A ONCE PROUD & NOBLE GOLF COURSE: Back in the day, when Riverside Golf Course was known as The Austin Country Club, this tract was a gem. Long gone are those days of yesteryear, the City of Austin handed over this parcel to ACC. and it began eroding into what it is today, a pitiful excuse for a golf course, with greens looking worse than a mangy old junkyard dog with fleas. To top it off, the green fees are comparable to a 4 star golf club. Ive played many rounds of golf on the courses in and around this city , for more than 50 years, this course, by far, was the biggest insult I have ever played on, but, today I had no choices, since its a holiday and most all other courses were full up or having tournaments. I hadnt played this course in over a year, so I had no idea it had deteriorated to this point. When I checked in this morning, I asked how were the greens, was expecting to hear back what most of the other courses reply, "greens healing up nicely after punching and over seeding & sanding", that they were rolling nicely.....NOOOO, this guy says greens were terrible almost all were lost to a type of unknown fungus. Dang, I thought, they couldnt be all that bad, but, this guy even understated what horrible conditions these greens were in. In addition, the "sand traps" were just a mud hole overgrown with weeds and grass, hadnt been raked or had additional sand in forever. The pins didnt appear to have been moved in days, grass was growing over the cup lips. 10th green didnt have a flag anywhere in the area, I drove up from Tee Box to look, ended up sticking a rake from "Bunker" into the hole so we had something to shoot at. So, needing my golf fix for the day, our threesome mucked our way around the course, taking whatever it was giving, which wasnt much. Played golf, didnt enjoy the round, will NEVER return again, to this venue, unless I see or hear of a complete turn around of this operation. If I can figure out how to insert pictures, I will do that to show the blight that has engulfed the once great layout....

In good condition for the price. Riverside used to be pretty rough years ago, but their professional and friendly staff/management has really turned this course around. I suspect the consistent rainfall over the past year has helped to keep things green, and theyve made the most of it. The Tin Cup Grill also deserves a shout-out. Thanks yall!

Based on the price $35 for a Saturday morning round, its nearly a 5 star. The new mgmt has done great things. Ive played this course 20 times over the past 10 years and its twice as good of shape as Ive ever seen it. If you havent been in a while, check it out.

Absolutely the worst golf course I have ever seen in my entire life. I play a lot of golf and have seen a LOT of bad courses, but this place takes the cake. Literally could not even believe my eyes, it was that bad. This "course" is a travesty. DO NOT GO HERE!

The staff here really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. You can tell a lot of work has been put into this golf course to improve the experience, and for the price it can not be beat. Ill be coming back.

Been coming here for several years, it had its rough patch with mgmt but now ACC has taken over and they are striving to bring this course back. Its looking nice!

Great value, fun track, and very friendly staff. No driving range - only practice green. Really good breakfast tacos too!

Fast and easy, cheap, but not in the best of shape. They are striving to bring this one back.
