I work in Joliet, and from time to time stop here on my way home to play a couple hours at the Craps table. The dealers are always friendly and nice to talk to. I tend to like it better than the Harrahs in Joliet because of smaller crowds and lower limit tables on weekdays. Sometimes Ill bring a few friends who dont know how to play, and the dealers are always very helpful towards them, and joke around and its really a fun time. Thats all a casino is supposed to be. A good time. Entertainment. Its not a bank. And if youre losing on a slot machine or table game, odds are, someone on the other side of the casino is winning. Its a Casino in Joliet, IL. You cant expect Vegas glitz and glamor. Slot machines are tight everywhere at any casino. Table games are, by nature, in the houses favor. Anyone that goes to a casino should realize that odds are, theyre going to lose some money. Friendly dealers, a relaxing atmosphere, and the chance to win a few bucks. I usually have a pretty good time when I go to the Empress.

Ive been to Rivers, Harrahs, Horseshoe, and Hollywood Casino. Hollywood is easily my favorite and not because Im only two miles away. Very reasonable prices on alcohol. Minimum bet at the tables is also reasonable. They usually have a decent band playing I never play the slots, but my dad does and he wins more there than anywhere else. Dealers are always very nice. And as for you guys who are stating that blackjack is not available mustve either missed the table predictions reason they just didnt have it there that night. Two reasons I didnt give it a full five stars is because whenever there is a major UFC or Boxing event they are too cheap to order it. Manager told me it cost too much money to order (bullshit). Second is because Texas Hold Em table always takes always takes hours to get on Friday and Saturday. Id like to say the worst casino is Rivers Casino. So expensive you might as well go to Vegas, bar has no where to sit, club is dead, and its so packed with slot machines you can barely move around.

Its a nice place, never really crowded. Have only eaten a burger there, cant really rate the food. Not a whole lot of table games there, but plenty of slots....easy to get on games there, not like at harrahs. Slots are a little tight if you bet minimum, slightly larger to max bets seem to pay the most. Theres always good parking, the crowd is never bad, even on the weekends, compared to other casinos in the area....overall its ok, obviously much better when youre winning just like anywhere else. If you want a little more laid back experience without feeling crowded in then this is your place. Update: we had the buffet here, was one of the worst Ive been to by a landslide. There was hardly any food out on display and what was out was absolutely old and visually not safe to eat. I highly advise this place to take example from hollywood auroras buffet. Joliet Epic was absolutely terrible, if it wasnt a free offer I would have complained to someone.

I used to play roulette here when it was the Empress. I hadnt played in a while, so I went back to play again. I took out $200, put on a suit and arrived about 4:00 PM on a Tuesday. They have 4 roulette tables, but only 1 was open. It was packed and there was no room to play. There were other people waiting for an open spot. I asked the pit boss if she was going to open another table, and she said that there were colors still available at this table, so no. She pointed out a small opening where I would have basically been on top of another woman to play, which I am sure neither one of us would have appreciated. I then told her I wouldnt be able to reach the whole table to bet and she said "Im sorry". I said I was sorry too, and took my money and left for good. If youre looking for a casino that treats its guests like they are doing them a favor by taking their money, this one is it. Enjoy the abuse.

If your smart, youll stay away. They will take your money faster than any other casino out there. The slots are so tight that everyone I talk to says the same thing " why do I ever come here! " I realize casinos are in business to make money, but $100.00 in a 2 cent slot at this casino will more than likely provide no more than 15-30 miniutes of entertainment at the most and winners are far and few between. Since this place reopened after the "unfortunate fire" its only goal is to part you from your money ASAP. And by the way, the staff has been reduced to such an extent that you will spent a ridiculous amount of time waiting for help at any of the cashier cages. The food is borderline and the rooms in the hotel, as they call it, as noisy and warm. Ours had pipes in the wall you could hear all night long. Save your money, go to a dinner and a movie and youll be miles ahead.

I am a celebrity card member for two years. I used to visit weekly. Then monthly but no more. I go to casinos across the country and know slots well. This place has changed and the slots just take your money now and cards are stacked against you bad. You can win but it is very rare now days. I used to visit weekly and spent 30,000 just last year here alone. Used to be a fun place. I dont mind losing in the end but I expect fair play and not to be ripped off by them changing the R.N.G. chip out on machines. I have seen this done several times. That will lose good customers that know the games. Beware and I do not recommend this place anymore. I know people will say its a casino. Just saying from my experience here compared to some others. This one has turned to one of the worse in my opinion. Good luck...

If an empress were to own the Empress casino, she would demand more. I stayed in their RV park for a week, and found it better than other places, but it has some minor needs to attend to. Good Marks for: Nice RV sites Clean Park Ample security Dog Friendly No noise Bad Marks for: Office staff not there at 10:30 AM to accept Check ins or check outs. Cable connection, but no cable available (staff just grinned when told of this) Mens room toilet seat very loose Shower curtain black from lack of proper mold abatement care by maintenance.. At $30 for 50amp and $27 30amp,and no sewer hookup, just a dump station, I would recommend it to someone wanting a nice place to stay, just know some imperfections exist.

I spent a whole week straight testing the video poker machines and they are all rigged. Trust me when I say that there all tampered with. The software is programmed to rarely hit when you max out and when you drop to one coin the whole sequence will change and youll get dealt the good cards and its obvious. DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE RNG (RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR) RESPONSE THEY GIVE YOU. Yes, its required by law that it must be random but they dont tell you that theres several mathematical ways they can use to fix certain cards to come up more likely than others. They can use up to eight decks when they shuffle instead of one deck and they can program the RNG to shuffle five cards repeatedly. BEWARE!!!!
