Where do I begin? Lets start with the staff. From the moment you roll up to the course there is someone there to greet you, take your bag, set up a cart and get you on your way. The Pro Shop staff is top notch and their resident PGA Pro, Lucas Hitchcock, is the guy you want to take a lesson from. The GM, Frank Ruffalo, will stop you to shake your hand and make sure your visit is the best it can be. The restaurant has a killer menu, great food and fantastic staff. This is how the front end should be. As for the course.....vast improvement from the goat farm it had become. With every passing day there are small but noticeable improvements to the fairways, greens, cart paths, bunkers and even the rough. They are DUMPING money into making this a top notch club that is challenging, playable and pretty nice to look at scenery wise. Check the place out. Youll be very surprised at what it has to offer. I have played it at least a dozen times since July and will continue as long as I have the ability to swing a club. Good work to all of you and thanks for giving me a place to call my club. Oh and Frank, White Caps like Tie Webb with a GR logo in the Pro Shop would be mint. :)

Heard that the course was purchased and reopening after having been closed for a year. Found out that the back nine was open while they worked on getting the front in opening shape. To be honest, I hadnt played there since the course originally opened because it didnt impress me. My wife and I went over to play nine. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up playing the back twice and had a great lunch in the restaurant. Had a nice chat with the new General Manager and was impressed with the plans he outlined to bring the course back into a first class facility. We will definitely go back and if the rest of the course works out as well as we experienced today my review will increase to 5 stars! The place does need some additional cosmetics and "TLC" but based on what we saw and heard today we are optimistic that we will have a great place to enjoy.

1st played this course when it was new, at the time i thought it was the best course i ever played. Only problem no one was there, lack of players with an expensive daily fee killed this place, MDM bailed them out but now runs it like there other courses miserably. The traps have not been repaired since the hurricane what over two years now. Play free drop out of the traps, the course design is awesome and is worth seeing but the conditions continue to deteriorate each year. It can be played on the cheap with deals from Golf Now and the golfing magazine coupons. Hope they invest some time and money and get this course back to where it should be.

hard pan ball ricochet to the left , right or 30 yards forward . fairways and greens have not been watered , came on one green with three sprinklers going and all soaking into a gully i guess the management co. not up to speed on how to run a golf course . ask to buy a logo ball for my collection of course i have played and told that management turned the pro shops down the last 2 years . my friend and i got a recommendation from a golf course that we played in the morning bad choice

One of my favorite courses. Not maintained as well as it was a few years ago but a very nice layout and the course plays much different from different tee boxes.A nice mix of holes that plays challenging from the tips to a nice fun layout from the front tees.I am an 8 handicapp and have always enjoyed playing this course. I like this course more than most munis ive played and recommend it to all skill levels just play from the tees that best suit your handicapp

If youre looking to overpay for a poorly maintained but challenging course, this is the place to go. Although its a hint at how bad my game is, I must share that the sand traps on all the holes were not raked or soft. The cart paths and bridges are rough. The ball washers were filled with dirty water and most didnt have towels. The course had a number of neglected details that ruined my experience. The people were very nice and helpful though.

Gilette Ridge provides a challenging test of golf. The course is well treed, carved through a wooded area with streams and woods entering into many shots. The greens are well trapped and guarded requiring well played approach shots. Gilette Ridge is in fair condition early in the season.

Great course! Always in great shape and fun to play! Friendly and helpful staff from the starters, in the club house and the restaurant! If you want a fun outing with friends this is a perfect place to golf! Very reasonable prices also.

Gillette is now in the Arnold Palmer golf group. They have revitalized this course, putting in a great future plan with a professional staff. From the golf course to the dining experience, this is a "must do" day of entertainment.

I had the illustrious opportunity to have one of Connecticuts best golfers Bruce Kraczkowysky show us how to swing properly and Gillette Ridge is a beauty to behold! I definitely plan to return.
