This remains one of my more favorite open-air venues in Kansas City. The stage setup and grounds positioned well for day or night shows, and the ground slopes away just enough to ensure good viewing from just about any spot in the place. Folks can generally move about freely and take in any performance from just about any angle. However, the venue is starting to run down a little. You can only party in your backyard for so long before it starts to look (and smell) a little funky. It is not just that though. There are a couple of things that are a bit silly, and contribute to my feelings about the excessive cost of many of the shows at this venue. The latest annoyance on the list, water bottle caps. On this visit, I discovered the venue does not permit anyone to keep the cap on their water bottle. Several asked to keep this harmless item, but the attendant dutifully sneered that “policy” required they keep them. Apparently, his personal policy is to also keep my change and tip himself. As a quick reminder to that little joker, I tip you. You do not tip yourself. That policy of yours will cause you to lose your tip every time and on any future visits. What the hell is that water bottle cap thing all about though? The venue has policy to take the cap off a new bottle of water and throw it in the trash to save the consumer from what exactly. What are we addressing with this policy? I suspect, only the ability to conserve water and associated costs with the same. There can be no good logical reason for this policy. The only upside is the cost of $2 per bottle, which is definitely more reasonable than other beverage prices. Indeed, it is much more realistic than any other venue I have been to in the City, where the price of a bottle of water is often as much as a soda or beer.

Great venue, the wood chips you stand on can get a little annoying but its better than concrete or mud. The staff are really chill, they care less about trying to bust people for...certain substances and more about actually helping people and making sure they are safe. They even put out cups and coolers with free water so people stay hydrated.

I recently purchased VIP tickets for the Friday night Samantha Fish concert, and my fiancee and I enjoyed the VIP benefits; VIP entrace, indoor bar, indoor restroom, access to a VIP area right next to the stage, indoor viewing of the stage on TV. Overall, it was a great concert, and I would absolutely do this again.

Loooovvvvedxxx this venue. Awesome outdoor stage cool crowd. Pretty clean. Could be a whole lot cheaper. Its all overpriced. They could also use a second bigger bathroom because a 20 minute wait to pee due to one stall is ridiculous. Saw the dirty heads and sublime with time last night and it was an amazing show.

GREAT Music Venue! Outdoors, connected to Grinders Pizza so you can get a beer and order a pizza and eat it outside while listening to music. They have a great variety of national & regional acts come thru here. Try to see a show here. I think you will like it. I saw Robert Randolph here and it was really good.

Fantastic music venue....I really do like this place. However, bring bug spray...the dreaded oak mite loves the mulch that covers the ground here. My girlfriend is covered head to toe in bites from the show two nights ago. You wont feel them bite, but you will be miserable the next day.

Great shows! The outdoor venue is rather cool. Heads up they have wood chips on the floor. You typically have no re-entry. They didnt have enough restrooms for the show I attended. Food is offered and it tastes great but a bit of a line. Overall though had a blast and will return.

Saw 311 in a packed venue. The ground has large pieces of wood mulch that is difficult to walk on. When it is crowded getting to the bathroom to drink area is tricky. Portapotties only. Go expected less and you wont be disappointed.

Great venue! They dont rape you on tickets or food or beer. Always laid back. Its even a place you can bring the whole family. Patio is nice during these nicer days. Just a great place to hang out and have a beer overall.

Love this music venue, standing room only so able to walk about freely or find a good spot on the slanted hill to get a great stage view. Several bars within the venue, and bar food offered from Grinders in the back.

Worst experience ever. Band never showed. No refund AND they have a no re-entry policy even with your ticket. Met the owner on the way out and he was a pompous jerk as well. Just classless.

Great outdoor music venue! Depending upon the crowd, some shows you can bring in Lawn Chairs. Staff has always been friendly to me and my family. They do get busy during concerts...

This place just rocks thats all there is to it. The easy being you connected to grinders feels great food. Only problem I have with it is how expensive drinks are during shows.

Staff was unhelpful and didnt care if they got our business or not. Tickets were listed for $11 when they were actually $28. Horrible website and help line.

Fun, friendly venue for live music. Could use faster or more beverage service during crowded concerts, but the staff is friendly and courteous and helpful.
