I live just a few minutes away from this theater, but I can count on one hand the number of times Ive gone there. Yesterday, I went to go see IT and Im actually sitting here blaming myself for seeing this movie at this theater on opening weekend. As if its MY fault that the people that also came to see the movie were loud, disrespectful and talked throughout the movie. Horrible, horrible experience. I dont care how close you live to this theater or if you wanted to see a movie after eating Yours Truly or something; it is NOT worth your time or money to visit this place. Do NOT see a movie there during peak hours (afternoons or evenings), on opening weekend, or even the following weekend. The only time I can say that I came away satisfied with my experience was after seeing the Jungle Book last year during its fifth weekend when only one other person came in to watch it. The people that attend this theater are not interested in watching movies; they want to talk and blather as though everyone else in the theater havent also spent their money to watch a movie. And the craziest thing is that the owner and people who work there dont ever have to worry about running out of business for this very reason: so long as there are people who are willing to spend their money to talk through a movie/be on their phones/yell across the theater, this theater will continue on, never having to change a thing. For all those who actually want to have a good movie experience, do not see a movie here.

I live about 2 minutes away from this multiplex, but I regularly choose to drive 20-30 minutes for a better experience. The last three times I have gone, Ive sworn to myself "never again" but the convenience factor always draws me back in. That said, there are almost always projection/sound problems (wrong aspect ratio, house lights left on, volume way too low, etc.,). The lobby and bathrooms are always filthy, and the general look is very run down. My favorite theatre in town is the Cedar Lee Theatre (also under the Cleveland Cinemas umbrella), which is run incredibly well. They show mostly award-bait, foreign, or indie films. For the blockbuster, tent-pole movies, I usually make the trek to the Cinemark at Valley View, where the projection/sound is always top notch and the theatre is clean.

I love this theater. It seems to be on hard times. It must be on historic register, opened in 1937 renovated in 99 I think. I was disappointed they covered up a 1940s mural on the bathroom level. I was assured it is only temporary. Great grand layout with winding stars going to 2nd level and down to lavatory level. Great for dates and outings. One can see a movie and step out into a square with 7/10 restaurants including Edwins french cuisine and a coffeehouse. They show a mix of movies and host the Urban Film Festival every year. Unlike places like the Cedar-Lee, concession stand food isnt all that. I hope it can hang in there to better times. Ample ample parking behind the theater and all around the square including the CVS on the northeast quadrant.

I walked in to hear an older employee complaining to a younger employee about cleaning the ticket stand and leaving a note about to the offending employees that do not clean up behind themselves. They ignore me completely to have their conversation no greeting or apologies and what makes it worse is that the movie I saw was lousy I should have taken clue upon entrance of the unprofessional employees and left it would have been money in my pocket instead of theirs. I wont be back!

Gives you that feel of the classic movie theaters. Nice decor with reasonable admission fees. The concessions are about same prices as others. Now that all movies are on Hard drive instead of filmstrips you get crystal clear pictures, and superb surround sound. Security was present as well as you can buy beer also. Bring the family for the big 3D titles upstairs and have a good time. We visit at least twice a month..

Great place for families and dates. A real home grown theater. Unlike the larger ones in the area. Its size is what makes it special. Prices are a little high and options are a little limited but I wouldnt trade those things for a big corporate movie theater feel. The only thing keeping it from five stars is the movie choices, it sometimes seems like they dont want business with the selections. Good staff, good managment

I am a veteran with a 3 week old infant. My wife and I wanted to go see the Patriotic movie 13 hours and was told we were not a loud in with our child even though there was hardly anyone at the 1pm showing. He was asleep and we would have obviously taken him out of he got upset. Ill never go to this theater again or recommend it to anyone. Go watch movies at a place that shows a little more respect for veterans.

I have been going to this movie theater since I was a child. I love the historic value of the building. Its almost like going back in time, but with all the amenities of modern technology. The architecture on the inside is great. The environment is family friendly, and good place for first dates. I hope this theater never dies.

Its a small theater that feels cozy. The prices for movies and refreshments are as outrageous as anywhere else. But, sometimes, you feel like youre sticking it to the Man by coming here instead. The number of movies being shown at one time is small. So, be sure to look at what movies are showing before showing up.

I have lived in the Larchmere area since 1985. Before that I moved to the Buckeye area in 1978. The crown jewel for me has always been the movie theater at Shaker Square. I go there once or twice every week. The employees are the best. They know you and are very friendly. Great customer service.

Iconic theater on Shaker Square has been the purveyor of entertainment for generations of Clevelanders. This jewel has both big budget blockbusters and small run and art films. They have a points card that helps you get free tickets and snacks for your loyalty. GO TO THIS THEATER! Its amazing.

Very few theatres still exist like this one. Locally run, great historic space, family centered with $6 Monday movies, and great service! Makes AMC and Regal seem pretty impersonal! We wont go to any other place (except maybe Cedar Lee, but they serve a different product!) :)

It is a classic landmark theater. They have a rewards card and you can use points to get concessions. Nice atmosphere, has security, adult beverages. Located in shaker square, plenty of restaurants around to eat dinner before or after the movie

Decent theater once you get pass security. Theyre really militant about bag searches, and when I asked them what exactly they were looking for, they couldnt articulate anything and just pointed to a sign that said searches were required.

Maybe I picked the wrong movie.... Girls trip.... Set by the loudest, ratchet older women who talked loudly the whole movie... Not to mention its July and there was no air conditioning.... Think ill stick with AMC theaters....

Best way to get here is by RTA train from downtown Cleveland. I have eaten at the Señor Tequila(Mexican Restaurant). After having a delicious meal you can walk a few steps into the theater and enjoy a movie.
