Vestavia Carmike is a good, clean theater... in my experience. Make sure you get a Carmike rewards card (or whatever its called) so that you can have it scanned at any Carmike when you buy tix and/or concessions. I recently got a free medium popcorn reward :) This can even be scanned off of your phone if youre so savvy. Anyway, more about this theater... never had any issues with the teens working the concessions/ticket booth being rude or acting like they didnt want to be working or anything like that. Typically pretty pleasant. Concessions options and prices are what youd expect. The theaters themselves have nice, comfy stadium seating and sound is usually good. I have experienced being in an action movie and the sound was kinda low. Also being in a non-action movie but the audio was quaking... so not sure how often that happens. If 3D is your thing... they offer it here. Halls are easily navigable with smaller annex concession stands (hardly ever seen open). Anyway, solid theater!

We usually go here to meet friends because frankly, for movies in the area you dont have much choice. This was a way better theater when it was owned by Rave. Carmike has let everything go just like their other area theaters. Rave seemed to genuinely care about your theater experience and the presentation of the facility, not just the films. Bathrooms are always in shoddy shape with inoperable soap dispensers and overflowing garbage cans. Theaters are poorly cleaned and run down feeling. Despite being a full price theater, the experience and surroundings feel cheap. Operators like this are what is going to make me stop going to the movies.

Love this one more than the other Carmikes in Birmingham since it isnt as crowded and it doesnt seem to have as many parents dumping their kids unsupervised as the others. The location also has a nice range in restaurants for before or after movie dinner. Love the super bargain prices but if I go any other time I buy my tickets from AAA at 8 each. Side note u have to be a AAA member to buy their discounted tickets but it makes it more affordable.

So my experience was AMAZING. This employee named Jevante helped me out so much and I SAVED money at the movies! He helped me with a cheaper price and was very kind, respectful and had humor and the girl Sabrina next to him was amazing too and just as sweet as she can be. I asked for extra butter and a mixed Frozen Drink and she didnt have no problems getting it for me while Jevante rang up the order. It was a good time overall. Thanks so much!

I used to really enjoy this theatre, but lately the quality has gone downhill. The last movie I went to showed a 1:45 start time. My son and I arrived at 1:35 thinking we were only going to have a short wait time, but without explanation or even a notice, the time kept passing. At 2:00 I went out to inquire about the problem and was told the movie time was changed to 2:30. Very bad business!!!

Always a good theater, but today not si much. The cheap suit manager was flirting with the girl in the ticket window while one guy is working the popcorn stand with a line 12 deep. After standing in line for close to 20mins and going into the theater the movie hasnt started. It is 15min past so far when it should have began. Small things but it is annoying.

Adequate. Theater 8 had a persistent buzz in the right rear audio channel and a chromatic aberration in the projector, which detracted from the overall experience. The space was clean and there was plenty of parking. Additionally, this theater seems to have a wider selection of smaller films than others in the area.

I like this place but its ten minutes to eleven on a Sunday morning and the bathroom looks like the communal cesspool at the last Burning Man. Maybe cleaning would help? When youre in Vestavia Hills you expect the bathroom to be cleaner than a truck stop restroom in Bessemer.

Good theater. Clean and comfortable seating. They have several coke freestyle machines throughout the theater. But, like all Carmike Cinemas, they have taken the policy that patrons must not have any practical means of self defense, a terrible inhuman policy.

The most beautiful theater Ive ever seen. Very nice theatre to catch a show. The decorum is worth going alone. Great atmosphere and an awesome location. I love the set up and the intimate atmosphere! We were able to get closer to the stage and the acts!

Great theater! Rarely crowded, friendly staff, clean, and conveniently located. Unlike the Summit (down 280) which is usually kids who have been dropped off by their parents, this theater rarely has the annoyances of public movie theaters.
