I have a great affinity for the entire Cleveland Cinemas consortium of theaters: they are local, they invest in keeping some of Clevelands notable historic movie houses in use, and they offer a delightful bevy of special film events. Of the Cleveland Cinemas theaters, the Cedar Lee is first among equals in my estimation. My idea of a perfect (rainy, freezing, sweltering - insert an adjective for inclemency here) evening involves dinner at Momos Kebab, a glass of wine at the Wine Spot, and a showing at the CL. Apart from the Cinematheque, the CL has long the singular spot in town for movies not of the blockbuster variety. I have many cherished memories of being exposed to ideas, aesthetics, humor, and culture through the screens of the CL in the pre-digital era when, if not for this resource, those experiences would have been difficult to come by. Whereas a trip to the multiplexes (you know the ones) can be a soul-sucking slog through the bowels of idiocy and gluttony, a trip to the CL feel like a frolic: their rotating titles take you through dramatized history, contemporary documentary, cult classics, and cutting edge comedy - all with a GLBC brew or theme cocktail in hand. The theatre isnt a sprawling, corporate Disneyland; its a proud, classic movie house thats been well-loved over decades. Tip: I recommend joining the Cleveland Cinemas reward program; I am not a frequent movie-goer and I still get some real, enjoyable freebies on occasion.

Great theater - The movie selection is the best and the staff is friendly and helpful. Very customer-oriented. A few weeks ago, four of us went to see a movie. The projector for that theater was out of order; so the manager told us to pick another film and then comped all four tickets. Tonight, Cleveland was hit with a deluge. Somehow, water got into the theater that was to show the film I was there to see. The staff delayed the film for just a few minutes so they could wet vac up the water. The delay was the most minor of inconveniences; however, as we left the theater, the ushers gave everyone a free pass to see another theater. Cant say enough good things about this place.

This is an amazing theater. The only complaint is the amount of leg room in the seats, but this is a old Theatre so its expected. This place has a huge selection of independent films, if you hear about a movie in "select theaters" its likely here. Additionally they do special nights for old classics, and nothing beats the feel of a movie with a group of people with similar love of it. The popcorn is cheap and amazing, and they also have beer wine and cocktails available. Worth the visit to have the rustic feel.

The area around the theatre is horribly DARK. The sidewalk and area from the parking lot all the way to the theatre is uneven and broken. The path between the parking lot and Lee Road is icy and not cared for at all in the Winter. The movies are great, but it is a chore to get from the parking lot to the theatre. The City of Cleveland Heights, and the buildings ownership should be ashamed. Oh, and the coffee is stupidly expensive. Huge rip-off!

The only reason for a 4 is it looks old needs a facelift. The employees very nice and accommodating, they allow us too bring in snacks since we keep Kosher and could it what was there. List of parking & a lot of handicap accessible parking. As far as I remember there is no disabled restrooms ( could be wrong )? I recommend this place for the whole family.

Awesome independent theater with a great film selection. Most movies I want to see end up making an appearance at this theater. The stuff is a little pricey but... so are all theaters, so whatever. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about upcoming releases and general film information. Summer midnight showings are the best. Definitely worth a visit.

I love this place, it has all the GOOD indie flicks and some major releases there, plus the actual theatre itself is nice. Sometimes I stumble in here after a few drinks and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area; and even if youre not into indie flicks or foreign films check it out on the big screen you migth like it.

I think this is one of the best movie theaters in America. Always take visitors here who are stunned that such good movies still exist. Passed the marquee today and it looks like they plan on showing "Dr Strangelove or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned To Love The Bomb" for Jan. 7th. Something to look forward to. (c;

Fun little theater in a cute neighborhood. Its old without all the touches and updates of the newer theaters, which is too bad, but you are able to go and see old films there and new ones. Its also a good venue for going to see a Rocky Horror Picture Showing the first Saturday of each month if thats what youre into.

Best Popcorn for one! Love the staff always courteous! Love selection of movies. As a transplant from the east coast NY/NJ this theater always reminds me of my home theater where I saw all independent movies there. On my way to Cedar Lee tonight to see Amy. This place is one of Clevelands Gems!

This theatre is a staple of the area, they have a great beer selection available during movie showings.. they often have independent movies and occasionally have q&a and invite creators and even a special secret movie night.. this place is great, I love it. Small theatre, big entertainment.

Unique selection of movies. Great carmel corn when available. Friendly customer service. Seats are a bit cramped in certain theaters. Screens in certain theaters are also fairly small. So mostly for seeing movies not availible in other places. Main 3 theaters are nice.

Great place to see first-run foreign and indie flicks. Theres two huge theaters with stadium seating, along with several smaller ones. The concessions include microbrews and Keurig coffee. Its in a solid neighborhood with lots of restaurants, bars, coffeeshops, etc.

This legendary theater shows current movies , but also shows specialty films, music documentaries and cult classics like a once a month midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Consesions are good, with a nice variety, as well as beer and wine.

As fans of eclectic movies, we think that the Cedar Lee is the best in town. The prices are reasonable and you can get a glass of wine or beer, which is nice. Their movie selection always has something of interest that you cant see anywhere else in town.

Cute place. Reminds me of time gone by. Doesnt show a lot of movies but does have a certain charm to it. Is nice to promote and patronize a small local place like this instead of the the pockets of some overpaid CEO of the bigger national chains.

Been going to this theatre for decades. I believe the seating could be better but I love the environment. The place to go for independent films in the area. The theatre for the true movie lover.
