Seemed nice when we arrived later in the evening exhausted from our travels. We checked in to get our room and found it had a king size bed with two fold out bed/seats, which apparently was an upgrade. We originally booked a room with two queen size beds. 1 for mom and dad, the other for our kids. We had paperwork confirming this. At first not a deal breaker, but we tried the next day to move because my son said fold out bed was lumpy and made his neck sore. No rooms available. So we ride this one out. Next, Room service only came by 3 times in 5 days. We ran out of TP and towels and on the 3 time that they did stop by to check on us, it was 7pm. At 12pm, I was awoken by a knock on our door by security asking if I had an issue and called. He asked me twice. Nope, not our room, but do you have any towels or coffee? Tile floor was grimy and didnt seem like it was mopped in a while. My feet kept getting dirty/sandy if I walked with no socks on, and I had to keep wiping off my feet before I laid on the bed. When we checked out, I asked if they offered a military discount and they informed me I was already getting the reduced internet rate, but yes they did offer a military rate. Confused because I booked the room online just like anyone else, so my military rate is the same rate as the general public. This means, NO YOU DONT OFFER A MILITARY RATE! I understand and its ok but dont say you do. The INN part of resort is kind of tired and could use some simple sprucing up, maybe a grounds crew to walk around and pick up empty water bottles and other discarded trash, trash cans in BBQ area were spilling out and totally full. The suites side are a lot nicer and maybe where they are getting the 4 star ratings from. BTW, boat rentals at the marina are for the residents/property owners, and are actually a boat club requiring a yearly membership and the other water sport company on premises that had jet skis and boats only rented a small number available, first date available was April 9, 3 weeks after our travel dates. Oh well, money lost, so we resort to shore fishing. Kids caught fish on pier though. A 30" Cobia in first try. 2 Spanish Mackeral on the 2nd day. Get some shrimp from marina and some small hooks to catch some pin fish from dock. Buy a large bobber, weight rig and switch to a bigger circle hook and use pin fish as bait, cast off the right side of pier, away from the jet skiers near beach and wait. Youll catch fish, even under the tip of pier is a good snook spot early in morning. Sunset grill made good rum runners and beach is nice. Look up Crabby Gus crabbing excursions in Ruskin. He made our trip and the Fish House, on weekends only, is a locals joint, must try. The area has a lot of nice family things to do. Manatee viewing area is close by. I dont mean this to be harsh, Its nice, but could be a lot nicer, given some small attention to detail or TLC. Also, Check the reviews, its seems like a bait and switch, with one business is called "The Inn at Harbor View" and the other called "The Resort Club at Little Harbor"., confusing to vacationers, mixing up review ratings etc. If you read my review, there are a lot of similar experiences and comments from other people. Reviews of 3 stars or below have experiences like mine, 5 stars and I dont know where these people stayed by reading the review. Seems they must of stayed somewhere we didnt get to see or experience. I want to stay there.

We stayed at the inn for a Nov vacation. Mixed feelings about the stay. I knew when we booked that the resort was a ways from Tampa and St. Petersburg so I wont complain about that. It is about 50 min to an hour from both cities with some St. Petersburg beaches being an hour & 20min away with light traffic. Pros -Amazing sunsets every night!! -Beautiful sunrises and views of St. Petersburg -2 pools for our kids to swim in -Private location away from touristy stuff -Sunset Lounge had good food, but expensive. Band played Friday night and was fun. -Park playground, small but fun -Good experiences with resort staff -Lobby and guest check in looks very nice - nice deck area overlooking the grounds. -Nice landscaping in some some places. -Fun views of beautiful boats in the harbor. -Private beach -WiFi worked great - also no problem with cell reception as noted by other reviews. ? We have Verizon. -Fair price for a room with 2 twin beds right on the bay. Cons -Dirty floor in room. White tile, but filthy. Had to use wet towels to mop the floor because our feet were turning black after just checking in. -Stains on the decorative pillows - gross. -Rusted out closet door frame made for dysfunctional use and unappealing view -Rust colored ring around sink always left brown water stains in sink- gross! -3 outlets in the room and not one would hold our phone chargers tightly - so loose they just fall out onto floor or counter. -Chair in room screeches so loudly on the tile that you can hear every neighboring room 24/7. -Door screeched when opening so no one could leave the room quietly at night. Poor neighbors...WD40? -Grounds maintenance was a mixed bag. Tennis & basketball courts were unusable due to debris and overgrown. -Old school air conditioning loud as heck -Beach needs grooming. Dirty and debris everywhere- sticks and dead plants litter the sand. -Ruskin, FL is a dump. Limited or no shopping, unless you like smoke shops and dollar stores. Trailer parks everywhere and very industrial. While not the resorts fault, it is all part of the package.

This is the second time we paid for a vacation here, Last year was great but this year is horrible. We enjoyed fishing off the seawall that was right behind our executive suite last year. This year we were told that the rules have changed and that no one can fish there. If we had known this we would not have booked 2 weeks here. We still have 10 days left and can twiddle out thumbs every evening or watch the people at Hooks Bar get drunk down farther on the seawall and wait for them to fall off the seawall. This is supposed to be a safety issue but the resort makes money from Hooks and the drunks. I guess it is okay to fall in or drive away drunk from a boat parked at Hooks but guests are not trusted to enjoy fishing. This is supposed to be an issue that was recently decided by the Board of directors, but I noticed that the Board hides. There are no names on the website of board members or e-mail addresses to contact them. If they want to make rules that are not listed and rules that are not posted on the website or posted by signs on site they should at least be available to unhappy guests. We can fish from a pier that has no shade and no lifeguards. The swimming beach also has no lifeguards so how can there be safety issues for guests regarding the seawall. This is ridiculous. They are not concerned with safety anywhere else on the premises. Also, the advertisement on the website shows a family fishing off the beach. THEY NEED TO REMOVE THAT PICTURE. Fishing from the beach is not allowed either. This is a great place now if you just want to get drunk and party. Dont come for just relaxing and kicking back fishing unless you want to stand in full sun on a pier in 90+ degree heat with no shade. If you fall off the pier, you better be a great swimmer. No one will be there to help you.
