If I could give zero stars.... All thumbs down for this sad remnant of what was once a fun Casino in Illinois. Visited Mothers Day cause mom lives slots. I hadnt been here for 20 years. We started with the Mothers Day buffet for 21.99 a person. Pure YUCK! Dried up dishes of grease covered grade zero food. Servers were kind - only good thing. I dont even want to remember the after burn! Bathrooms on this place arent even fit for dogs. Finishes peeling, floors broken, mold smell & sewer smell, mirrors so old couldnt see reflection. The slots SUCK! Old machines that dont spin. Penny slots that cost 60¢ a spin...and never pay, and I mean never! I spent a hundred bucks on several different machines and even the newer machines were outdated and cold, cold, cold. No winners listed anywhere. Whomever owns this establishment offends the gambling tradition. This place exists only to SUCK the pennies, nickels, and dimes stolen by parents from childrens broken piggy banks. Mom had fun, but shes 82 & blind. The least this place could do is offer wheelchairs for the elderly who continue to blow bucks on this misadventure.

Been there twice after the local bars closed. Tonight, after digging my license out of the protective sleeve it was in because my argosy card wasnt good enough (although it was plenty fine every other time), the female security guard denied me access because apparently she thought I was drunk. Im writing this immediately after she denied me access. Clearly not drunk. I guess if they didnt want my money, my 42 dollars an hour will take my business elsewhere. At the least, she could have said that before she made me dig my drivers license out of my wallet. Goodbye Alton. I guess St louis will continue to get my money, since this was only the third time I tried to go here.

I use to like going there and playing the older machines on the top floor. Now that they close that floor M-Th those machines dont cycle so I have not won or cant even play no more. They really have gotten bad . Nobody winning. They never have coffee made, no bartender , drinks or bathroom on that floor. I even tried to use a credit card to purchase a drink one time and they couldnt even take that because they werent equipped. They have really gone downhill. Laid off staff. Have gotten worse since they have been taken over by Hollywood. They dont even send out free slot play ever. They are sinking fast.

When my husband and I go to a casino we go to spend the money we take, as should anyone gambling. If someone drops $400 in penny slots in one hour, thats their fault not the casinos. We enjoy Argosys Alton Bell!! The staff is polite, it is always clean, the food is good (and even if it wasnt the best, how dare someone complain about it) its a FREE meal! I have been to casinos all over the world, with me husband being in the military. We do visit Vegas, but as for as choosing a hometown casino we will stay on this side of the river. We are VERY HAPPY with Argosys Alton Bell Casino!!

The exterior sign is super nice. The interior is quite dated. With that said, the tables have much lower minimum bets for craps, roulette, and poker compared the nicer local casinos. If you want to gamble just for fun with low minimums Argosy is the place for you. Not an elegant place. While there are people who look as if they rolled out of bed at any casino, t-shirts and other casual attire is common.

Cozy casino and concert area. Average food at buffet. The other restaurant food is better and so is the deli. The new bar is nice but I really miss the poker machines at it along with needing more selection of them at it. Table games are quick to close late even if your on them. But the keep open extra empty Black Jack tables. No more Mississippi Stud game. Mail offers are skimpy!

Dear Trump

Goons at door and presiding over the floor space, smells like mill due and mold. No bonus games, all chinese rip off games that pay 18 cents on a 2.00 bet and then plays the symphony for you as if youve won something. No entrance and have to cross a double yellow line to get into the parking lot which looks like a fema camp staging center. No hotel, miles from any services.

The food was delicious and the Blues band they had entertaining the customers were awesome! I must say they slots are a lot looser than other Casinos Ive visited. On the con side, I feel they should have a bigger variety of sugar free desserts for those that are dibetic are just watching their figure.

I wouldnt give i any stars but I had to. The staff from the host to the waitress had a disposition of a rattlesnake. The food was horrible The pot roast had the texture of a work boot. The best thing on the barfett was the ice cream.

I went on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. This town shuts down early. Very nice bartenders and staff. You may only have 1 drink at a time so no beer and a shot unless you have a boilermaker or something like that.

We love this casino but the slots are tight, its so easy to get to and if you are in Illinois you dont have to go through St. Louis! Food is pretty good most of the time, best of you have comps, get the card and use it!

I was denied entrance with a Puerto Rican license. I dont carry my passport because of my US citizenship. Somebody in here should know a little bit more about US territories, considering they work in a hotel.

Old machines, crappy food, but a few nice workers here. They seem to treat the "regulars" on the slots pretty well. Most of the areas were sad and empty... Poker dealer couldnt crack a smile for a second.

I dont really win jackpots or hit any big amounts really here personally but the atmosphere is chill. Workers are polite, helpful upon being asked, soft drinks and coffee are free and food has been great!

Machines are way to tight. Didnt see anyone doing any good. None of the machines where hitting. This has been my experience everytime I have ever been.

Its okay. The design on the exterior is unique, but interior is quite outdated. But still a great place to come, and but sometimes you do get bored.

The all you can eat crab legs and buffet is good but the price is too high, only going once in a great while cant afford to pay that much too often.

Argosy Casino is wonderful (formerly the Alton Belle). I have won a decent amount of money here. The place is really fun as well.

Been going to this Casino for over 30 years. This boat use to cruise up the river at least 3 times a day. The staff are Great.
