Arrived on Saturday nite February 6,2010 at 6:55 for scheduled 7:10 showing of Sherlock Holmes. After waiting in long line (only one ticket attendant) we purchased tickets and went to candy counter for goodies. At that point people were coming out of the theater section where Sherlock Holmes was showing to complain that the movie had started ten minutes ahead of schedule (7pm instead of 7:10 pm). Big hullabaloo in lobby with rude ticket attendant telling everyone "too bad, nothing we can do". Most people slink back into movie feeling slighted and abused, but not us - we drove 30 minutes after comparing four different theater schedules. Asked to see manager, at which point the attendant at the goodie counter approached and said "our management is out of NY and there is nothing we can do. WE DONT GIVE REFUNDS". Unpleasant encounter ensues as I demand refund and apology, finally resulting in t-shirt clad camera dude who was running the film coming down and says it is his fault, and he is sorry, but he cannot stop and restart film. We demanded refund but were refused, only got tickets stamped for reentry for another movie. Worst managment, employee attitude and customer service I have experienced anywhere in many years. Will have my return tickets bronzed and framed as a reminder to see my shrink if I ever even think about going back to Mallview Cinema in Waterbury. Outrageous!

The actual theater where you watch the movie was nice, like really nice as in all up to date with recliners and the floor isnt sticky nice. Where did the stars go? The restroom looks like it has not been renovated in over 20 years. There are still signs of harder times like the missing dividers between the urinals in the Mens room. Also I could not find one sink that did not have black mold between the base of the faucet and the sink. also I know that you probably do some cleaning in the bathrooms but I dont really need to see the toilet brush and broom on the floor behind the trash can. The snack bar was a bit cleaner probably only because the health department checks on it. Overall the theaters are really great, but this place just needs to be more attentive in the lobby area and a deep clean and update are in order for the bathrooms. Honestly a small detail brush and about an hour of work on just the bathroom sinks could get this place another star. I will keep an eye on this place and when improvements are made I will update my rating.

The renovated 10 screen theater in Waterbury was a pleasant surprise. Nice lobby, clean restrooms, updated paint etc. We were expecting a small screening venue but when we entered it turned out to be a large space (250 to 300 seats) with full sized digital screen and Dolby surround sound (plus comfortable, reclining seating that seemed better than the Brass Mill Cinemas). . We got there 3 mins late; a mistake since the movie had already started (must have no or few previews). A bargain price at $2.50 each. Their website is easy to use and informative other than the time listings, which are for Cambridge MA (but seem to be the same for Waterbury).

Arrived early to movie. Got our goodies and headed to the theater we were told movie was in. Wasnt told that the previous showing was still on - so we saw the last 2 minutes of the movie - not a big deal. We ended up being the only people in the theater - again, not a big deal. When the movie was ending the attendant cut off the movie. THEN SHUT OFF THE LIGHTS!!! We were STILL IN THERE! Headed out to find NO ONE in the lobby and worried that the doors were already looked - thank goodness we got out. I turned to look back and the lobby lights were already off - GEEZ feel like they dont want you there? Bummed about missing the end of the movie :(

You should probably go here on a Friday or Saturday before you go to Regal Cinemas in the mall trying to watch a movie with a bunch of out of control teenagers who cant stay quiet trying to seek attention. Seats recline, free refills on drinks, cheper refreshments and a more mature place for company. I will say that the picture is not as wide or the theater is not as big as Regal Cinemas, but well worth the visit. Theater size should not be compared with a much busier mall capacity anyway. Thanks for giving Waterbury and Wolcott options by not letting it sit vacant any longer from the Holiday and short lived Creative days.

I love this theater. Ive been going there since I was a kid, and now that there are new owners and its open again, its like a nostalgia trip every time I go there. The prices are right, the refreshments are good and reasonably priced, and the seats are still pretty comfy with the ample leg room that someone that my height deserves when participating in the movie theater experience. Plus, the staff are awesome and they me borrow movie theater props for GISHWHES in 2014. Anybody that wants to participate in the weird of GISHWHES gets an A+ in my book. You go Apple Cinemas!

Im a single mother and this theater is so convient. I went to see Kevin Harts new movie (for myself) and were going back to see Trolls. Financially friendly, awesome staff and not super cold like most theaters. Aside from the prices being friggin awesome this is definitely the "Apple of Waterbury" just sweet. 5 stars for not having previews, so if youre a person whos late for life, you will miss out. Apple Cinemas is like having a big screen at home in your favorite chair. This theater has character. So go laugh out loud and save a few bucks.✌

Movie started 17 min late, theatre chairs were filthy with butter covered all over. The theatre was hot and someone must have put the thermostat up to 78. Over all it seems theirs no communication between staff and a lack of care to clean up after movies are done. Im glad we had baby wipes to clean the seats themselves. Let me also add I was charged for my 7 month old who sat in my lap the whole time. Thats an all time low. Who charges a 7 month old at the theatres.? Most likely will never go back.

I come here for a quick movie, service is good although some of the staff dont really talk to you, the popcorn isnt Burnt and you can refill your soda with out problem the theatre for the most part is clean and the movies are usually great. I have been here a few times where the staff forget to dim the lights and you have to get up and go tell them that the lights are on but they take care it with out an attitude so its over all good.

If it was choice I would give no stars, I brought my children to watch a movie and I guess they never cleaned the theater before we came in. I looked over too my 3year old and she got a hold of a tiny liquor bottle of Smirnoff. I left immediately and called poison control. Thank god my baby was okay. I called apple cinemas and they said I dont know what to tell you mam. With no sympathy of my child consuming liquor.

Its super cheap and if your just looking for a night just to relax and hang best movie theater to do it at. I just wish they had the arcade games like back in the day. Not many people come here so sometimes you will have the theater to yourself which is awesome, but i do hope for the owner that they get more business cause i dont wanna see this place close again. Maybe make some advertisement on TV or something
