Nice and up-to-date theater and not a bad seat in the house for the most part. However, this theater has reserved seating so last minute theater goers may still be subject to front row or no seats together. Although the seats are comfortable leather(?) and recline, not very comfortable for anyone over 6 tall and seats dont breath well, thus making it somewhat uncomfortable. Lastly, food prices are through the roof. A large popcorn and 2 drinks are over $20! This is more than the tickets! There is a bar in the lobby and can only guess at those prices for a drink. Ample parking and many screens. If you go a lot, its worthwhile to purchase the rewards card. I think its about $5. This does help offset some of the high prices.

I went here to see Star Wars. I saw it in theatre number 9. This review its about theatre number 9. I cant speak for the other theaters. It seems the projection equipment could use a tune up. The picture quality wasnt up to high standards. There was a distracting red glow on the left and right side of the screen. You could really see it in darker scenes. The blacks on the screen were a bit washed out. The audio was pretty good, but not as good as other cinemas. I dont think they are Dolby Theater certified. The seats were very comfortable. Every seat was good due to the angle of the rows. I may go back to try again. But, I really think equipment needs an upgrade.

Bad Audio & Noisy ceiling fans! We watched "Super 8" and all the dialogue scenes were very difficult to hear & understand. It didnt help that the ceiling fans in our theater were louder than some of the movie dialogue! The surround sound during action scenes seemed fine, but overall, I would have rather stayed home where I have a remote control to adjust the volume if needed. Good thing I had passes & a gift card for this or I wouldve been more inclined to complain. But, really, is that my job, to get up in the middle of a movie, to ask to have this fixed...Im voting with my feet, I wont be back...

I love AMC but its just unfortunate how much it costs to take your family out to see a movie. Tickets for 3, a couple of sodas and a popcorn is practically over $60 when all is said and done and dont get me started on the price you pay if you want a glass of wine (almost $13 and its not a big glass). So I return frequently bc the sound is great recliners are hands down the most comfortable around even better than Movico but again you pay for the comfort and leave feeling kinda robbed.

They have very plush reclining seats and you pick your seats when you buy your tickets. Just 2 recommendations...if its a popular movie I would get there early because the theaters are smaller and you might only have the front row as an option when you pick your seats. Also...when you pick your seats find out where the movie screen is on their little screen so you can pick accordingly. There is a bar to enjoy a drink before or after also. Enjoy your movie!

Dirty disgusting sticky stinky floors. Dont look on the floors behind the concession stand or you may vomit. I dont understand how the health board lets them operate in this condition. The audio crackles, the video skips, flickers and is always scratched or distorted. A wrecking ball may be the best improvement for this location. Take the time to go to Regal Cinemas in Crystal Lake and you will NEVER return to AMC in Lake in the Hills.

We have seen quite a few 3D movies here. I love the large reclining seats. Finally my back doesnt hurt after sitting for two hours! Its pretty clean. The bathrooms are large. They have a small bar (although Ive never had a drink there) and the concessions are varied; hotdogs, popcorn, large pretzels, chips and cheese, candy, Icees, etc. I liked that they offered hot tea! Of a good quality too. Check-in is fast and staff pleasant.

For those who have not been here for quite some time, they re-did the theater 5 or 6 years ago - Its now re-fit with nice recliner seating, that can be reserved ahead of time. There is also a tiny bar in the lobby that you can visit and have a cocktail or bring one into the movie with you. The rest of the concessions are pretty much the same. But the comfy seating and reserve ahead ability to pick seats is nice.

I love this theatre and believe that the changes being made throughout the years have been a vast improvement and really making the experience more enjoyable. The reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that because I feel cleanliness could improve- especially in the bathrooms and theatre spaces. It is gross to go in and find popcorn and sticky drink residue in the cupholders and armchairs sometimes.

Since AMC bought this place from Kerasotes, it has gone downhill. The ticket prices and snack prices have skyrocketed, the employees dress like they are members of street gang and you always want to make sure you have your wallet. The one really nice thing is that so many people have quit coming here, that the lines are short and you can always find a good seat and you can park close to the front door.

Comfortable seats and love the ability to reserve your seat. They need to get rid of the bar. The last movie I went to see had a patron that obviously had too much to drink. She became load and unruly. Many complained to the (17 year old) staff and they did nothing but peek in and leave. The drunk finally feel asleep snoring!!!

The theater is clean & the seats are great but the one thing I absolutely hate is they make you pick out your seat at the check in desk upon buying ones ticket. I prefer to walk in the theater & then decide where I want to sit. Going to see the movie at Elgin Fox just because I hate being told where to sit.

Good amenities... But service could be improved. With premiere membership had to wait in line behind everybody even though we were in premiere members line, associates wouldnt pay attention at all. Why offer a special line for stub members if it doesnt make a difference...

Dont go to this theater. Some people say that boycotts dont work or that they actually hurt Americans. You be the judge of that but just be aware that this entire theater chain is now owned and operated by Chinese. I say Buy American! Go somewhere else.

Very nice theater. Seats and sound are awesome. UX on the on-line purchase page could be improved to make the adding of gift cards and credit card a lot easier. Its a race against the clock (literally) to add credit card info and gift card info.

My favorite theatre across the board! I grew up in Chicago and frequented all the best movie houses and this is by far the best in my eyes. I appreciate the recliners and the great food. Great kids working there too, very polite and friendly.

I love this theatre! I enjoy kicking back in the reclining seats and watching my favorite movies in comfort. The theatre is clean, the staff friendly. The popcorn and snacks are tasty and the lines move quickly. Its a great place to go!
