My family and I visited on 7/16/16; the Harbor Buffet and Casino. Food: The Harbor Buffet was horrible... You pay $13 for a very small buffet of unappealing food selections... No pancakes, waffles, nor french toast.. Hardly no choices for vegetarians except for the Spanish rice (somewhat tasty), Guacamole ( nasty), squash and zucchini (tasty), roasted potatoes ( hard and flavorless), mash potatoes with gravy(tasty), salad ( useless salad bar with nasty ranch dressing), and the chicken and wild rice soup was warm and tasteless... The Wild Rice needed to be cooked longer.... The desserts were horrible... I see why the restaurant was empty.... There were probably 10 customers in the entire restaurant... Service: Our waiter was nice and attentive, but the manager was very rude and lacked proper customer service skills... I had asked our waiter if we could take our drinks up to the casino... He had advised yes... As we were proceeding to exit the buffet, this short, African American, middle aged, bald male, with an oversized tan suit had stopped me and said very rudely, " you cant take your drinks out." I had advised that our waiter had confirmed that we could and his reply was, very sternly, " I said, you cant take your drinks out." Our waiter rushed over and apologized for the misunderstanding. However, the so called, " robocop attitude from this manager was unacceptable... He needs to be retrained with proper customer service skills... Casino: The Casino has a very stale old funk and cigarette odor... I believe its due to poor ventilation and old carpeting... The carpeting needs to be removed to assist with eliminating some of those odors... The refreshments stands needs better housekeeping... There were alot of staff just standing around having useless discussions such as, partying last night and getting wasted drunk with Co workers without servicing the patrons nor keeping the playing stations cleaned... The bathrooms; for some, has been upgraded, but the entire casino needs to be renovated all at once, especially starting with removing the carpet...

So this is the second time coming to this casinos buffet and the first time not the best not the worst. Food was okay, staff was not attentive. This time i came exactly at opening of the buffet and food was much better. The staff operating the entrance was on point and attentive. The waitresses not so much. My fiancee and my plates sat on the table the entire meal while the waitress is wiping down other tables. I had to ask for drink refills, no problem, except when, you have to ask additional times while she brought the table right next to us drinks and cleared their table in a timely matter. May had something to do with me and my fiancée being an interracial young couple, and the table next to us hosting older white couple. This is 2016!!!!! Wake up!!! Worst service ever. I am not one to jump to say anyone is prejudice but the last time was a very similar experience with another female white waitress. Thanks for nothing, but a flash back. The casino is great but not worth it with horrible customer service. FYI we were there for an hour, with plates sitting on the table. I came back with desert and she still hadnt remove the plates.

Whoa, were to start. Stopped in here because were were staying at the Ameristar for a few days & I had memories of the Trump/Majestic Star days 15 years ago or so. Walked in on level one, looks pretty much closed up, go up the escalator to the next level everything looks pretty abandoned still empty desks, dirty halls, dirty walls everythings just neglected and unkept looking. Starting to regret the decision to visit here, my husband and I exchange looks of doubt. We are dressed up, as we are celebrating My birthday, and look completely out of place next to the regular clientele wandering the long hall to the actual Casino entrance. As we finally reach what seems to be the entrance two female "security guards" approach us shaking their fingers & twisting their heads in an odd fashion shouting " First of all you cant just walk in here..." and we just turned to each other nodded and returned to our vehicle. We are WAY past 21, have kids older than that so there is no way they would have any reason to assume we were under age. Glad they scared us off, went to the Horseshoe it was lovely.

The worst boat I go to. The only reason I go to it is because its closest but I wont be going anymore. Card # 1130296 Ive played there at least once a week since JUNE 2014. Never win & if I do Ive paid 4 it, if I win $300 its because Ive spent $300. Never a good win & whats the point if Im winning the money I came with? Will b going to Blue Chip. They dont even let you hit a jackpot unless youve played the amount youre going to win. Dont go there its awful, will be telling all the people I know they should try Ameristar. The hotel rooms are awful & not worth going to unless you get them free. Food is awful not worth paying for that either, I get two free buffets a month and never use them. Your best bet is Ameristar, even if you dont win at least you can get a nice hotel room & good food for free. Their prizes are WACK, when theyre giving out money or free promo they call people who they know arent there, at least Ameristar or Blue Chip calls another person if that person isnt there. I dont even go to those events. Horrible boat DONT GO!

The food is decent at both their steak restaurant and there snack shack. Their desserts are not great though. They definitely come out of boxes. The janitorial staff is a bit rude though. If youre in there and they need to clean the place, they will ask you to hurry up. Because you can smoke on the boat, the air is hit and acrid. There is no where to step out for a moment to breathe, so you either just deal with it or leave the casino to sit outside where trains go and spew smog. The dealers are management staff are really nice. The dealers will tell you how to play the game if you dont know how, slot machines are self explanatory though. The main game there is Black Jack. Tons of tables for that and Baccarat has its own room. They have a table for Roulette and a table for Craps. Three tables are for Poker variations like Texas Holdem. Thats all in the main area. Everywhere else has slot machines for days. I prefer card games personally because you can somewhat predict an outcome.

A group of 14 of us drove 3 hours to this hotel. We all had confirmation numbers for rooms we booked ahead of time. Upon arriving, we were told that we get whatever room they give us, that our reservations are not for a specific room, but just a room. We had booked four NON SMOKING rooms and were given smelly smoking rooms. My sister has asthma and allergies to smoke. Three couples had to sleep with windows wide open and heaters running due to the smell of their rooms. The weekend manager said it is "first come first serve" at their hotel. We asked what good it does to make reservations then? He said it just reserves a room, it doesnt guarantee that you will get the kind of room you requested. Another couple reserved a King size non-smoking and was given a double bed set up, smoking room. We did not have the option to leave as two couples had booked through expedia and the hotel would not refund their money. We will never go back to this hotel again.
