This place is a summer must ... As often as possible! Why? •Free live music (check online for schedule? • A great place to pause, after or during a spin around the lake, take in the view and breezes off of the water • Clean Restrooms • Tons of Seating • Bread and Pickle - a casual, walk up to window and wait for your order place but otherwise, far from the typical, waterside, snack bar. From their website: Open now through Labor Day, 7am-9pm. Serving locally farmed &sustainable picnic foods, local craft beer & wine, and free wifi! Tip Look for free parking around the lake or down nearby streets.

Beautiful park, well laid out, snack bar is fully equipped to feed you and your family. At the Bread and Pickle you can get lunch, dinner, salads, sandwiches, burgers, dogs, fries, beer, wine and pop, ice cream. The park is situated on beautiful lake Harriet for swimming, canoe and kayak rentals and many other water sport rentals. A superbly maintained walking and biking path surrounds the lake and pets on leashes are welcome.

Parking is scarce on a busy day (plan on finding someplace farther away) and is $1 per hour, but huge playground for the kids, bandstand with free concerts in the summer, and nearby free beach (where the ducks are seemingly unafraid to paddle right next to you). You can also take a leisurely stroll around the lake, ride the trolley car, or walk a little further to Wild Rumpus bookstore, or Sebastian Joes ice cream.

I love this park. I enjoy walking around the lake and sitting by the shore watching the sailboats. There is a small snack stand called Bread and Pickle which features local brews and Johnny Pops! Concerts routinely play in the bandstand during the summer months, and if youre lucky you can catch a ride on the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line! I highly recommend making a visit during the fall to ride on the Streetcar!

Looking for a 2.8 Mile hike/run to burn some time in your day or just get some fresh air? This is your place. Nicely paved path, food place, band shell, beaches, kayak, canoe and waterboard rental. This lake is probably my favorite of the 3 in this area ( including Calhoun and Lake of the Isles.) For some reason I almost always gravitate more towards Harriet when deciding which lake to visit.

The trees are providing more shade these days so...thats a good thing. This bandshell is gorgeous. Although not the same one as when I was a kid I still enjoy attending these free concerts. The groups that get booked offer a wide variety of music. Tonight is one of our favorites: The Classic Big Band with the vocal group The Nostalgics, with our friend Reeves Cary.

All sorts of activities of you love waking biking or swimming, or just sitting on the shore. Kayaking and paddle boats available too. Beach is kind of small, but kids would enjoy it. Roadside parking available, and paid parking too. $1/hour. Brad and pickle eatery available. Changing rooms available so carry extra clothing if you want to take a dip.

Lake Harriet is an absolutely beautiful area. There is a 3-mile walking and bike trail that goes around the entire lake. These trails are nearly always busy in the summer, but that shouldnt turn you off from going out for a few hours. There are a couple beaches, a bandshell, and a small refreshment stand. This is an excellent place to spend the day!

Great place for family fun especially on Friday nights. During the summer you can watch a band performance and at dusk catch a movie on their Jumbotron make sure you bring plenty of treats for the kids and libations for the adults. Dont forget the blankets and bug spray. A perfect snack bar for ice cream too and popcorn.

Beautiful setting right on the lake, free concerts most evenings in summer offering all kind of musical styles, plenty of parking, bench seats (usually full for bigger draws) or bring a blanket or lawn chair and sit on the hill, burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, drinks, etc. in back of bandstand.

Was visiting Minneapolis for the weekend and this was recommended by Google as a must visit spot. I was extremely glad that I decided to check it out. The area was gorgeous, it was very clean and overall its just a nice place for hanging out and relax with friends and family.

Beautiful paved trials for walking, cycling, bringing your small children, your dogs, or to go by yourself. A successfoul outdoor pavilion with live concerts through the summer. Being a picnic or can buy food and love cream at the concession bar overlooking the lake.

This area is a big tourist attraction. The parking always sucks and the walking trails are always clogged with yuppie walkers and runners that hate going around you if your walking with kids. The area looks nice but watch out for the snobs around the trails.

So much to do here. Loved the paddle boats. Bandshell and the little restaurant with great ice cream and coffee to enjoy the lake atmosphere. I want to go here every day. Dont forget to take a trip on the streetcar on the north side of the lake.

Terrific pavilion with yoga every morning and music every afternoon through the summer. Bring a picnic or try the food at bread and pickle next to the pavilion. And kids are happy to at the newly remodeled playground area.

Had best time enjoying walking by the lake , although near concert/open air theater its not very kid friendly because of the platform which looks out at the lake , other than that its wonderful place to just relax.

Great place for a relaxing picnic or walk, not as crowded as Lake Calhoun, which is a free trolley ride or short walk north. Free concerts at the bandshell in the summer and tasty treats at the Bread & Pickle cafe!

This is my favorite place to eat. They have great food, the best popcorn, and an amazing view of Lake Harriet. Also, it has bands playing some nights, but other nights you can find your playful kid up on stage.

A great venue for outdoor concerts in the summer. We saw Romantica recently and it was great. They often have movies after the music, but theres a considerable set-up time involved, do you need to be patient!

Great place to listen to music or watch a movie during the summer. Watch out for mosquitoes though and bring bug spray. Great location to hangout with friends or family as well near the lake.

Love attending the summer concerts here. My Girlfriend and I ride our bikes here and listen to some great music. My only wish is that they would have more musicians or bands you can dance to.

Beautiful lake with a nicely maintained path. This lake is a bit quieter than Calhoun but just as scenic. Enjoy some ice cream nearby at Sebastian Joes or some live music at the band shell!

This park is beautiful, offers great views, a path around the lake, and snacks and ice cream at a little stand. Very quaint and perfect for any summer night. Definitely a popular place.

Pack a picnic lunch or grab something fantastic at Bread and Pickle. Live events are frequent. Im sure there is a calendar somewhere online but we like to show up and be surprised.
