This theater is by far the worst theater that i have ever had the misfortune to attend. It really deserves no stars, The place is a disorganized mess as far as finding your seat. The staff has been very poorly trained by the (mis)management and so they tell you contradictory things, to your detriment. My wife and I recently had a horrible experience when we purchased tickets (for unreserved seats-all reserved seat tickets had already been sold)to see a certain movie. We were told twice by the employee selling us the tickets that we that we could sit in any of the first four rows. We entered the auditorium where the movie was playing and sat down in the fourth row, as we had been told to do. We had arrived well before the start of the movie and were in fact the first two customers in the auditorium. Slowly, the seats started filling up, and much later an usher suddenly appeared and asked us for our tickets, since somebody else supposedly had tickets for the seatss we were in. I pointed out that we had been told by the person selling us the tickets that we could sit in ANY OF THE SEATS IN THE FIRST FOUR ROWS. The usher said that we could only sit in any of the first THREE. rows. I pointed out that it was pretty late to start contradicting his fellow employee who sold us the tickets; if we were told in a timely manner that we could only have seats in the first three, rows we would have sat in the third row in the center, but now that option was closed to us, as other patrons had these seats. The only seats remaining were truly horrible, being either in the first row or off all the way to the side.We certainly were prejudiced by this sudden about face. We then left the auditorium, and told a manager about the terrible treatment we had received, She said that in some auditoriums the unreserved seats are in the first four rows and other auditoriums they are the first three.I pointed out that if that is the case, then ticket sellers should not mislead us by flatly telling us that we could sit in any of the seats in the first four rows. She did not disagree and gave me our money back. I left after noting that our day (December 25, 2016) was ruined. Frankly, given all the trouble the theater had caused us, they could have done better than just giving us our money back. I do warn people that if you patronize this very poorly managed theater you do so at your peril. .

PROS: -Awesome comfortable seating and very spacious. -Clean -Sound and picture quality always very good. -More movies and showtimes available than say PJ cinemas or Coram Pine cinemas. CONS: -Overpriced tickets on both matinee and evening movies. -Way overpriced on food and beverages! -Usually sold out on popular shows during the weekend. All in all, it is a movie theater and you are going to see a movie, not a popular broadway show or a high priced event in the city. Well, after you go with two kids you can easily drop $80 after buying 3 tix plus just the basics on food- i.e. popcorn and sodas. I am in my mid-40s and when I was a kid, you didnt go broke going to see one. Question is, is it worth it? I gave this review as 4 stars because of what I have to say. Personally I will pay more on the tickets for the better movie experience. I enjoy the spacious and comfortable seating. It sucks when your seats are so close together and you have the guy behind you kicking the back of your seat at other theaters. This is a huge pet peeve of mine and it irritates me big time. Im not a regular movie goer so I dont necessarily mind going to Island 16. Being that Island 16 has big theaters, I have fortunately never experienced inconsiderate movie goers who feel the absolute need to be glued to their cell phones instead of watching the movie. Never could understand that, plus the rudeness and inconsiderate factor! IMO for what they charge for the food, the quality should be a lot better. I think the popcorn for instance at Coram Pine beats out anyones. They also give you free refills on it when you buy a large size. In the end, Id probably go to wherever the movie is playing and the mood I am in.

I really like the theaters sound and quality of the pictures on the screens. Preview lengths are often too long and timing is unpredictable. Discount Tuesdays were great until they discontinued some of the specials and raised the prices at the concession stands. Prices for sodas are outrageous and the slurpee drinks are always either not working or turned off early by the attendants - why even have them? The attendants are too slow at the concessions stands and its frustrating to see them standing around talking to each other while the line length increases - why does it take 3 people to get a drink popcorn and ring it up on the register - inefficient use of staff. Not to mention that the popcorn prices which were already too high have now been raised by $.025 each, now $8.25 for a large popcorn and 5.25 for a drink making the price $13.50 plus $12.50 for admission - $26.00 bucks for one person, for one movie - outrageous. Usually I just go to the movies because I like the popcorn but at these prices and since I already have a theater room and am paying for premium cable channels in my house, guess Ill just wait until these movies come out on HBO or Showtime - they always do anyway, after a while. Last year, I spent well over $500 at this theater alone, with the high prices and low value I refuse to do this in 2015.

They sold me 10 tickets for the premire showing of Harry Potter and the HBP, the showtime clearly states Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 12:01AM. Me and the other NINE people I bought tickets for show up Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10:00pm and are told that we came on the wrong date that in fact the movie will be shown on Tuesday night going into Wednesday morning. Apparetly they have thier own univers with a different time zone. After, I take my children and my nephews, whom I drove down to Virginia to pick up because they moved there in May, at my parents house I went back and still people were showing up. They were not being let in and told that the theatre was closing. Meanwhile employees, some dressed in Harry Potter attire, were coming in. When I asked security why they were allowed in they told me because they work here. I have know doubt that the employees and some of their friends enjoyed watching the midnight premire I myself paid over $106.00 to see that night.....Whos running this circus?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
