I have been going to this theater for over 25 years now. I have always had a good time and a wonderful experience. I went in with my family to see Harry Potter-Part 2" with my kids. We were all really excited about seeing the conclusion to the series. When I walked up to get my tickets, I asked for 3 adult tickets to see the movie with one of the tickets to be military. The guy at the ticket counter, Dave, got really rude and abusive and wanted to know my kids didnt have their military IDs and why they didnt live with me. (My kids are adults and are not in the military). I tried explaining this to him 3 or 4 times but he kept cutting me off. I eventually got my tickets but the experience kind of ruined the night. I didnt say anything then but, tried to contact management later. They were very indifferent, wouldnt talk to me, and could care less about my complaint. All I wanted was an apology and the refund of 3 tickets for the experience. Not too much to ask for considering the circumstances and the supposed value they place on customer service. Will I go back? Probably.....but I will always harbor bad feelings for the theater and the management.

I used to love this cinema. In fact i would go here exclusively. I usually see 3- 4 movies a month. More often in the summer and winter often seeing movies multiple times. However these days it is extremely outdated. EVERY other cinema in Cincinnati has leather reclining seats, and almost all have a bar, the ability to take your drink into the theater. The AMC has everything I just mentioned plus a Dolby theater. The Cobb offers dinner at your seat while you watch the movie and seats in other theaters that move with the movie called D-BOX. Even the cheaper cinema in Northgate mall Xscape has the leather reclining seat and a couple premium audio theater. The Regals are also updated with better seats. Literally i could name every cinema in Cincinnati and everyone of them but Showcase has the leather reclining seats usually more stuff on top of that as well. While i would like to start going to showcase again I WILL not pay the same amount or even save 3-5 dollars per ticket for an inferior experience. When this cinema gets updated to the standards of the area i will be glade to return until then consider me a customer lost .

We were at this theater on Wednesday, June 10th for a Cirque de Solei One Drop performance and Theater #2, where the showing was aired, reeked of stale urine. I notified the manager and several Springdale ushers walked around the theater before the show and confirmed there was a strong urine odor but could not pinpoint where it was located. I just cannot believe I was the first person to complain about this terrible odor as it was very apparent that it was OLD. Others in the theater remarked about the stench though Im not sure if anyone else took the time to notify management. I am upset as they didnt even try to spray deodorizer in an attempt to make MY movie going experience just a tad better than having to endure the smell of stale urine. You bet I wont be going back to this theater again anytime soon and Ill be sure to check the theaters odor level and request a refund then LEAVE rather than sit through that stench again!

So Ive never really had a horrible experience here, but Ive never had a knock me out of my seat awesome either. Its a theater. it shows movies, it has concessions. And it has water fountains and ample amounts of stalls in the bathroom (Hey thats important for girls dangit!). What more do you want?! Sometimes I wish their concession lines were a little more... organized? with it being out i the middle like it is you never know where to stand or where to go, and it seems more like trying to get a drink at the bar, than trying to get in line for popcorn and pop. But yes, the one big major drawback, is trying to get the heck out of here. Ive searched for a back way, a side street, something! To no avail... Not that I wont try again to not spend 25 minutes trying to get OUT of a parking lot that took me all of 3 seconds to get INTO. But it does its job.

We went to see a movie on Thursday, and on our way home, we heard this old belligerent woman dropping the F bomb at a manager. She appeared to be drunk out of her mind. Dropping the F bomb and yelling in the lobby area. From looking at the reviews, it looks to be the Pierce lady who was swearing at the manager and the employees. It doesnt seem that she remembers that part of the story. I am surprised that she remembered any part of that event, since she was drunk. The staff did a great job at remaining calm, taking her crap, and then requiring her to leave when she started her swearing tirade. I love this theatre. And it is a shame that people like her give it a bad name.

This theater has only been getting better over the last few years, while its closest competition, formerly Rave and now AMC West Chester in Union Centre, has only regressed. The picture and sound quality is fantastic, especially in the main IMAX theaters. There are six digital kiosks and two ticket counters they can open up when needed, so you rarely have to wait long to get your tickets. Showcase has their own app, so you can buy tickets (without a "convenience" fee if you have their free Starpass card) from your phone. You can also use your phone as your ticket, but their scanners can be a little picky, I suggest getting a paper ticket from a kiosk.

The movies are cheaper than AMC but the seats are just dreadful to sit on through the entire movie, I just couldnt get comfortable. And the guy who was selling the food had an attitude like he hated his job, I dont care if he does but if Im being nice to you reciprocating that behavior wouldve been nice. And the prices for the food is just ridiculous my husband had to pay almost $12 for a medium Icee (even though we asked for a large) and a bottle of water. Next time Im going to AMC where I can recline my chairs and Ill just buy my own Icee from speedway that costs less than a dollar. Never again.

Its close by and thats a Plus, seats can use some updating. Talked with someone named "Dave" on the phone to see what the difference is with the IMAX theater and the regular ones. He gave me a rundown of 3 things (bigger screen, better sound and asigned seating) very quickly and abruptly and then said, "there are only 3 of these in the State; Is that it? " I said okay and he hung up on me. Guess Ill be going to the West Chester AMC from now on. Its more state of the art.
