I used to like this place. Its certainly not the newest theater, or the most comfortable, but it had a certain nostalgic quality. However after tonight, I highly doubt I will be returning. The movie we had come to see was cancelled due to technical difficulties. I get it, it happens. But we were told in such a manner that was quite flippant, with the notion that we should have known if we had called. Like most people, I check Fandango. The only suggestion was to call back tomorrow to see if it was fixed yet, but be sure to call. I work in customer service myself, and I know what its like when things happen that arent in your control, but at least be apologetic that we drove all this way for nothing, with no other show times in the area. The only thing left off of the employees statement/explanation was "well, duh!"

Reviews are always a crap shoot, but some of these are simply hilarious. This place is not the most extravagant theater in Michigan, and neither is the "other" one, but there is nothing wrong with it; its a small town theater. The popcorn is fine, the seats where put in last year, its not filthy, it doesnt smell, the bathrooms function, the screens and sound are fine. They have decent prices and a rewards card. Do the slob customers mess the floor, yes, do they need to sweep more often, yes, are the bathrooms gross, no, but they are a little dated. You have two good choices in Jackson, the purple one or the red one. I tend to go to the purple one because it is less crowded; probably due to people believing some of these reviews.

Weve been to this theater many times and its become a joke among our family that something always goes wrong during the movie. Either the film stops for some mysterious reason in the middle of the movie, or the sound goes out, or the lights come on...always something. Management is poor as well. On one occasion we were in a theater with a group of loud teenagers and when we told the management about it, they wouldnt do anything. After the movie was over we, along with a few other families in the theater, asked to speak to the manger about it and we were told it was our fault because we didnt complain enough. Overall, we prefer to drive to Lansing to see a movie than give any more of our money to this theater.

This place is very sketchy. No one was there, I was literally (like, LITERALLY) the only person in the place besides staff. There were signs all over the place saying no weapons allowed, and the ads before the movie kept stressing to know where the nearest exit was in case of an emergency. If all of that was supposed to make someone feel safe I dont think any of it does the job. Everything was fine but I kept feeling like something awful was going to happen while I was there. Id recommend making the drive to Ann arbor or Lansing for a movie theater..

I was very disappointed during my recent visit to see Alvin and the Chipmonks, a childrens movie. I was shocked at the advertisement before the movie for the TV show "Lost" which contained blood and guns. Keep in mind my six year old son was with me and he had to turn his head and burry it into my shoulder because it was so upsetting to him. I will not visit the theatre again, are you trying to tell me they have no control over what previews are shown. And you wonder where kids learn violence at a young age.

This theater is the better of the two in Jackson recently. Its had many improvements in the past year like new management, much cleaner, new seats are/have been put in very comfortable, in public seats dont need to be couple friendly. Keep that at home, therefore most theaters dont have movable armrests . Theyre also getting new carpet in the game area. They also have lower prices especially on Tuesdays and everyday between 4-5:30 and very friendly staff!

Definitely not as nice as the Jackson 10 (or any movie theater in any other city). The seats are not couple-friendly (the armrests dont movie up) and the screens do not look great. Also, if you like movie theaters being quiet, you really shouldnt see a movie in Jackson. In both Carmike and Jackson 10, people are so incredibly loud and talk throughout the movie. You can also expect at least 3 people to be on their phones intermittently.

Not a fan of this theater anymore. They used to be a great theater until AMC bought them, now it is a waste of money. The pop was horrible, the screen kept shorting out while watching the movie and the concessions arent much better either. I used to love coming here, but I will never come back. They are trying to hard to be a celebration cinema when it was just fine they way they were before AMC.

Weve been coming to this theatre for years. They have recently been bought out by AMC. The only thing my family and myself has a problem with is the refill policy, other than that no complaints at all. We love it there and we also love the guy Kourtney who works there. He is are favorite always helpful and keeps a big smile on his face. We will always return to AMC over Jackson 10.

The theater is absolutely filthy, but thats a small issue to me in comparison to what happened last time I was there. A security guard stopped me at the spot where they take tickets. He took my purse from me and dug around in it, claiming he was searching for "weapons and dangerous objects." After being groundlessly treated like a criminal, Im never going back there again.

Told her 2 adult tickets & showed military ID. Tried to sell me 3 tickets, 2 full price tickets & 1 with military discount. No, I need 2 tickets with military discount. Was given 1 ticket at full price & 1 ticket at military discount. Then use restrooms & they were absolutely filthy. Theater itself wasnt much cleaner than the bathrooms. Wont be coming back here!

We went to the premier of Astro Boy with our 7, 5, and 2 year old. The opening preview was of a horror movie, complete with some thriller-suspence, creapy torture screams, and a small sex scene. I dont remember what the preview was for, but it was sponsored by Mountain Dew. Very disappointed that they dont screen for their childrens movies....we were irate!

Told me i was not allowed to bring my own drink in the theater even when they had absolutely nothing to drink except for bottled pop because they got rid of their pop machine because they were waiting on a shipment for their cocoa cola freestyle machine. I just feel that if i have limited options for drink choices i should be allowed to bring my own drink in.

If your child cant handle the previews before a Show. Dont take them! Violence and other 18+ content happens on TV, you cant shelter them forever! I love this theater and Im a regular, perhaps even classified as VIP now. The employees (except one select female) are all GREAT and I return there over J10 every time.

The place just stinks and has went down hill over the last 5 years its just to bad ... the jackson 10 is more comfortable less stinky and manages to have better service.... you would think plaza would lower the prices and atleast try to compete but Im sure it wont be long before its closed down...
