***** See bottom for edit on this review ***** This is a VERY SAD review of what could have been a 5 star review, but how management handled the situation, I am still not happy, I will call back today and see if they will rectify the situation, if not, then I am stuck with 4 passes to an AMC THEATRE that I dont want to go back to. We went to see Newsies, admittedly this was a Disney issue across the US, in many theatres, it is how the management handled it. Waiting almost an hour with no word, then saying it could be another two hpurs before the show would roll. Then I read this morning that I was given 4 passes to replace my tickets while others were given 4 passes and refreshment vouchers as well for their return trips, even offered to rebook their next time to see the show!! While those of us ushered out at the back of the theatre were simply given 4 passes and a less than oh well its not our fault we cant do anything excuse. I will be in contact with management TODAY! You ruined a delightful evening out and have left a sour taste in my mouth despite how comfortable your seats are in your theatre! *****EDIT TO REVIEW**** I contacted the theatre, I spoke with Josh, explained what had happened the night before. He was just arriving at work that morning and so he said no information had been left for him, shame on the managers from the night before they dropped the ball again!!!, Josh said I have ONE SEAT, ONE!! for Saturday morning, if you want it you can have it. As it happened I could make that show, my hubby could not, hubby said go ahead!! So I went! The show was wonderful. Disney did put a lot of emphasis on close ups when they should have pulled back and showed the full cast dancing. But over all it was a pleasure to see Newsies on the screen. It was great to see local Andrew Keenan Bolger on screen since I had not been able to see him in NYC, schedules just never clicked. So thank you to Josh at AMC JOHN R FOR MAKING IT RIGHT! I will try and come back....when I find something worthwhile to view on the movie screen.

I have been going to AMC John R since I was a little girl, now Im 27 and bringing my own children. Ive come here with my Dad to see every Star Wars movie released since Episode One, every Lord of the Rings, every Harry Potter movie. Now I come here with my kids and have the pleasure of doing the same thing. Ive came here for dates when I was a teenager, and dates with my husband now. Everytime Ive been Ive had a magical experience. Theres no other way to describe it. The management is great, and their team provides excellent customer service. The rewards program is amazing, the reclining seats are SO comfortable and the whole building, even the parking lot, is always clean! We wont go to another theater. But what compelled me to actually leave a review today was one staff member here in particular. Her name is Kate and from the time I talked to her on the phone to ask a question, until we arrived the same day to see Cars 3 in 3D her customer service skills really impressed me. I made sure to let her manager know, but Im hoping this review will find its way to corporate because she, and the manager on duty, deserve recognition. It is my twins 8th birthday today (June 26th, 2017) and when they saw their birthday crowns they pulled out bags of Cars 3 collectable pins and gave each one of my twins the full collection. Both women were so incredibly kind, polite, and engaging. Im extremely impressed and happy with my experience. Thank you Kate for helping to give my twins "their best birthday ever"! :)

Well, I dont know what to say anymore about Star John R. The upgrades to the seats are great, but the show as a whole is getting worse. The bathrooms were disgusting and I had to search for a stall with TP. The theaters themselves are not as disgusting, but pretty close. I second what Jo said. I know it has to do with the clientele, but they need more staff cleaning. The staff at the concession are very, VERY slow. Even after this, the worst part of the night, was leaving the building and trying to leave safely. There was a small group of people screaming the "N" word at each other (just like they were in the theater during the movie we saw) apparently arguing about something. We were just in a hurry to get out before the shooting started. Its a shame we feel like we cant and dont live any place safe anymore. So much for Start John R. Time to go more north.

This theater was just alright...I have seen 2 shows here and neither of them were stadium seating. The cost for a ticket is about $10 per adult with no student discounts (pricey in my opinion). They do offer the newer titles, but for the cost i would definitely look elsewhere. The staff was friendly, and the bathroom and theaters were well kept. I am just used to having student discounts and I feel that $10/ticket is a fairly high price for any show. I am used to Goodrich and NCG cinemas pricing and their student discounts which are around $5-$7 total per ticket, which is much more affordable, especially in these tough times. 2 stars for having 2 new release movies in just regular seating at $10/ticket and no student rates. Did not have snacks so cannot comment, rating strictly based on seating and cost.

very comfortable seats, unfortunately they were sticky and dirty as well as squealing every time I reclined them however that isnt the reason I gave 1 star - that would be the concession stand. So I would say $7.50 for a medium popcorn and $3.99 for a 20 oz bottle of Dasani is criminal for any normal business to charge. Those are concert or sporting event prices, not an everyday trip to the movies but if Im gonna pay that amount I expect at least average quality food. My popcorn was cold, stale and left the same nasty taste in the back of my mouth that burnt microwave popcorn does. While I was there in the afternoon and not prime-time, for the prices they charge I feel I can at least expect something that had butter put on it today and not last week.

Out of all of the theaters I have ever been to, I have to say that this is my favorite one hands down. The reclining seats are comfy and comfortable for watching a movie (to the point that Ive seen some go to sleep.) Service is great though I believe they removed the Stub Membership line from the recession stand. I am a frequent movie goer (I go at least once a week) and they has been my go to spot for most of the movies I go see. The price is a bit higher than the others but you pay for you want. I like reclining seats and Im willing to pay for it. If you havent been, I at least recommend you to give it a try. You might not want to go back to the others afterwards.

I love the seats. Love the renovations. Most of the people who work there are great people - very friendly. BUT!!! ITS ALWAYS DIRTY!!! The bathrooms are a mess. Water all over the sinks. Dirty paper towels spilling out of the receptacle. The area around the drink machines are always a mess when Im there (never used to be, but are now). Spills all over the floor, the counters are a sticky mess. Granted, its the patrons who make the mess, but more attention needs to be paid to keeping it clean for those of us who dont leave a mess. The coke in the machines have been empty lately. Youve got a good thing going, Star John R -- dont ruin it!!!
