Last few times of being there, I have walked out pissed off over something the workers there have done. The most recent time was this evening as I step outside in the parking deck to smoke while Im waiting for my friend to come out, I get stopped by security and asked to remove my hand from my jacket pocket. Now mind you it is 30 degrees out and I dont have gloves so I did what I was asked and then he asks if I have been inside gambling and I replied yes and then he asks if I have been drinking for which I answered no and that I dont drink! Apparently you are not allowed to walk to your vehicle with your hand in your pocket and smoking a cigarette to which the security guard says I need to quit smoking! First off I will smoke if I want and its none of your business if I do! secondly I truly feel that I was questioned because I am a white person and you are picking on me because of my color! so I have decided to never return to either of the Jack(ass) casinos. In my opinion since they did all of the improvements they have tightened the machines up to pay for said improvements anyway, and quite frankly I am tired of spending almost $1,000 a week and not getting anything in return including play time! Stay away from this place especially if you are white they will play the Prejudice card!

It was okay . I went to the Hard Rock Casino last month and decided to try Jacks since its close to my house . I love the parking! But once I got in and played a few games I was asked to get carded again because I look too young . Wow! They wasted their time cuz Im over 21 . How could you possibly sneak in with all of the security they had ? Maybe they didnt have confidence in their security team I dont know but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way . So after I got carded AGAIN, i went to a dollar machine and was getting HOT! So GOT that I think it had a small glitch in it because it was pausing while giving me my bonuses. I could of talked to someone but I didnt want to make a hassle so I left it be . I think more slot machines are needed but the ones they did have were good . Even tho I gave this place 2 stars I have confidence that its going to get better so Ill be back

Im a Keno player, husband likes slots. The casino was OK, but TERRIBLE and I mean TERRIBLE SCALE payouts....I dont care what % casino pays out in whole, IM more concerned with the machine I am on and ALL the Keno games and slots have TERRIBLE pay scale, you only win half money you would in same game at Hard Rock! And the food places are expensive, not many choices on menus and TERRIBLE food! The only place that I played Keno that had Vegas odds was at the bar, not many machines and playing there was cold, cant sit on sides of bar because the cold air from AC from ceiling blowing on you so left me only back of bar to play on, no music to listen to...over all not worth going, to many negatives for a casual go to spot to relax and have fun frequently! Will play at Hard Rock...better pay scales, on individual machines, for your money and eating is a little better there.

WOW. As a long time resident of Cleveland it is great to see THISTLEDOWN go through the amazing transformation. I was here earlier this year (2016) and it was pretty basic. JACK has transformed it to something I will enjoy spending time & money at. Cant beat the new free parking garage. Adds that extra feel of security. Hoping to see some changes for the Railbirds. I am new at betting, and more betting machines outside would be nice and race schedules/race programs with rider, horse, race times need to be more available to spectators & gamblers. Perhaps some servers few umbrella covered tables would add to the experience as well. But overall a damn good time. American Burger could highly improve as customer service was horrible. AB should possibly hire more experienced staff as I could see its location next to the Pavilion could get very busy.

Pros: Close to freeway, plenty of parking, shuttle service, very friendly staff, good promotions, easy redemption of rewards credits at food court, good food, live entertainment, valet parking. Cons: Steps to casino are steep (to be fair, theres an elevator), long lines at promotions machines, Shopping and restaurants around the casino are practically non-existent. Love the coupons that come in the mail - theyre more than what I would get at ANY other casino and I go to different ones. The only thing I dont like is when Ive been sitting at a machine a good hour and NO ONE comes around to ask if I need something to drink! Theres no call button on the machine, so I have to track someone down or leave my machine (which is a BIG no-no!).

Worse casino I Have been to lately. Its a lie about free play when you get a new card. I was told only if you havent been to any casino before! What the hell is that! Had to pay $4 for two cokes and they were flat.....got our money back....but went without a drink because no hostess to be seen on the floor. Machines were ok but we didnt stay long because of the drinks and no free play as promised. It was an hour away I will go to Rocksino or Mountaineer at least they have drinks and freeplay! Oh and no bar could make a daquiri and the bar maid didnt know how to make a fussy navel.....really....that is pathetic! Dont waste your time! Sad but true!

Went for the free promotion of $100 for signing up for a Jack club card and was told I didnt qualify. WTF? Ive never been to Thistledowns before and the person/cashier said I must of been there before. Talk about false advertising. Will be filing complaints with the Ohio AG and the Lottery Commission on this one. Less than impressed with the inside. The couple machines I played felt very tight, with very little to no payout/payback. No drinks were offered to me for the time I spent there, nor where any waitresses to be found, except for 2 of them chit chatting and gossiping with security. Ill be taking my good $$$ elsewhere.

For my first time going it was cool, I won a little and lost a little, real costly on a lot of stuff but I did enjoy myself, just not the greetings of the gaurd, kinda rude but not rude where you want to leave or slap him, I do feel this place needs to work on customer service and how they handle people coming into the place, I know Im young and young oeople always want to sneak in somewhere but Im 21 which is a legal age of adulthood so no matter what you should still talk kindly to anyone regardless of your position but good place though over all, better than downtowns casino

Arrived at thistledown racino with 11 other people in our group on saturday april 25, 2015. We had dinner at the diner. We were all very pleased with the service and the food was delicious. We did not have to wait very long for our food . The food was hot and we were all served at the same time. Our waitress was awesome. She made sure we all had everything we ordered , was very polite , professional and attentive. we then spent a couple of hours playing the slots. A good time was had by all. definitely will return again.
