We went Saturday afternoon around 2:15 after the Cleveland International Film festival. We went to the Muse bar to order drinks and food. When we arrived total of 4 people in the place. We sat down and waited for 15 minutes for someone to wait on us. Nothing. Went to the bar to order drinks and finally a waiter came buy. I told him we would have more people coming form the show and I would be ordering food as well. Our group filtered in over the course of 1/2 hour. I ordered several rounds of food and drinks. Food came out prompt but drinks were very slow. Nobody ever cleared the tables of the dirty plates or empty glasses. And the waiter that we did have never bothered to take everyones order. I ended up clearing all the plates and glasses with my sister. One would think that when you see the guest clearing tables and stacking them on the bar you may want to get help. So after spending $700.00 dollars, of which they added 20% gratuity, in about 1 1/2 hours we left to the valet. Valet $12.00 dollars, free if you had you ticket stamped. Do you think anybody in the restaurant offered that? Nope. Asked the valet to call restaurant/bar and tell them I just spent $700.00 dollars and see if they could waive that and she said the ticket has to be stamped. I understand they are going through a remodel, which is even more of a reason to be extra diligent and proactive. Spoke with manager when I was checking out. All I got was Im sorry. Front desk lady was very rude. My wife has a medical condition and they were not very accommodating at all. When my wife said she needed a plug for her nebulizer the lady pointed at a floor plug and said theres one there. A bellhop eventually took her to a private room where she did a breathing treatment. Also had an issue with the air conditioning unit. When we called the front desk and explained there was an issue, they said somebody will be right up. Over a half an hour later, I went to the front desk and ask again and they finally took care of it. I asked the repair man how many times he was notified about our air unit and he said that was the first. In the morning I asked for a late check out and the lady told me theyre not doing late check-outs that day. Never heard that one before! We have stayed at the Ritz several times this year and this is the first issue we have had. Unfortunately this is the stay I am reviewing.

I stayed two nights at the Ritz Carlton on the 11th and 12th of March in 2013. I reserved a king size bed and to my dismay opened my room and it was a double. That was not a big deal until I realized the quality of the room was Holiday Inn at Best. There was debris on the floor next to the bed, the walls had dust all around them and the bottom of the door to the bathroom was rotting away. In addition to this I was charged for two red bull energy drinks that I did not drink. I called customer service they looked into it and charged me anyways, basically calling me a liar. Worse hotel stay I have ever had, and I am a travel agent. I took pictures of the room it was so bad and I wish it would let me attach them.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HoteIRaven. com Booked a room here and they had the cheapest rates around... The service was impeccable, as usual and the Mothers Day brunch was spectacular, as usual. The valet parking was outstanding, as usual however my only pain point was an undisclosed Service Fee of 23% added to the bill and highlighted. When I asked the waitress if that was the gratuity she said it wasnt. So, by the time you add 25% for gratuity and pay the service charge (like its room service) youre actually paying an additional 48%! There are a lot of great restaurants in town with the same service, quality and youd be saving 23%...

One star for photos only. What a fabulous impression of a luxurious stay. Interesting that they dont mention that all beds except the 14th floor is loaded with pet dander since there is no restrictions on animals sleeping in the same beds that all guest stay. This is totally insulting to guest. You know they dont wash and bleach the mattresses and pillows, nor do they pitch them after each use. Who wants to sleep in a bed of feces, fleas, ticks, saliva, bacteria, slobber, worms eggs, etc. What about those who have allergies? What about those who dont want to sleep in a dog beds? This is what you get for over $300?? Bull!!!

Not the best or worst Ritz Ive stayed at. The small check-in desk makes for a very cold welcome and a long wait when I arrived. I must be spoiled by the other location because I wasnt offered water on arrival or (if I get lucky) champagne. The room itself was nice and bed was exactly what I expected; amazing and comfortable. Slept like a king. Pizza and desert room service was okay. I believe the dough might of came out of a bag. Room was missing coffee condements. Over all the staff is friendly, the updated rooms are nice and very clean. However, I will probably try the Renaissance if Im ever back in town.

Overall our experience was alright. It was our first time staying here. The room was decorated nicely with comfty beds. The sevice from anyone you meet was good and friendly. Food was pricey and not the tastiest. They did not have free WiFi or free breakfast, and you had to pay at least $12 for each. Finally, the location is right downtown, but the valet is $30 everytime you leave, which can be more than other local hotels, walk if you can. Ultimately, based on our whole experience, we would rather stay at a place that is more modern with more amenities included for less.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around... I had a suite and the rooms were very nice. Towels were very soft / fluffy and will toiletry products were a decently large size, unlike some other hotels where running out could potentially be an issue. The check in and check out processes were quick and easy, the staff was very courteous. Its easy to get a taxi out front all hours of the day, even though the Ritz is not located on a busy street.

I have stayed at this hotel more than a dozen times and have never had a room that didnt smell bad. The 7th floor must have been an old smoking floor because every room Ive had there smells like stale smoke and bleach. If you ever get stuck with room 730, request a change -- it is on the back side of the fitness center and you hear weights banging throughout the day and night. This location is simply not up to par with most other Ritz-Carlton hotels around the U.S.
