Played Morris Williams today (10/2011.) This is a a great short to medium length course frequented by some better players who play at a good pace. The fairways are in great shape. The tight elevated greens are hard to hit and can currently be somewhat firm. I had two short iron shots that bounced off the greens. Not really sure how much better I could have hit those shots, but I think thats just the nature of the dry austin weather right now. The greens do not break much despite the crazy breaks on the practice green. Note that the practice green is also sloped severely, which is weird because you only run into a couple of severe slopes on the course. Overall, a very nicely maintained municipal course.

Im happy to give this public course a 5 star rating. Comparatively to other public facilities around the state it has very good conditions overall, and very good consistency of greens. Played it for the first time in May 2015, and several times since through the summer and fall. Always a good pace of play and consistent course upkeep, good to very good driving range, and very good to excellent short game practice area for a public use facility. Highly recommend to all my friends traveling to Austin as a golfing highlight. Noticed one very negative review, and this user must have caught someone having a bad day. Highly negative employees has not been my experience at any point among numerous visits.

This is my first time out to MoWilly since the clubhouse was remodeled. The clubhouse itself is really nice with a large porch with lots of rocking chairs overlooking the putting greens and holes number 10, 1, 9 and 18. The course itself has been cleaned up quite a bit with little changes to most of the holes. The greens are young and still need to mature but were nice and smooth. Pace of play was great with no waiting on Saturday morning...tee time was 9:15. I definitely recommend a round at Morris Williams.

Course is in really rough shape, greens are all burned and muddy, several fairways are all punctured, cant tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. I could see this being more possible at the end of the summer, but in mid April no way! Luckily I only paid $30 for the round, but in my opinion, that was $15 too much. Until they get this course in better shape, I will not be coming back.

The renovations theyve done to MoWilly are phenomenal! The clubhouse is great with a large snack bar with plenty of seating and tvs. The staff is good. The course was in great shape! Greens are in great shape also. (I separate course and greens) Only thing i miss is having airliners coming in for landings so low at the old airport that you felt you could hit them with a well placed wedge!!!

The course and clubhouse have been completely updated. The course is centrally located which was good. This was the first time I played the course and it was (despite my score) an enjoyable experience. The greens were fast. Players moved along nicely and the marshalls were on the course and courteous when we drove off the cart path. For the price you cant go wrong.

Ive only been to their driving range but its one of the best in the city. Its cheap and easy to get to from just about anywhere. Maybe Im lucky but every time Ive gotten at least two full buckets of range balls from others finishing up and getting out of there. All in all I can hit balls for 90 min for under 10 bucks every time. Cant beat it!

Pros: Good course. Been playing here for a couple years. Its beginner friendly, but there are some challenging holes. Cons: Bad attitude from the people behind the counter. I got more smiles from the guy cleaning the cart, and the girl selling drinks. This course needs to replace their staff more than a remodel.

An easy but fun course for the amateur golfer. It is priced appropriately. I have never had any problems with their staff or with other golfers being impolite or rude. Overall, it is a great Muni-Course and I will play it for years to come.

Great course for the price. In the winter the greens get a little shaggy, but during the spring and early summer they play very well. Course is challenging from the tips, but you can score from the Blue and Whites just fine.

Awesome municipal course. Challenging holes, yes fairways are achievable, and the greens are big. Im a new golfer, and shot a 92. The price was reasonable at $30 around 3pm on a weekday. I will definitely be back!

Pretty nice for a municipal course, and conveniently located. My only gripe is that they dont have lights on the range, so it closes at dark. This makes it tough to practice after work after the time change.

WORST customer service ever. Talked to a person in the Pro shop over the phone and he sounded like hes having a very bad day, but I dont understand why I should be the one to be dealing with his emotion.

Players?? Sucked. Rude worker and burgers that tasted like fish. AND they dont make their own ranch anymore. He picked up the bottle of hidden valley ranch from the FLOOR. Do Not Recommend.

Fun course and taken care of. Only hiccup was the few holes that are next to a construction site or rock quarry. Lots of jack hammers and loud beeps. Only affected about 3 holes though.

The best city course in Austin. Always in good if not great shape, greens are solid and roll true, and reasonably priced.
