If I could give 0 stars I would. People running the place are terrible. The venue was definitely oversold and the radio was saying tickets were still available, so it scares me to think how many more people they wanted to shove in there. When we walked in, the lawn area was so packed that if you walked up the stairs you werent going to get any further than the top of the stairs without pushing and shoving people and squeezing together like sardines in a can. We opted to stand behind the seating area, where many others were standing. Security came by a couple times to tell everyone we could not stand right up against the railing and had to leave a path. Throughout the first three songs of the set they walked by many times telling people to not stand by the railing which was fine and people moved. About four songs in they started telling people they had to move even further back. I asked one security where it would be acceptable to stand and he said up against the wall, so thats where we went. Once we got there a different security came over and told us we couldnt stand by the wall. I told him the other guy we just asked told us to stand here instead and he simply said, "no, he didnt," as if I made it up. So we decided to try going up to the lawn instead. Once we got up there we stood at the top of the steps leaving a path for people. Security told us to move back - but there was clearly no where to go. So we moved the one step back we could before being on top of the people behind us. He said no, you have to move further back. I again explained to him that there was clearly no way to move back and he said, "well you dont have to move all the way back just back." This obviously logically does not make any sense so we took a step over to the right and apparently that was acceptable and back enough for him... At one point when people started leaving early, he told those of us in the front to move back again. He said, "I know there "isnt any room" (actually making air quotes with his hands) but you all have to move back and if someone is behind push them. I dont care." - Very unprofessional and unsafe. While standing at the top of the stairs, the girl next to us was clearly overly intoxicated from more than just alcohol. Instead of helping the girl who was waving and looking like she was going to fall down the stairs at any minute, one of the security guards proceeded to try and hit on her and tell her, "I like how happy you are." She didnt hear him and he tried again with no success. At one point he walked away and I heard him asking the coworker next to him where the girl had gone. Im glad that was his biggest concern and not the giant fire hazard around him. Many people had been throwing their bottles and cups on the stairs as well, in addition to people spilling beer as they walked up the steps. This lead to many of the steps being quite slippery. Instead of helping people who fell down, they just laughed at the people once they got up and kicked cups and cans to the next set of adjacent steps for someone else to worry about. When the show was over there was no one directing traffic out of the lot. There was a girl standing at the exit holding her traffic directing wand, talking to her coworker next to her instead of directing traffic. We sat in the lot for an hour with nobody moving at all. Eventually enough cars had moved into various random places to form some sort of path that allowed us to drive up to the exact lane that fed into the exit to get out. Anyone in any other lane was not going to be moving any time soon.

This is the WORST VENUE to ever see a show! Absolutely terrible!! They claim they are "one of the largest venues" to see a concert. Get real! Youre tiny! There are thousands of venues around the country that are bigger and way way way better! I purchased third row tickets to Journey, Steve Miller Band & Tower of Power. It rained the night before and the morning of the show. Instead of getting a pump to get the water out of the seated area where it flooded (about the first 6 rows), which costs almost nothing (Ive done it at my own house) and takes just an hour or two, they CANCELLED THE SHOW!!!! Now they reschedule a show I paid 3x face value to a broker to go to in the 3rd row of the venue that was scheduled on a SATURDAY and they reschedule it to a WEDNESDAY!!! WEDNESDAY & SATURDAY are NOT equals!!!! Do they not realize that people drive from long distances to go to concerts! That people work on Wednesdays! That the show being on a SATURDAY is part of what people paid for to go to the show!!! FIRST MIDWEST BANK should pull their sponsorship of this venue because the venue is giving you a terrible terrible reputation! This venue also has ridiculously long lines for alcohol, if you want to get a beer in the middle of the show you will end up missing at least 5-6 songs. The ability to buy or even look at souveniers from the show is terrible! This should be an obvious fail for musicians and for fans because as a musician you will sell less merchandise strictly because no one wants to wait in line without even being able to see what is for sale! I will never buy a ticket to a show at this venue ever again and I recommend no one else do either! Its not worth the drive out there, its not worth the hassle with parking in their lot that takes over an hour to get out of if youre lucky, its not worth dealing with cops pulling people over left & right on your way out of the venue just to check to see if youre drunk at a concert to raise money for their little town. This is just overall terrible and with so many great concert opportunities in the city of chicago in other surrounding areas, I suggest avoiding Tinley Park Amphitheatre at all costs!! BOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

This venue is a decent one. Ive been here 4 times that I can remember for Blink-182, Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran and The 1975 (this trip). The lawn seats kind of suck, but you get what you pay for. If you do end up on the lawn, they at least have cameras and giant screens so the people in the back can watch the bands that way if they dont want to look at the ants on the stage. We were on the lawn when we went for Blink-182. A Day to Remember was also playing that show and people were up on the lawn pushing and shoving into each other, because thats absolute fun when a heavy band is playing, eh? One of these @$$hats shoved another one down the hill and they ended up bowling my girlfriend over as well. It had been raining, so she was soaked and she hurt was complaining of intense shoulder pain. Luckily, nothing came of it. While these guys were shoving each other around, the only security we saw was this skinny little girl who was probably in her early 20s, just standing there watching these guys shove into people. I dont think she was calling for help on her radio... I dont know if she was still there when my girlfriend was knocked down, but I wasnt too happy. This is why Im giving the venue 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, there is plenty of expensive beer and food to go around, as well as the typical long merchandise lines. If I recall correctly, the womens bathroom can get clogged as per usual at large events, and Ive seen women ducking into the mens bathroom twice to avoid the lines while Ive been there. Also as expected, the situation with getting out of the parking lot after the concert can be a huge cluster, so we always try to park near the exits and get to the car quickly so we dont have to sit and wait for people to let us into lines and spend hours just trying to get out of a dang parking lot. Cool place overall, but after having been on the lawn a few times, I am willing to pay more to get up closer to the stage. If youre looking for a relaxing night to chill with your friends and maybe even chat while the band plays, grab your picnic blanket and head for the lawn.
