I am by no means an expert in casinos. In fact, this was my first time at one. As a casino virgin, I wasnt sure what to expect. That said, here is my opinion of this one. Appearance wise, this place was very impressive looking on the outside. It almost looks out of place at the Kellogg Avenue location it sits on. Inside, it was clean, very big, and thankfully not as loud as I thought it would be. Granted, I did go on a Sunday evening. The interior is huge. Countless gaming machines filled a cavernous room. People of all sorts milled about like bees in a hive. Though it all seemed chaotic, most people seemed single minded in mission: to skip some money into blinking machines with clever names with the hope of making a profit. I actually felt more in place there then I had tonight. The atmosphere was more casual and forgiving than I had thought. Throughout the gaming room, cashout ATMs were available, as were complimentary soda fountains and coffee. Wait staff were available for more custom drink orders. The staff who I did interact with were pleasant. There were some downsides, however. First, I had never used a gaming machine before (for the record, I did not check it the gaming tables such as the poker and blackjack tables), had no clue what was going on. With only the instruction of my girlfriend, I initially started out by wasting a few bucks on penny slots by mindlessly pushing buttons. That kind of sucked, until I figured out what was going on. Without a little bit of help, I found this to be extremely frustrating that there seemed to be no indication as to how the games on the particular machines worked. After all, most arent just a regular old slot machine. Those were ready to figure out. Its the ones that had 8 columns and convoluted rules that were frustrating. The biggest gripe, however, was the buffet. I have been looking forward to trying a casino buffet for years. Sadly, I was very disappointed. The buffet room was extremely large and looked promising. It wasnt until we got up to the food itself did we note that more than a few offerings just didnt look appealing. Even worse, it seems that temperature control of the food itself was lacking. Hot items, such as the fried oysters and calamari, were cold. The cheese platter by the salad bar was the opposite... instead of being cold, the cheese was warm and crusty, and the salami was sweating grease (which it doesnt do when its cold). At almost $30 per person, I expected better. As a note, our party of three did receive 2 buffet entries for free by signing up for a rewards program. Would I go back to this casino? Sure.... I left $15 richer, and my girlfriend won a hundred bucks, so no complaints about that. Will I go to the buffet again? Unfortunately, I went mainly for the buffet, so I was pretty disappointed.

I took my husband to Belterra Park Casino to play our favorite slot machine Thursday December 22nd around 3:45 PM. When we got to our favorite slot machine another person was playing it. So we sat at another slot machine close by to wait for our turn. After watching the player continually take his player card out, cash out a ticket, then put his player card back in with a $10 bill. We were perplexed by what he was doing. I watched this for approx. 1 hour. Then the player turned his chair around and pushed it up to the slot machine. My wife went to see if he was finished playing. No he wasnt. He went to the restroom for 15 minutes. He came back and started playing again with his same system of $10 bills. He did this for another 20 minutes. He then had his wife sit with the machine while he went into the players club for a drink. He was gone 20 more minutes. Came back and played again. After another 30 minutes he got up and stood approx. 40 feet away from the machine to talk to friends. He and his wife kept pointing at us because we wanted to play that machine. My wife went to see if he was done playing. No he left his card in the machine and $ in it as well. After 2 1/2 hours of this an attendant came over to the slot machine and it looked like he was fixing it. My wife again went to check and found that the attendant had locked the slot out for the player. We were told that he was a high club member (whale) and that they can request a slot be locked out for them for any amount of time. My wife saw them go to the restaurant to eat. That was the last straw. You lost revenue from us as well as others who could have played the slot machine! I hope you make a lot of money from your whales because you lost our business FOREVER! We liked wings and beer from the sports bar once a month, and enjoyed attending the live band concerts on Saturdays with friends. As far as the gambling we enjoyed it too. I am not a whale, but this is not acceptable as far as Im concerned. WE tore our player cards in half and threw them away. WE will no longer patronize your facility or any other Pinnacle entertainment establishment! Jacks, here we come from now on!

Our first time at this place was about a month ago. My fiancé and I go to casinos a lot however we normally go to Columbus. We decided to go to Cincinnati and try the casinos there. We went to belterra because on their website they say the give $20 free play to new members they dont the give $5. Which is whatever but the thing is the machines do NOT pay out we spend a nice amount of money at every casino we go to however we like to get the free play to see how the machines are paying before we use our own money. So we call belterra last night and ask if they have any offers or free play for members and to make a LONG story short the man I talked to on the phone told me yes you put your my choice card in a machine and pick bonus option and we would get anywhere from $10-$500 free play. Haha NO! We drove 4 hours almost to get there and no bonus option at all on our cards then when we tell the host she basically told us we were lying blah blah blah so we spoke with a manager who basically said he couldnt do anything but give us a free buffet? Im sorry but we drove 4 hours ate on the way because we dont normally eat at the casinos and all they could do is give us a buffet that we would never use and tell us were lying. Lol. This place is ridiculous and gives out false information. I DEFINATLY DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PLACE WHAT SO EVER.

I was was at Belterra Park last night and while I thought the facility was amazing, my group and myself were treated rather rudely and completely disrespected by the General Manager of the Stadium Sports Bar. George Brown was completely unprofessional and has no sense of customer service. Not only did he call us liars (4 guests) and insinuate hat we "fabricated" our story but also he tried to take our beer that we had paid for! To make matters worse when the bouncer offered to comp the beer George Brown quickly responded "I am not comping that, we do not comp anything" For being only the second day that Belterra Park has been open for business I am really astonished and amazed that George Brown would treat paying customers so poorly. George Brown is an arrogant, classless, and egotistical man. His actions and terrible level of customer service are certainly not congruent with what I have come to expect form a Belterra property. #FireGeorgeBrown
