I do enjoy going to the movies - but I honestly hate paying the price to enjoy them while theyre at the theater. Spending $10 a person to watch a movie, plus another $20 to get some snacks is a bit much - especially when I can wait for it to hit On Demand or Google Play. With that in mind - here we are. Last week we saw the new X-Men movie at another theater and today its "Finding Dori". My initial reaction to the theater is how big and open the lobby is. Also that they have a bar area. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and we were inside in no time at all. We had just eaten so I didnt really have any plans to visit the concessions stand. But when I saw they had Pepsi Products (more importantly, Mt. Dew) I did a 180 and headed to the counter area. 2 drinks (large and small) and two things of candy rang up to under $20. Which is impressive since at AMC you can spend that on 1 large drink, 1 popcorn, and 1 thing of candy. As we walked towards the theater I noticed that all drinks come with free refills and they have fountain machines off to the side so you can get those yourself. Heck, had I known that I would have sprung for a medium drink. The theaters are super nice. We were in #14. They have a nice stadium style seating, equipped with reclining leather chairs. We were the first to arrive so we chose in my opinion the best seat in the house - top row, middle! Not only do the seats recline, but theyre actually comfortable! You also get a good amount of legroom before you hit your legs/knee/feet on the chairs in front of you. Because of the stadium style is done so perfectly even a lady stuck in the 80s with big hair wont block your view. The screen is bigger than most standard screens. Picture and sound quality are top notch. With all that you get with free refills, comfy reclining seats, no obstructive views of the massive screen make this movie theater a great value! I can see coming back again and again just because of the value I feel I got for the price that I paid.

When we first got there, there were a bunch of 12, 13, 14, and 15 year olds asking people to buy them tickets for the movie IT because they werent old enough to purchase the tickets without an adult with them. They asked us and I told them no, sorry, I cant do that. Well, after we buy our tickets for $20 and our popcorn for $11, we went into movie room 14. When we went to our seats there were two teenagers behind us who rudely had their feet hanging over the seats. I politely said "Excuse us, were going to sit here." And they moved their feet. Of course its only the second day this movie has been out but we were really excited for this movie being that we are fans of the original and Stephen King in general. Well, what do you know, about 5 minutes into the previews the seats behind us filled up entirely with the 12, 13, 14, and 15 year olds. During the previews they screamed at every little jump scene on purpose, showing off in front of each other. They hung their feet over the seats, and they talked the entire time through the movie. One lady asked them 3 different times to please be quiet, but they didnt stop. They werent the only ones, there were younger kids in the back of the theatre too who were doing this and had their phones out taking pictures with the flash on. In all honesty, this was the worst movie experience I have ever had. Im not happy with the staff of Goodrich Hamilton 16 IMAX + GDX for not dealing with these kids, especially because I know they were screaming loud enough that they could be heard outside the movie room. This is the prime example as to why children are not allowed to watch these movies without a responsible adult around, and unfortunately the staff at the Goodrich Hamilton 16 IMAX + GDX did not do their jobs to make sure these kids had supervisors there. All in all, I had a horrible movie experience, and this was definitely a waste of money being that we also paid for gas to get to the theatre

Simply put avoid at all costs during peak hours if you expect to get what you pay for (I hear it’s a decent place to go during off hours so keep this in mind). During the weekends... If you expect to wait less than 10 minutes in line for popcorn and drinks, dont come here, the lines will keep you there for 15 to 20 minutes. If you expect to have 3D glasses available for you to watch the movie, and end up waiting for 10 minutes (while the film has already started due to the 20 minute wait in line for popcorn), then you wont want to come here during the weekend evening show. Lastly, if you expect not to have to kick people out of your reserved seats then you defiantly wont want to come to this place, unless you enjoy kicking people out of your seats then by all means this is the place. Not to mention the 60/40 ratio of the popcorn kernel to actually popped popcorn these kids are serving up behind the counter tasted like burnt garbage so if you plan on bringing Oscar the Grouch then hey you’re in good shape. Oh and dont forget the completely unregulated movie hoppers who think its a good idea to watch the end of the Jungle Book with their infant baby who cries during the second half of the movie. If you are a parent, well at least there is beer if money is no object for you might as well drink a few, and then at least you will have a legit reason for a headache you leave with, enjoy!

For us, the only alternatives for movies is either Castleton, or Anderson (Mounds Mall). We are very grateful this theater is nearby to us (10 minutes). We lived in the area when it opened and we were happy to have it...its still cleaner and more inviting than other theaters we have been to in the area. We have been here countless times, even had a birthday party there and are always pleased with the staff, the theaters, concessions, etc. I will RARELY see a movie anywhere else. They serve alcohol and some people are offended by that...i have kids and they dont seem to care about it. Ive never seen anyone being unruly or disrespectful in the theater, and i have attended many late night shows, even when they show the UFC, i have never witnessed any problems. I know that this theater was swamped the last time there were problems with crowds and fighting at Castleton because many families came to HTC to spend their evenings. Frequent Movie Goer plan is nice, you earn points toward free concessions. Its often busy on the weekends, with lots of teens, but they never seem to be an issue in the years i have been going. I dont really see how anyone could give a negative review in my experience.

As far as movie theaters go this one is by far my favorite. It is very clean, and they quickly get you through the concession and ticket lines so you arent waiting forever. Cleanliness is a huge perk especially in this day and age. From the theaters, concessions, games, floors, and bathrooms I find them to be very well maintained. They offer a frequent movie goer card which is A MUST if you love going to the movies. Whenever you purchase tickets you get points to earn concessions or tickets. Not to mention you get a discount with your card at the concession stand. While some of the combos are a bit high priced but you get a lot for the money also so I cant complain too much about that. It doesnt affect my rating of the theater so its nothing to big. The seating is very clean and comfortable in the movie theater, and there is also a bar for any that might enjoy that. In the main area there is air hockey, crane machines, basketball hoops, etc., for you to enjoy while you wait. Also a lot of times the theater will offer free posters, coloring books, etc for the kids. Out of all the movie theaters we often go to this one is by far our favorite.
