excellent and unique experience. guys running the place (the owner and some new hires) were very friendly. gave a brief information session about what to expect and what not to do (e.g. nothing is up in the ceiling). did the studio room, very very cool, some really creative puzzles, and a lot of finding the number for different number locks. specific suggestions/critiques: * more emphasis on the backstory/plot of the room or more effort to put you in the mood of the backstory. for example, the studio backstory is the artist was murdered there, but it only got mentioned quickly one time (in a very vague/general way, not as a compelling narrative) when we had just entered the room (so everyone was distracted) and no spooky mood music, or photos of the crime scene with the body or anything like that. i realize this would add a little time to the event but i think it would make the experience more fun. * they put up hints on a computer screen in the room if they feel like you need help (which is a great feature) but they should have some way to signal that they have done so, as a reminder to ppl that they have the option to go look at the hint and so you dont waste time not realizing one is displayed.

I love escape rooms, and had the pleasure of visiting escape new haven in my recent visit to CT. As the market for this genre becomes more competitive, there are more and more options to choose from for your escape night. Escape new haven should absolutely make your list. The rooms regularly cycle in and out and are low tech enough that you can get hands on with all the puzzles, while at the same time packed with sensors and automation that give your progression through the room a real sense of immersion and awe. Game master was also a real nice guy, and played the smash brothers theme to psych us up before we went in.

Went on Sunday for a small birthday celebration. We had a blast in "The Gallery"! The puzzles were challenging but not overwhelming. If the staff feels like youre stuck, theyll nudge you along with clues. I loved it because no one felt left out--there were enough clues that everyone had a puzzle to solve and we all had to communicate with each other to progress. This is a great activity for work parties, birthdays, family fun, etc. My group was all adults, but older kids (10+) would have definitely enjoyed the room we were in. I think everyone should try this at least once in their life!

My wife and I found this Escape after visiting a similar venue in NYC. We really love the scenarios and cant wait to run through them all! Plus, Tara is super sweet, always cheerful, and always makes the experience a fun one. ENH has the added bonus of changing the stories periodically so they will keep us coming back for more. Their stories are a bit more lock-centric than others we have tried, (if youve done one of these before you know what I mean) but they do have some other twists we havent seen elsewhere. Keep up the good work!

Ive never done an escape room before, so did not know entirely what to expect. Escape New Haven absolutely blew my mind! I, and the rest of my team had such a fun night. The puzzles were the perfect level of difficulty - we were able to solve them all in time, without feeling as if they were cheesy, or too simple. The theme of the room and story also added another dimension to the game. Overall, I had one of the best times I have in a while. Thank you, Escape New Haven!

I bought an experience for my 16-year old and three of his friends as a birthday gift. They knew they had an hour and a half to escape but I thought it would take them 45 minutes. An hour and a half later (awesomely spent at Caseus around the corner,) they arrived impressed. An impressed group of 16 year olds. You read that correctly. I would recommend based on their impressions. I want to take three or more of my friends with me to have an escape experience!

This was my first time doing an escape room and now Im hooked! The staff was friendly and helpful, and they gave hints that were subtle but helped steer us in the right direction. The level of difficulty was just right - we technically didnt end up escaping in time, but we were literally seconds away so they let us have our moment of victory even though we technically ran out of time! Will definitely be back again :)

Three friends and I escaped from The Crypt room. The puzzles were fun and challenging, without requiring much physical strength. The staff were friendly, explained the rules clearly, and provided just the right amount of hints (only when we were really stuck, and never enough to ruin the game). Highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves puzzles or video games with puzzle elements (think Tomb Raider).

Fun activity for a mixed age group - we went with my parents and my kids and all had a wonderful time. We came VERY CLOSE to solving the mystery, and everyone left feeling intellectually stimulated and energized. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves a good game, puzzle or challenge looking for something different to do in the New Haven area. A great memory for all of us.

Ethan is the most unreasonable, unprofessional person I have ever had to deal with!! Being in the customer service industry for years I know everyone has a bad day but he was the worst!! I would be fired if I spoke to people the way he did and offered no help what so ever!! Im sure the escape room experience is fun but I will never do escape new haven.

Had an awesome time at Escape New Haven trying out their new Game Show Room! The design and puzzles were very well developed and had variety so our whole team was able to contribute. Ive done a handful of escape rooms and this was one of my favorites. I would definitely come back to try the other rooms when Im back in the area!

My friends and I just did "the Crypt" on Saturday 4/22/17 and loved it so much. I would recommend this escape room to anyone looking for a fun, creative challenge. The staff was so friendly and engaging, the room itself was SO cool, and the puzzles were amazing. I cant speak highly enough about the experience.

Fun night! My adult sons, a gf and.my mom entered into a room uncertain. The puzzles were such that every one had an opportunity to shine! Our host knew when to offer advice and when to let us work through the problems. Each of us enjoyed our time and would do it again. Great team building experience!

This was really a great time. Very challenging... very! But fun! A great way to challenge yourself to think outside the box. It really helps to have a group of people since everyone sees things differently. The staff is great too. Will definitely do it again!

The staff was wonderful and respected my service dog, not trying to touch him or ask questions and that makes Escape New Haven a place I will always recommend for other service dog handlers to visit. We had a blast and the staff seemed to enjoy their jobs.
