Well Im giving this theater 4 stars for nostalgia. I remember coming here as a child to see Old Yeller and The Apple Dumpling Gang. It looks like we walked back in time and is exactly as I remember. The lobby may be different. I didnt order food or drinks because I was stuffed from dinner, but it looks like they serve wine in addition to the usual movie snacks. My one negative is that the seats were uncomfortable. Granted, I have a bad back and neck. But its quaint, not crowded, and Mariemont is sort of adorable, right? We were able to order our tickets in advance and walk right in with the ticket taker scanning our phones. Its not luxurious, with the big comfy recliners, its smaller than most theaters. But its Mariemont with the Tudor buildings and the marquee looked just as I remembered it.

Great "date" location - charming, friendly, clean local theater in a quaint, bucolic neighborhood. Near good restaurants and looks out on a park from which you can see the stars while enjoying your cone from neighbor Graeters. They run indie, intelligent and documentary films so dont come looking for the latest CGI blockbuster. The popcorn is incredible, the decor is 1950s and its a great time. Theaters are intimate compared to todays multiplexes, but thats part of the appeal - imo sitting in a dark room experiencing a great film with others is what its all about! I like blockbusters and 14 screen theters too, but we need to keep and support treasures like the Mariemont !

One of the true attractions of Mariemont. Great experience every time I visit. Maintained in the style of Esquire (at Clifton), they do not have a problem competing with new cinemas in the city. They have a great selection of offbeat movies and mainstream ones as well. More often than not, they play movies that the rest of the city does not. Parking can be quite tricky. The lot is not close by but its not too far either. The crowd is on the older side. The seats are comfortable and the movie experience is great.

I love the Esquire and I love its sister theatre, too! They have really decent prices, coupons in the Bear Cash and they show awesome movies. Most of them are independent or smaller movies, which I love! On my last visit we went on a Wednesday for a 2:30p show and had no problem parking in the little lit across the street. I dont make it out to this particular location very frequently, but the neighborhood is cute and there are places nearby to eat before or after.

Independent movie theater with reasonable ticket prices and clean seats. Most theaters are on the smaller side, so the theaters feel intimate. The location is close to quite a few other restaurants and Graeters ice cream. Parking is free and there is a small lot near the front entrance. Check out the snack bar at Mariemont - their popcorn isnt astronomically priced and they offer free seasonings. Plus, they have local restaurant Green Papaya sushi!

I drive 250 miles (one way) just to see the films that Mariemont Theatre presents. Its the ONLY place that shows such a wide variety of art/foreign/independent films. Having lived in Los Angeles (the Mecca of films), I searched everywhere to find such a place. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cordial. So, if you are a real film buff, welcome home---this is the place to go!

Very small, laid back theatre. Beautiful on the outside, but the screening rooms themselves are a bit dated. They serve alcohol but the prices are a little high. But its within reason for this area. Video quality of the movies is also really good -- everything Ive seen has been 4K.

This theatre has an admirable focus on independent and lesser-known movies. It also serves beer, wine, and other treats. Always a good time. My visits here are usually after having dinner nearby; with their selection, its hard to go wrong with picking whatevers showing next.

Great area of town with proximity nice restaurants and bars. Great selection of indie moves. Wide selection of refreshments for all ages. Friendly staff. The seating is dated and not as comfortable as newer theaters.

There are much better movie expiriences throughout Cincinnati; Id imagine the only advantage to this crowded and difficult to park cinema is proximity.

This is a wonderful art theater. It shows foreign films and others that are not shown in the larger theaters. Great addition to the town of Mariemont!

Small theatre that brings eclectic movies. Can bring in a glass of wine to the theatre (great plus if the movie gets a bit boring).
