat all the process again. 4) The price for the tickets and food is more expensive than Studio Movie Grill. Alamo will charge you $4.00 for a soda (with unlimited refills that will never come). 5) The food was good, but not good enough to pay $12+ for a small pizza 6) The seats (supposedly new) felt really worn out and the place has not been open for a full month. 7) They have a very strict "no talking during the movie" policy that goes to waste when your server has to orally confirm your order (written on a piece of paper). 8) The alleys are VERY NARROW! At the end of the movie, you struggle to get out of the theater because the alley is wide enough for two people! Imagine if there was an emergency! I definitely DO NOT recommend the Alamo draft House. I go to the movies 2-3 times a month and I can confidently say that this place is not remotely close to Studio Movie Grill. See for yourself.

I really love this theater. Anytime something has gone wrong, Ive contacted customer service, and they have gone through the effort to make it right! Folks, if you think youve been wronged by the theater, contact them!!! Ive seen a lot of movies here - some of them quote alongs (these are so much fun because they usually give props out, and having a lot of other people in the theater quoting along just makes it that much more fun), some sing alongs (same as the quote alongs!), some special events (Bondthology), and some just movies. The food is pretty great; the beer and drinks are made very well and arent watered down in the least (if you feel slighted, write it down). The service is pretty friendly, and the guidelines to receive service are easy to follow - just put a card up in front of you with whatever you need/want written on it. They wrap things up 20-30 minutes before the movie is over, so be sure to get your orders in before then! Otherwise, youll be without it, and you may feel slighted (this is actually policy so that by the end of the film you can just get up and go since youre already paid up). I also enjoy going to the Taproom and chatting with the bartenders (they also serve the full menu). There are a lot of friendly people working there, and they arent afraid to smile and say hey. If you dont know where your theater is, look up! Its all up there on the ceiling, clearly marked, and if you can catch a server in the hall, they can point you in the right direction. Dont feel offended if they dont notice you; theyre trying to get to their tables where movies are already rolling and are trying to give their people good service. Overall, this is an awesome location, and I prefer it to any other movie theater that is this style.
