The commercials are catchy, but thats about it. This is not a RESORT and CASINO.. its just a casino with hotel rooms..period. We decided to get the stay & game package, which was a $152 value. We ended up with a handicap king bed room. While the room and bathroom was accessible with ample room to navigate if I had a wheel chair, the shower was not. This is not a barrier free room. We were expecting at least a pool - there was none. The casino is right on a bay off of Lake Superior.. and you cannot even go swimming if you wanted to. The shoreline is nothing but weeds and reeds. The only saving grace to it is the boat launch. When we received our "fun cards," we were asked if we were interested in golfing or fishing. We had brought our fishing gear with us and said FISHING! By the way.. is there somewhere we can fish here without us having a boat? The poor girl said...uhhh out back, maybe?! ...while we went on our walk to check out the grounds, we were sadly disappointed. We had a voucher for the dinner buffet, $15 in free play, a $3 voucher for a drink, and a voucher for the breakfast buffet. Aside from this, we had a room that is comfortable, but really nothing special with a TV, microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. We had one king sized pillow each, and they were flat. We asked for another pillow each, and it took over an hour to get here with us calling TWICE, and we stayed right behind the front desk. The food on the dinner buffet wasnt very appetizing in my opinion...and I certainly would never pay the $17 ticket price if it wasnt free. For Michigan being a state where it is illegal to smoke in a work place, and where you cannot even smoke in a bar, I figured we would be in a smoke-free facility. I do not smoke, and there are people smoking EVERYWHERE including inside of the restaurant. I sat down to a slot machine, and someones still burning cigarette was sitting in an ash tray beside me that I had to extinguish myself. Value wise its not bad; all of the hotels in the area are $150-165, but dont expect a resort because this isnt one. You cannot get a massage, facial, pedicure, or anything like that. The only activity you can do other than gambling is golfing, or if you bring your own boat, boating. We came here for more of a resort on vacation, and it didnt meet our needs at all. While it may suffice for the senior citizen crowd (which, there were more of them here than any other casino I have been to,) it severely lacks things for younger people to do. We are 30 and 35, and were looking forward to a good experience. We drove 4.5 hours to get here, and it was an incredible disappointment. Next time we will stay an hour from home and go to Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant instead...which IS a resort casino.

Check in is supposed to be at 3:00pm. We were a little early so checked in at 2:45. We still had to wait for 15 minutes to get our keys to our room. We go back at 3:00 to get keys and our room still wasnt ready. We finally got our room keys at 3:30 after 6 other couples had gotten keys and went on their way as we waited. We were not happy with the wait or the service at the front desk. Getting free drinks in the casino while playing was neat! Friday hight buffet wasnt my cup of tea... although they did have crab legs, I am not a fan, but the people who do like them were all over them! Seriously one of the most disgusting things I have seen was these people flocking to the buffet line with 2 plates to hoard crab legs!! The potatoes were gross, prime rib was cold and not tastey at all. The coleslaw was delicious!! Our bill came to $61 for 2 buffets and 2 drinks!!! Good thing we had gotten the dinner for free with our casino Package! The breakfast buffet was much better!

We bought the gaming pkg and stayed a couple nights. The pkg included (for each night) 2 breakfast buffets, 2 dinner buffets, $15 each gaming tokens, a free drink ticket for the lounge/bar, and a ticket for the daily drawing. When you added it all up it was a good deal !!!! Add to that free drinks (alcohol) while you are actively playing in the casino... We liked our room (non-smoking), it was comfortable and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The dinner buffet was very good each night !!! We were disappointed there was no pool which is why only 4 stars.

We have been here several times with a large group. THE GOOD: The food and Free drinks. Servers and wait staff. Poker tournaments, craps and some of the slot machines. The comedy show -best $5.00 ever. THE BAD: casino can get smoky. THE UGLY: the hotel choose to buy all new mattresses throughout the hotel. They felt like sleeping on the floor. Everyone in our group complained about the beds. After looking at the tags I noticed they were made in 1997! 20 year old mattresses! WOW! Really? pictured below are the tags and comedians.

We were out for a snowmobile ride and my sled broke down. I had to stay behind so my husband coild go home and get out truck. While i was stranded i went in the casino to stay warm. I could have been asked to leave because i was lortering but insted i was greated by several employees and held some very nicr conversations with them about what had happened. One even offered me a cup of hot coffee while I waited. It made being stranded and a little upset, almost right as rain. I give mad propes to the staff at the resort for this.

We had a wonderful time staying here over the 4th of July week. Great food at both the Back Bay and Cacys. Had fun playing slots. We stayed in the RV park right across the street. There are pull through sites with full hook ups. It was very quiet all days except saturday night when they had loud booming music at the golf course next door until 1am. You can pull right up in a boat and there are great spots to fish from shore right there..

This is not the place to stay if you are sensitive to smoke. The non-smoking rooms used to be smoking rooms and the smoke is still present. We asked for another room and got one in another section that we were told had never been smoking. The sink in that room was terrible. It was cracked and falling apart. Im dont think it could be adequately cleaned. The staff is very nice, but the hotel needs some work, at least the part we saw.

I was not at all impressed with this casino. Maybe it was just the day I went but it just looked like the few people that were in there playing were doing nothing but losing miserably, myself included. Im only giving 3 stars because the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Especially the young lady working the player card desk.
