As a retired Health inspector in the Litchfield county area, i am appalled by the cleanliness factor of this movie theater. The bathroom garages were overflowing,most bathroom stalls were out of order, and the bathroom had a raw sewage smell. Over continuous months of going to this establishment it remained the way i described. The workers dont move at a fast enough pace on a Friday night to get customers seated in time for their movie, mean less to say when you get into the theater after a previous show set it is still dirty with popcorn bags in seats and on the floor. It was a negative experience every time i went to this theater. If you want some professionalism go to Cinerom in Torrington.

I was very disappointed because I love this cinema. I went to see Dunkirk last night and the sound cut out about 30 minutes into it. Six people, including myself, walked around the theater yelling for someone. Two men went upstairs where the light was on and found one employee SLEEPING in the sound booth. The booth and many of the other doors, have key pads on them, but were wide open when no one was on staff. The kid turned the sound back on in the movie, but already almost half the movie had passed with the sound garbled. Honestly, I like the new seats that are big and recline, but if the price is malfunctioning equipment and an understaffed theater, Id rather sit on the floor.

I have read the review submitted by a Jon Wilson and frankly dont know how management could have failed, you walk in buy a ticket and watch a movie. Or you buy a snack first. I have seen dozens of movies there and they always start on time and the theater is always clean with the exception of some popcorn on the floor. What movie theater doesnt have some popcorn on the floor? And I am certain the management didnt put it there. The bathrooms are always clean as well. If you are looking for something more than this maybe a Broadway play would suit you better. And at only $6.00 how can you complain anyway? I will continue to enjoy movies at Apple Cinema, Barkhamsted. Thanks

I dont know why I even spent the gas to go to the Winsted theater I should have spent the extra money and went to Hoyts. Worth the drive. The employees who work there treat the customers well, but the management is ran by a bunch of amatures. Probably why they went out of business couple years back. They dont know the difference between left and right. Service from the managers are below 1 star. I never leave reviews only when Im really fed up. This place really hit it and ruined my whole night that supposed to be worth while. Never again

Under the new owners this place has improved so much. The new seating with the reclining seats are excellent. We recently went to the AMC in Southington and they also have reclining seats, which are a bit more plush, but we felt like our necks were being pushed forward. Apple Cinemas seats dont do that and were perfect. For years these cinemas had an old musty smell to them and thats all gone. Places like this make me want to see more movies in the theater!

Its a nice theater, yes. Very comfortable and friendly staff. I was only disappointed because the website said there were closed caption devices being provided, and I am deaf. I went there tonight and I was told they dont provide closed caption devices. I was extremely disappointed since even though I enjoyed the movie, I felt like I was wasting my time and money for a movie I couldnt even understand.

This place is awesome! Plush reclining seats, inside tavern, great concessions and very clean. Theyve done some remodeling and I would choose this theater over Simsbury Hoyts. I will be going back to this Theater again. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible. Very friendly staff as well. CHECK IT OUT!

I hate this theater..its dirty..the bathrooms are always discusting its 4 bucks for a small soda and it always smells like old cheese. My friend once got lice from one of the seats. Although its close to my house an the cheapest theater around...the sound quality sucks and its dirty. So i go elsewere

I dont know what theater Mike and the retired health inspector were in, but it certainly wasnt, Apple Cinema. I have been there several times and found the bathroom and stalls were always clean. There was no garbage or popcorn bags in between the seats in the theaters and also was always clean.

It still shows signs of struggling but its MUCH improved from when it was under the previous owners. The sound and picture both actually work(!) and the smell is leagues better. Plus I like the different things you can put on the popcorn. Glad to see a childhood staple staying in business.

Nice theater with comfort recliner seats. The concessions and the ticket prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I drove an extra 10 minutes, past another theatre and I am glad that I did. Would definitely recommend this theatre for a fun night out with your family.

Always clean! Love the considerate and helpful staff. Thrilled that they keep adding improvements to the theater. Ticket prices are better than other area theaters, too. This is our go-to place to watch new movies, we absolutely love it at Apple Cinemas!

Pleasently surprised, the previous owners let the place go to borderline unusable, the current owners certainly kicked it back up to pristine condition. Also, if youre into that kind of thing, there is a bar that serves beer and wine on premises.

Really clean, ticket prices are good, and on the day we went, it wasnt too busy. They also have a ticket and popcorn bundle that seemed reasonable. In the theater I went in there were traditional movie seats but they were comfortable.

All theaters now have reclining seats, many of which have a small tray/table. This theater also serves beer and wine. Everything was very clean, and the staff was very friendly & courteous. My family and I will definitely go back!

Pros: cheap tickets, lots of showtimes, serve beer. Cons: the slope of the seating isnt enough to prevent people in front of you from blocking your view. All around good experience. Nice to have this theater in the area.

The Theaters we went into were very clean. It was filthy after the customers left their food and sodas everywhere. There is still a slight smell. We love the convenience that is close to home and the cost is less.

Incredibly comfy seating, great prices, movie selection, and close to all in the NW corner. I wont need drive to Danbury or Plainville for IMAX any more. This place is as good or better than those places.

They really pulled the place together getting reclining seats. It is a bit small of a theater compared to some though. The prices and food are very cheap and affordable. This theater is really wonderful!

Great price however the theater we sat in smelt really bad. Sewage problem maybe! Popcorn was good but the smelt was really really bad. Hopefully they can fix the smell if we decide to come back :/
