This Is where I stay every time I visit because theyre the only ones sending me free rooms all the time. Lol might have to do with how much I play. You have to be signed up for their player club (think its called bconnected) and then just play a bit and theyll start sending you offers after so long. I play slots mostly. They have a decent amount of tables and tons of slots to keep you busy. The buffet has actually gotten better the past few times I went. Last time it was closed due to construction though. Ive tried the ondori Asian kitchen also which has sushi and other Asian dishes. I enjoyed the sushi, havent tried much else. They have happy hour drinks and food, I think its like 2pm-5pm and one like 11pm-2am? I think its one happy hour before dinner, one late night happy hour. The rooms are usually nice. Havent run into many issues on that front, I got a room once that wasnt cleaned but they corrected it right away and gave me another room. I think check ins at 3pm, they start allowing you to check in around 1pm though if you want. If you check in before that, they charge a couple fees so its worth it to wait the couple hours. Theres a movie theater up stairs near tgi fridays and the buffet. Look for the escalator. Theres also an arcade for the kids next to the theater. Concessions can be confusing at the theater as its not run like other theaters, you basically walk through the line and pick out whatever you want on your own, then walk to cashier and pay them for whatever you got. Other restaurants include tgi fridays, the buffet, alder and burch, ondori Asian kitchen, fudruckers, sbarro, subway, baskin robbins plus I think theres like 1 or 2 more not coming to mind. If you stay there, they give you coupons for all these places. Theres the alligator bar, crawfish bar (i think its crawfish bar, next to alligator bar), and one that kind of wraps all the way around near the sportsbook. All good places to hang and play some video poker. The bar by the sportsbook has a lounge you can just sit around and hang out in. Been in the pool once and it was decent. There were already a ton of people there due to it being summer so kind of hard to locate spots to put your personal items. Last time I went they were having some pool party with a dj that went well into the night and could be heard in all the rooms in the hotel so if you or anyone with you would have tried to sleep early, you would have been s.o.l. it was a weekday too, which is always when I go because my free room offers are always Sunday-thursday. My mom got a massage last time she came with me. I think it was around like $70-$100 for a 30 minute massage or something like that.

There is a lot to do here. For children, there is the kid zone with childcare available and an arcade. There are a variety of restaurants including TGI Fridays, Fudruckers, Subway, Starbucks, Coastal Cantina, Baskin-Robbins, Rocky Mountain Chocolate, and Sbarros. There are a variety of bars including an Oyster bar, Crawfish bar, Brendans Irish Pub, Bourbon Street Lounge, Bowling Lounge, and Bailwicks. Bailwicks also provides live music. Of course, there are slots, table games, race and sports book, keno, and poker room. If you want to see a movie, theres a Cinemark theater. If you would like to go bowling, that is also available. There is a liquor store on the premises with okay prices and a good variety. If you prefer fruity wines (white and blush), their selection is limited. As for the rooms, I stayed in a queen suite with two queen beds, 11th floor, facing the pool/car garage. The air conditioning works very well, but is a little noisy. The beds are firm and supportive. 3 king size pillows are provided. There is a desk with lamp and 3-prong plugs, 3-drawer dresser, TV, 2-drawer night stand, couch, coffee table, and arm chair. All lighting for the room is proved by 3 lamps, which does not brighten the room very well. There is no fridge or microwave, and has one economy 1-cup coffee maker. The bathroom is spacious, has one sink, a toilet, and tub/shower. My only complaint is that the grout and caulking in the shower/tub area needs to be taken out, thoroughly cleaned, and redone. There is black mold growing in these areas. There are plenty of outlets. TV channels are limited. For the money you will spend, this is an ok hotel/Casino. I gave it 3 stars for all of the activities and dining available. It is not the best room Ive stayed in and its definitely not the worst. Please make sure to read and understand all of the fees you will be charged. There is an in-room spa fee ($17.99/day), that includes the coffee maker, hair dryer, 1Mbps wi-fi connection, and in-room safe. This fee is charged to every room, no exceptions.

If theres one thing I learned from my stay at the Orleans is that one cannot take casino reviews without a grain of salt. Just look at the reviews and youll see this hotel rated very highly. Zoom in a bit and youll notice that in fact what we see are not objective reviews, but rather, people posting reviews about "their favorite place." Yes, people do grow attached to a particular casino and will not badmouth their "alma mater." If you dont believe me, just look for a review on a famous bed bug report site where one person said she found bed bugs at the Orleans, but was unsure whether she should report it or not, since she "likes the hotel and the staff so much..." Well, that gives an idea of what goes behind these reviews, but I digress... We decided to try a hotel outside the strip since we have two kids and were not that interested in the nightlife. I checked the online reviews (see above) and decided on the Orleans. The place is big, like many places in Vegas, but its also old. Very old. The casino is old and smelly (most casinos are smelly, but this seems to be in the top 25%). I could take that, but the problem is that the rooms are also old. Our room had very old wallpaper, old shades, old carpet, and old furniture. The bathroom was old and had a burnt light bulb. The toilet was leaking, and the shower grouts had mold everywhere. The room has an LCD TV with basic cable channels (the typical "hotel combo"). Of course, despite being a "non-smoking" room, the smell of cigarettes was everywhere, which was the absolute worst part. But not all is lost: The A/C was noisy but worked well. Our room was missing one towel and had the safe locked up, but this was promptly solved. The isolation from the outside world was also excellent -- you cant tell if its day or night outside, which I quite like. Conclusion: If you dont want to spend much and dont mind the smell of cigarettes and an old room, the Orleans is the place for you. For the rest of us, refreshed rooms would make the place much more appealing.

The hotel is in severe need of a makeover the Orleans theme with alligators and masks is dated, room carpet was dirty and soiled, bedspread had a hole from a cigarette burn. The front desk staff were not polite. Very smoky in some parts of the casino. Management needs to have an aggressive, ongoing improvement programme, now its going to be extremely expensive and difficult to bring the property up to the standard of competing hotels. Bathroom floor not damp mopped for 7 days. Food was below average in the buffet (the Mongolian grill cook (an older gentleman) was ignorant and abrasive), food was not hot, mashed potatoes tasted imitation, vegetables were overcooked, fruit was under ripe. There should be more emphasis on Cajun style food Overall I would not go back. Golden Nugget much better value and in better upkeep. The gaming tables were usually only half full, lowering the table limits from $5.00 to $3.00 would create a more exciting atmosphere and probably generate more cash flow for the hotel. The sports book area was dead. During 6 days over Christmas there was no live entertainment at the facility. The line ups at the buffet were unacceptable, Why are there so few cashiers, this is a terrible bottleneck, there were lots of empty tables but the line up took up to 45 minutes. The Hotel needs a really good shake-up from top to bottom to survive, its almost as if the owners are just going to let it sink, we have been customers for 15 years and have witnessed this decline......sad
