First thing we did when we got here was head for the restaurants. Tried the Heron, and started with a green pepper onion ring appetizer. That was great, and a novel treat... unfortunately that was the high point of the visit. Serious lack of choices on the menu unless you want to shell out 24 bucks a plate, and even then the choices are lacking. We decided to head over to the deli instead. Wait was 30 mins plus for a simple sandwich. Excuse was a machine that displayed incoming orders went down in the kitchen... ok, stuff happens, I get it... but my wife was miserable at this point having worked all day without a "real" meal. I asked Mikel if he would at least comp the $14 meal for us. He asked if we had a players card and I said no, this was our first time at the casino. He comes back a few mins later with a card and a pin number for me...he asks if theres anything else he can do and I say no thank you, making the assumption that anyone would at this point... We head for the machines at this point and put the card in.... zero balance. Ok, must be an error, so I head to the players club desk to find out whats going on. Mikel is called to the desk to address the situation.. I explained what happened and he proceded to tell me that I told him I didnt want anything done about the meal. Whoa now! I had specifcally asked for a comp, and now this guy is all but calling me a liar. I make my case and he decides to offer me a $10 non gaming credit. I say fine..... turns out its only good on meals and it expires in 3 months. We hit the machines anyway, wife picks one she likes and is all of a sudden is horrified that she cant dial down a max bet before she spins.. wtf. I tried to change the bet again after her spin and accidentally hit the bet one button twice. Cant dial that down either. Try to cash out, no go on that. Ask for help and they say you need to complete the spin before the machine will respond. Made two bets we didnt want to take, and now my wife is pissy and doesnt want to play AT ALL. Disappointed in the service, disappointed in the experience overall. Definitely will not return here. Worst thing about it...this was our 1 yr wedding anniversary.

Ive been to Little River hundreds of times and very seldom had a bad experience. The Heron is a bit pricey and I dont eat enough to pay $19.95 for the buffet. My best meals have been in the deli. The midnight breakfast used to be a great deal but Im not sure if they still have it. I was a "Gold" member for over a year and the summer of 2013 I had cancer and didnt go anyplace. Well.... Im no longer a gold member..... if they were going to take that away, a short letter letting me know would have been nice. Since theyve "outsourced" the valet people, they are crap and crabby. They dont even know how to open a door so you can enter your car.... I had to walk around the guy! I had a $2 tip ready and took $1 back right in front of him and he replied in a disgusted voice, "Hope you can afford this!" I used to get greeted as if I were somebody special and they would even take my luggage and oxygen machine to my room if the desk said the room wasnt ready! All in all..... I used to win a little and put it back in, but I might just as well throw a $20 out the window now! Machines are way too tight! When you put $60 in a $1 machine, you should see a little action, but not anymore! Sorry the management changed, because the attitudes of all the staff have changed. Too bad.... theyre doing it to themselves. I used to enjoy it win or lose, but Im not at all excited about going up there any more...... Firekeepers, here I come and Gun Lake is a lot closer and I win or break even very often. Sorry Little River, youve got a beautiful casino, but less and less people are enjoying it, and I and my family and friends are included. Good luck!

Been going here for 12 years. The rv park and casino. Was our favorite trip of the year. We live about 250 miles away. Last couple years either havent gone or gone once ..we used to go twice a year. The rv park has almost doubled in prices last few years. We wrote and told them our opinion and heard nothing back. I also called and some assistant director called me back and said they checked other campgrounds in the area and they are right in line with their pricing.I told him other campgrounds dont have have a cash cow casino on their property and need the money to operate. He was tongue tied and didnt know what to say. A lot of people that have been going here are complaining about the prices for the rv park. Used to be 19.00 a night in the economy sites now like 37.00. So almost doubled. Funny I didnt get a raise of 50% at my place of employment. When we camped there last year a couple from Michigan camped next to us and told us a new GM took over and he raised prices on everything from rv park, hotel, food, gift shop to generate more money for rennovations!!! Funny all the rv parks around us that have casinos are cheap to stay ...because they know they will get your money the moment you step in the casino to play. And that is the way it should be. They shouldnt hike up the rates to stay there because they should want you to come there...HELLO!!!!!..marketing 101...Dont know if we will go this year..really sad was our favorite place to go...looked forward to it all year!!! All because of greed...

We love the drive from our home to Manistee through the Ludington area and always look forward to that beautiful drive. We always have nice "no smoking" rooms to stay in; the employees are very helpful and cordial whenever we stay at LRCR. The restaurants are comfortable and interesting with comprehensive menus; the morning breakfast buffet is second to none. We always find the cost of our stay very reasonable, which includes restaurants. On the downside: My wife likes to play the older style slot machines rather than the newer penny variety; last time we visited, she found payouts to be very low and didnt get any pays that were exciting at all; it seemed as though the machines were set to a very low payout which was really disappointing. She also noticed that many of the older variety of machines had already been replaced by the newer penny type units, which limited choices for her. I suggested that she take up Craps as an alternative to the slots, which she is currently contemplating. The biggest complaint we have concerns the widespread smoking taking place in most areas of the casino. I am an ex-smoker and really cant stand being in an area that permits smoking. We have made a difficult decision to only frequent casinos which DO NOT PERMIT SMOKING; therefore Im afraid that our future visits will be curtailed until such time as your smoking policy changes. We hope you will inform us if you decide to discontinue smoking at your casino and well be back!
