Ambler Theater is not just a place to catch a movie; it's a community hub that offers a unique and enriching cinematic experience. With its focus on independent and critically acclaimed films, reasonable pricing, and excellent customer service, it's no wonder the theater has garnered such positive reviews.
I grew up and lived in Glenside. I went to Glenside weldon, then Abington High school district. When we were kids our family would come to Ambler theater to watch Christian movies. This theater is one of the ones we would visit. Highway in jenkintown, Keswick in Glenside, and Ambler theater, they hold a space in my heart. I still visit them to this day. Ive lived in Ambler now, for 12years, and I still enjoy these old theaters. The building structures and the near by restaurants. Wonderful towns to grow up in. I take my grand kids to them now. Lovey
How can anyone not love the Ambler Theater? The prices are better than the big chains and there is such a great atmosphere in the building. They play great artistic movies also, not just the block buster standard movies at the big theaters. The have a great membership program for a yearly fee (50 bucks per person or less) and tickets are 6 bucks per members, with free events sometimes. If you are going to the movies 8 times a year or more, it is worth it! Concessions are a good price and they have hot tea and fancier chocolates, too!
I just wanted to take moment and thank the team at the Ambler Theatre. April & KC helped us at TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy, facilitate an amazing fashion show in one of the theaters. Students, families and guests who attended the show were amazed with the venue and the entire staff were such a help. Thank for helping us host such a successful event!
Old historuc theater playing less mainstream blockbusters (more independent or smaller but excellent films) kind of like The Ritz without having to schlep to the city. Its a smaller theater w maybe 3 screens and a quaint historical feel. Large metered lot nearby for cheap parking and plenty of restaurants immediately in the area add to the appeal.
A beautifully maintained older theater that distinguishes itself by running more independent movie fare on its screens. Dont go here for the latest blockbuster release, but you will find most of the movies are critically acclaimed. If you really enjoy movies then theres no reason not to have this theater in the rotation if you live in the area.
This cooperative-owned, non-profit theater is exceptional in that you can walk in to any film they may be showing, and youll see a quality production. The staff and the viewing conditions are excellent. And the prices of tickets and concession items are reasonable .
One of THE most successful renovations of the old traditional movie theaters. Great comfortable seats, accomodating staff, and terrific projection and sound. Also, agreed that film selection is generally of high quality, at a par with the Ritz chain in Philly.
Had a blast with my daughters for the Oscar Party they had. Excellent time was had.....great value, and love the Main theater.....hoping to go back often this summer and fall....and certainly for next years Oscar Party again.
Along with the Ritz in Old City, this theater is one of the few places to see art house films. A great place to catch a flick. The event nights, in particular the annual Lebowski-fest, are the real gems of this venue.
Great place to see a band... The sound was great, the view fantastic and the food was great too. The As put on on an Awesome show. Thanks guys. I havent been there since it was the 23 East (I think!) but Ill be back.

The ambiance and seating are great. The variety of art house mobies as well as classics make it a nice divergence from your usual movie chain. Terrific staff and a feeling of community add to the experience.
For folk in suburbs., We have our Ritz theater right here. They show 1st rate flms. Only problem, very popular weekend movie nights ( go early ). Also someone stole umbrella from under my seat. !
Just a perfect throwback. I live in Ambler and this is one of the many local businesses I happily throw money at! If a film is playing here that you want to see, see it here, you will not regret it!
Wonderful experience! The theatre has been nicely restored, concessions are reasonable, and the movies are thought-provoking and relevant -- everyone should go and support Amblers downtown!

So glad they saved it! Great place to catch really cool movies, with great coffee and chocolate instead of my usual popcorn. They have a great Facebook site with events and upcoming movies.
Thank you for keeping this movie theater alive. Well curated movies. I appreciate the human size popcorn portions and the ginger beer. Plenty of parking in the lot across the street.
I am a member because I want to support this wonderful theater. Projection is always excellent. Small town feel. Great staff. Inexpensive concessions. The BEST!
The Ambler Theater is a delightful experience for any moviegoer. First Run, Indie and Foreign, as well as older movies, brought back to life on the big screen.
I love this quaint theatre in Ambler. The facility is beautiful, and they offer films that I adore but wouldnt have seen otherwise! Thank you, Ambler theatre!
Great classic movie theater lobby interior, with more modern comfortable seating in the theater itself. Great prices on the concessions, and friendly staff.
Have been going here since it opened 2002. The films are always intellectually stimulating, entertaining and no teenagers. A venue for thoughtful people.
Wonderful movie theater showing quality films, serving interesting beverages and snacks. A community treasure. Soon to be joined by the Amber Co-op.
Historical feel - wonderful setting to enjoy cinema. Both great modern digital projection as well as gorgeous ornate style theatre. Must go!
We enjoy the great selection of films each week. We also enjoy the restaurants in the village of Ambler for dinner before the film.
Love this place. Friendly staff, good movies, inexpensive snacks and tickets. This place makes ambler a great community town.
Love the retro theater. Great movie choices, comfortable seating, sensibly priced drinks and snacks. Favorite theater.
Quaint little theater, with an old time feel. Shows films you may not get to see in the mainstream theaters.
Love this theater. Much better experience than the bigger corporate theaters. Less commercials before film.
Everything I like. Movie selection. Hollywood night in summertime. Friendly. Not in an industrial park.
Great place to see an inexpensive independent or foreign film. Always smiling faces and good service.
Costs less than a commercial theatre PLUS there are far fewer annoying ads before the feature!!!
Great selection of films. Upgraded seating to match new digital projection. A joy to visit.
Great venue. Interesting selection of movies. Not just the ones you see playing everywhere.
Great theater & staff, affordable and near great dining in Ambler. Highly recommended.
Always love the Ambler. Terrific selection of films in a comfortable, vintage theater.
Just a lovely old theatre. The seats are surprisingly large for an old theatre too.

The highest Quality theater experience , I dont go anywhere else for a movie.
A really nice, clean theater to go and see independent and acclaimed films.
Great small theater. Always very clean, nice staff and high quality snacks.
This theater takes you back to what movie theaters were like 50 years ago.
