Beds are ok, not always the most comfortable but not too bad. There are no fridges or microwaves which is a big downside. You have to request a room with a tub or else you might end up with just a shower, which nobody whos wanting to relax is going to really enjoy not being able to take a nice hot bath. The rooms are generally clean, never seen much dirt overall. One of the sheets had some small red stains and a tiny stain that looked like it could possibly be blood, so we just took that sheet off since the beds come with 2 sheets and a blanket to cover with. The bath tub was a bit grimy, hard to tell until your down by it and could see a sort of rim of dirt that you can scrape off. Which wasnt too bad we just used soap and a cloth to scrub it clean. So they definitely need to scrub the tubs more often, not just wipe them down or rinse. The TVs show up as compatible with your smart phones (as in you should be able to cast YouTube from your phone to the TV) but they will not connect. Instead they just say "Connecting" but nothing more. The rooms generally look nice. The bedside lamp that has two outlets on it, the outlets are very lose and one of them rarely would charge because of it. The charger just wouldnt stay in good enough to keep it charging. So its a bit hard to charge two phones and two laptops at the same time by the bed. The other outlets (2 or 3 of them) were in almost random areas in the room. But nothing that really bothered us much. The bathroom door wouldnt lock but we found out that it was because the door had to be lifted up by the handle once you shut it. The frame part and the door part werent properly aligned so you had to lift up to get it to click in. The pop machine by the elevators on our floor would not take any coins at all. And since we didnt have any other cash, we couldnt use the pop machine. The bus that takes you from the lodge (where we were at) was nice and clean and the driver was an older man very friendly. The lobby seemed nice and clean and the receptionist was nice to us. The pool at the casino area was nice, very simple. Clean. With a hot tub next to it as well. And chairs to sit. The wifi in the pool area didnt connect very well. But in our hotel room it connected just fine and ran fast so that was really good.

My first trip to this casino was very nice and interesting. They have a rewards program there called Rising Star Rewards. Its pretty standard to that of most reward programs of casinos in the area in that it is points/tier based. The atmosphere walking into the casino was very spectacular. Its set up kind of like a little town inside with all kinds of shops/venues lined throughout the main room inside just before walking into the casino portion of this establishment. It looked and made me feel like I was walking through Disney Land as the set-up is kind of similar to that of theres. Inside of the casino there are four floors with games on them. The first is the only non-smoking floor and the fourth is mostly office space. The third floor has all the table games on it. I really liked the $2 a hand video blackjack game that they had. I didnt do so well on my first visit as far as luck goes..I had a few hits for $10-$20 while I was betting the minimum bet on the slot machines, but nothing too big. I spent about $150 here over the course of 4.5 hours. I only played slots this time around. I noticed that the casino wasnt nearly as crowded as Im used to a casino being on a Sunday though..probably because Belterra is also located in the same region (about a 20 minute drive away). All and all, Ill definitely be back to give my luck a second shot here. Perhaps next time Ill go a bit earlier so that I can try out their buffet. -James

I have always loved going to the Rising Star. This time was not a good experience. We got a free room BUT I had to go to the dollar store and buy a pillow because when we got to our room I looked in the thin pillow case and there were previous peoples yellow slobber stains on them. The sheets didnt look or smell clean (the corners werent even pulled over the edges). The carpet turned my socks dark on the bottom. I didnt sleep well because I felt the sheets werent clean. To top it off, in the morning while doing my makeup in the bathroom, there were tiny bugs crawling on the floor. I have pictures and videos of them. Also there was tangled hair on the coffee pot cord. Gross. Coffee pots should never be in the bathroom anyways. The dining staff at the buffet and the restaurant were friendly. Food was good. The two workers (a man and a blondish haired woman) in the gift shop where I was looking at a ring to buy were discussing how they want to work somewhere else. After the third cuss word out of the womans mouth, I left. No respect for customers. I do not see me going back to Rising Star.

The hotel is excellent, especially if you get one of the remodeled rooms. The buffet is much better than Belterras. However, the gaming experience has taken a STEEP downward slide in the past year. The slot machines are the tightest Ive seen them in ten years. Its extremely rare to get any type of bonus and on the occasions you do, they pay very little (if anything). The "randomly selected" winners at the rigged drawings are the same people over and over and over again - mostly their favorite highrollers and people living in Rising Sun. Theyve gotten so cheap with their drinks, they are serving them ungarnished and actually taking inventory of olives and limes at the end of each shift! Due to the absurd, pathetic penny pinching by management, its no longer a fun or even interesting experience going to Rising Star any more. I would highly recommend that people just stay away, as I will be doing come December, since they DOUBLED the requirements for keeping a mid-level membership card for next year. Besides...you can play the same games on Facebook for free now!

I am a diamond card holder. Sonny D. changed the rules on locking a machine down from one time to two or three times!! At there discretion, of course. I was playing slots 4-18-15 and a woman played $20.00 and had her machine locked down for a hour.(am) then she had the same machine locked down again at 4:pm for a hour. When the casino was called Grand Victoria you had to have a lot of money in a machine befor they would lock it down! The woman that had it locked down for the hour DID not have a lot of money in the machine.I checked out of my room early, and left. I will give up my card status and will not go back. Also, the host show favortisim on holiday room bookings. Amy (host) told me I ONLY lost $15,000.00 and there were some that had lost more. even though I had rec. the invite and room pk. and kory told me I was in.I should have gave the rising star up then, this mo. my play is $4,000.00 (4-1-to 4-18-15 our money will go to another casino.
