Tonight I attended a showing of The Magnificent Seven at this theater. The movie was showing in one of the newly renovated theaters that feature the plush, reclining seats. However, shortly after settling in, I discovered that my seat wouldnt recline, and, by observing the other people in the theater, I soon realized that none of the seats were able to recline. I was a little disappointed, but since this is a relatively new feature, and, even without the ability to recline, the seats are still more comfortable than the seats they replaced, it really wasnt a big deal. I dont know what caused the recline feature to fail throughout the theater, but about an hour into the movie the buttons that activate this feature flickered and the seats began working again. I had forgotten all about it by the time I exited the theater at the end of the movie, but as we walked out the door we were greeted by a manager who was apologizing profusely and giving everyone a certificate for a free movie! Kudos to the management at this theater for acknowledging the problem and showing such concern for their customers. This is the best movie theater in the Savannah market!

So I went to this recently renovated theater and found out they were reserving seats. I showed up about 5 minutes before the movie started (my mistake of course) and I found out no seats were available next to each other. The staff member told me that if I didnt like the seats, I could change and get the seats that I wanted. When I found that the first row seats were awful, I came back and saw they gave away the seats they said I could have. I made a big scene because I very unhappy and nobody tried to talk to me about my dissatisfaction. 30 minutes into the movie found out that nobody was sitting at those seats that they said were taken. Also, I managed to steal a seat next to my wife and kid and found that nobody showed at the seat that I stole. Also there were several good seats next to each other. We also got kicked out of the theater because my kid was loud, but nobody offered a raincheck. My advice is to keep your kid at home if theyre loud because they will watch over your shoulder and kick you out and reserve online ahead. I will probably go there again, but it is very awkward.

The prices are typical in regards to market competition. This theater does, however, provide friendly weekday - Monday through Thursday - matinee pricing in which every movie ticket is priced at five dollars if the show starts before five p.m. Not ideal times, but the regular weekday pricing is eight dollars which is fair in regards to competition and overall experience. The theater is always pristine and the service is always pleasant. They are sticklers when it comes I.D.s even if you look older than 18, but its to be expected. Concession pricing is normal, which means its overpriced, but they wont usually prohibit you if they see you bring in your own concessions. Also, they have a nice dinner theater deal with the nearby Mellow Mushroom.

There are pros and cons to the new seating. If you reserve online through the website there is a service charge. For a family of four it is over $5 for the convenience of knowing you will be able to sit together. If you take your chances and go to the theater without reserving the seats, it is unlikely to find seats together. Weve been burned twice by this. However, the new seating is extremely comfortable. My advice is just to be aware that youll be paying extra to guarantee getting seats together. Also, give yourself plenty of time at this theater. Often the box office window is closed and you are redirected to the concession stand to buy tickets. That can be a long wait when families are ordering food/drinks and all you want is a ticket.

Great concept, still needs work. Went on a Friday night, roughly 40 people in line to buy tickets at their kiosk, they do not have ticket booths, only 2 kiosk. On Friday night it quickly got to 60-70 people in line since only 2 kiosk, both kiosks quit working, no one could buy tickets. Was actually funny to see how mad people were, to get upset over something so minor. Its like OMG you just saved probably $40 that you shouldnt have spent anyway..... Oh no not that. I just went home and watched a movie on Netflix. You couldnt buy tickets online either except for the next show that starts in 2 hours, cant buy the getting ready to start ticket and you have to use the kiosk anyway to get them.

My friends and I went tonight to see a 10:15 movie, we bought our tickets early. Went in and sat down, had NUMEROUS verbal altercations with people over these "assigned seating" they have. Its the most ridiculous thing Ive heard. My friends and I were unable to sit with each other. The staff seemed not to care and we basically had to deal with the issue ourselves. We decided to leave as the movie was starting and get our money back. Yes, the seats are comfy but Im an adult and dont need somebody telling me where I can and can not sit in a movie and then it getting to the point where it causes problems. Will not ever come back to this theatre. So disappointed. Assigned seating to who?!???

The worst experience ever!! We were told that we wouldnt be able to sit with each other as a family of 5. The movie had multiple viewings like every 30 minutes. However, I feel like hr showed no empathy, and he was like ok have a nice day. But what he shouldve done was suggested the 6:30 since the 6pm was an inconvenience of seating. My family and I moved to the side and we decided on asking about the next viewing and what do you low seats were available. I spent my money but I didnt feel good about it because of the way I was treated. I spoke with a mgr and her reply was she is sorry and hes no, and to me thats not a good enough excuse. I will not be back; ever!!!

Renovations are one thing. Not a big deal that you dont have fountain drinks or Icies. What is ano issue. Is that your charging $4.00 for that bottle of soda. I purchased my tickets on Fandango that my kids were looking forward to watching. Of course Im going to buy popcorn and soda. Its all part of the special experience. You know that, and are rpiping your customers off by not adjusting your prices. To look at the dejected faces of your employees when they had to tell me how much the price was. Depressing. If I had only know ahead of time how you do buisiness and what you really think of your customers. I would have given my money to a different theater.

This theater is hands down the best in the Savannah/Pooler/Chatham County area. The seats alone would make this the best theater, but they offer you the ability to reserve the seats in advance. For those of you with an inkling of preparedness skills and/or love-of-cinema it is a game changer. THEN add their new "GTX" large format theater, and you have an IMAX, BIG-D killing screen that lets you sit three feet from the rows in front or behind you. I hope that the cinemas within the city of Savannah will recognize what a draw having insanely comfortable seats can be. Because I will drive twenty-five minutes out of town for all major release films.
