This casino is a cruel joke! I went in, hit my game (craps) and yeah Im horrible at it but at least I have fun. The mood of the entire room sucks. I try to crack a few jokes with employees working the table and area for nothing. My comments and attempts to lighten the dread and gloom of the section were lost on these people who obviously hate their job.(except the guy at the front door, he was kind) It was a sat. Nov. 1st 2014. Daylight savings time night. I had never been to this casino before but if thats the best attitude you get on a saturday I can only imagine what its like during the week. I was lured in by the promotion loose $50 and we give you $25 back which is like half your loses back .. right? wrong. I gave my I.D. to the boss at the craps table to get a card to track this. She tells me that she cant print me a card (prob. because that would mean doing something like work huh) but she has me in the system. I loose almost $400 through the night. So before I go to leave the casino I go to the cage to get part of my lose back....NO in fact Ive not been placed in the system at all. The lady most likely ( in my meager opinion) saw that I had an out of town I.D. and took advantage of a mark. Something she must have been trained to do. Save you some time, just go to biloxi like I should have last night.

I was excited to check out a riverboat casino, and in the area for work. The outside looked awesome, the inside was super smokey and had garbage on the carpet. We clearly didnt know where to go no signs just looking lost, and it was really hard to find anyone that worked there that wasnt avoiding eye contact and walking off. Finally found where you sign up ourselves and got in line. We heard some casinos put a little money on the card your first time, we told the girl at the desk after waiting in an impossibly long smokey line it was our first time. She asked us info like our phone number, addy, email... we figured they were confirming we were new. She gives us our cards, saying nothing. So we go off to the slots, and find a $0 balance. Why did they need all our info then? Whatever, we go to a touchscreen machine, to try to put some money on the card. It asks us for our pin. We werent given a pin, and the number on the card doesnt work as it. At this point, Ive inhaled enough second hand smoke to take a year off my life. Even the tiny non smoking area on Level 1 (down the escalator) has ashtrays and people smoking. I also saw very few cocktail waitresses, and none were carrying any drinks or asking anyone what they wanted. This place had the best reviews? Oh what a world.

I love this place I went with my son and the both of us had a GREAT time there was alot of tables to play and there was a ton of slots we went to all floors and played all night I was not to Lucky but my son was. And I had a great time still if you have not been please go... And if you do we went to the main restaurant and it was GREAT the food was perfect and we both had the prime ribe and it was cook just the way I like it and my son said his was perfect as well and we had a nice bottle of wine with our meal and it was all under $100.00 so it was a great price. As well and they have semi. Truck parking in a safe spot and for cars GREAT spot right up front and the shuttle was always there when you needed it the staff was GREAT very nice and respectful and if you want drinks theres always someone walking around and they will get you anything not just water beer to but we both dont drink. I saved this in my best Casino to go to and I will be back anytime I come to Mississippi.

My wife and I stayed two nights in Vicksburg and we visited the Vicksburg National Military Park and the local casinos. The Ameristar Casino was one of the nicest we have visited in Mississippi. It was upscale, the staff were smartly dressed, and the casino was clean and well maintained. We are not smokers, so we appreciated the two large "No Smoking" gambling areas. And the air handlers worked well so the smoking was not obtrusive in the rest of the casino. There were many slots (including top technologies) and other machines as well as dealer games. We had lunch at Bellas Bakery & Cafe and were also impressed with their friendly servers and the quality of their food. The manager made a point of coming by our table to see that we were satisfied. We did not visit the buffet and did not stay in the hotel so we cannot comment on them. But Ameristar in Vicksburg is as close to Las Vegas as you will get in Mississippi.

I visited Ameristar Casino on Saturday June 11th 2016 for the first time ever. As far as Casinos go, it was a nice facility. Laid out easily, fun machines albeit dry wells. I did enjoy their 50 for 50 promotion because that first round went fast so it was nice to get it back and I walked out with a little bit so that was cool. I will say that their no smoking area was kind of a joke because the section butts up against the smokers and I sat across from a woman who blew smoke in my face for twenty minutes until I could cash out and move. I wish they would make their downstairs area entirely no smoking for people like me who value their healthy lungs. Their staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Whenever I had a question someone was always there with a smile and the patience to handle my request. Next time I feel like losing a small chunk of my pay check Ill definitely keep Ameristar in mind.

We stopped here and we were excited to casino for the night. The casino itself is nice- clean, quick shuttle from the hotel, easy to move around, etc.... The problem was the cocktail waitresses/alcohol situation. When we got there, I asked someone (looked like a manager) where we could get drinks and she informed us to start and a cocktail waitress would be around. Perfect! (If that was the case) We sat for 15 minutes with no waitress in sight. Ok, no problem, well go find a bar. Head downstairs and no one is manning the bar. Hang around for a few minutes, nothing happens. Sigh. We ended up spending what money we had allotted (ahead) and left drinkless. Ameristar- we were ready to throw it down. We hung out an hour and on our last machine, saw the elusive cocktail waitress who promptly ignored us after I tried to flag her down. Pull it together. I wanted to give you my money!

Dont go here with anyone under 21 unless youd like to be treated like pariahs. My partially handicapped wife, 18-year-old son and I went to eat at the buffet. Using her walker, my wife asked the greeter how we could get to the buffet. He told her wed have to walk to the valet entrance (quite a distance) and ask for assistance there. Once there, we found no one at the valet desk and eventually found a parking attendant to tell us we needed to approach the service desk. There a nice gentleman explained we would need an escort through the casino floor and gave us the scarlet letter we would have to display while passing through. After suffering these indignities, the food was second rate.
