A great place for gamers in general, and an absolute must visit for retro gamers especially. They carry games and accessories for everything from the Atari 2600 to the current console generation. Everything is used, but it is all tested and they have a very generous 30 day guarantee on everything they sell. I have had to return a few things in the 8 years or so that I have done business with them, and they have always stood behind their guarantee. The store has undergone major renovations in the last couple of years, which is nice, but their stock and atmosphere have never really recovered. Still a great place, though. I love to go in there and browse, and almost always come out with some new treasure.

Ive been going to the D-Pad for five years now and these guys run the best business for video games. The owners run the store everyday. I have had pretty bad experiences at other game stores but these guys are the real deal. They worked with me on my trades and definitely gave me a great value for games I wanted to buy from them. I will always take my business to the D-Pad because they are always willing to make the customer happy. If youre a collector or just curious about retro video games, you HAVE to come here; they have a whole room dedicated to arcade games and have a Nintendo gamecube and NES system set up for people to play.

Best vintage gaming store Ive ever been too. I love coming here. The workers are kind, and very helpful. And you can tell they truly care for gaming. They replace every battery Im every cartridge or gameboy game that requires save. They sell their games for a fair price, and never rip you off. And they have most all the games youll be looking for, and more. Its a great store, and I hope it never goes out of business. Because Ill buy old school games from here over other places any day

The D-Pad gets most of its charm and goodwill with people because of its selection of current and popular games as well as nostalgia related gaming products. This makes it unique from the common GameStop. The aforementioned events that they hold are certainly something to think about as they arent being offered elsewhere. All in all, perhaps with better employee training and as a chain (more locations) this place could warrant a 5 star, or at least more solid reviews.

The Dpad is a locally-owned video game and card store. They buy and sell vintage video games along with new video game systems. If youre looking for a vintage video game theres a good chance they have it. They also sell things like Magic and Pokemon cards and do tournaments throughout the week. The store is co-owned and usually one of the two owners is there in the shop throughout the week.

I called to ask if they had a huge selection of Xbox one games I live thirty minutes from the store so to be lied to really irritates me. Dont go if youre looking for Xbox one games they seriously have one 1 and half rows of them. I get that its more retro but to be lied to and told they have a huge selection when I live pretty out of the way is what upset me.

Great privated owned retro game shop ! owners are hard working ,positive and cool store has side room with arcade andc tables where regular are and role play games are held regularly ! if in New braunfels definitely check this store out and FYI little crashers pizza is right next door ahem... anybody say buy a game AND a pizza in one stop oh yahhhh!

Fantastic prices. There are some great deals to be had here if you look around a little. Being a smaller footprint store, their selection is less than competitors. However, they have a second room now dedicated to arcade cabinets. Their friendly service evokes a welcoming atmosphere. I always stop by when I visit or go through New Braunfels.

The best game store Ive ever been too everything about it is awesome im always 10x happier when I leave even when I dont get anything or spend twice as much as I planned I get all my games here except for the occasional pre order anyone who has any interest in games should stop by at least once to see what they can offer you

Ive been buying at the d pad for many years and they are excellent! Great customer service, knowledgeable staff, and down to earth people. They have a great selection for a small store. They have two rooms, one room for games to buy, and an arcade room as the second room. All in all excellent store and excellent selection!

the d-pad is a great place for every game enthusiast, whether your new school or old school, youll find what your looking for here. every time i walk in, the store owner couldnt be more helpful. i my self am an NES enthusiast, any game i want can either be found here our can be procured.

Dpad is probably one of the greatest places for old school or new school gamers. Personally, the place caught my attention with all the super nintendo gear and the chill game room with couches and chairs. Owners are great and always down to help.

nice people. very approachable staff. honest about videogames and make great recommendations while not trying to oversell you on anything. they dont always have what you want in stock but its a used game store. prices are definitely fair.

Very knowledgeable staff and awesome selection. They helped me determine that my N64 was done for, but were quick to find a solution. I didnt want to lose my blue N64, so I purchased a gray one and they placed my blue shell over it.

Great place to buy MTG cards, and old video games. The MTG scene is on point. They have weekly tournaments and great prizes depending on where you place. The staff is friendly and helpful.
