Very different feel from Disney Amusement parks. Getting in (to pick up our 14-day pre-paid passes) was a nightmare and we wasted a substantive part of our first morning - queuing for the Will Call Kiosks, battling with the Will Call Kiosks and then joining a very long queue with all the other people who had also failed in their efforts of the Will Call Kiosks. Paper tickets definitely not as good as Disneys Magicbands and we ended up by lanyards and ticket holders (oddly enough Universal sell these at a premium in the park shops). Universal also dont do Fastpass+ so you will need to pay more for your Express tickets if you want to get on some of the big rides. I never did get on Despicable Me which seemed to have a permanent 90min Standby time. Great for roller coasters. Hulk and Rip Ride Rockit are excellent. I really enjoyed both the dragons in Dragon Challenge at Hogsmede. (Soon to close!) Note - if you want to ride the Hogwarts Express (which is excellent) you will need a ticket that allows you to travel between the different parks - also ride it in both directions, the experience is different - making good use of projected views in both the compartment window and door. Diagon Alley is brilliant - my kids loved it (Ive visited the real one at the Leavesdon Studios outside London and in many ways the Universal Studios one is better) - actually being able to go into the shops is an experience - buying a wand from Olivanders for example (and then interacting with some of the magical places scattered around the area as well as eating in the Leaky Cauldron really does add to the experience). I found very few places to hide from the sun once inside - save, of course, the air conditioned shops! Plenty of on street entertainment - particularly enjoyed the Blues Brothers and places to eat - expect captive audience park prices though (although no worse than Disney in that respect). When we went - although wed paid for all three parks we never got in to Volcano Bay, it was usually full to capacity by the time it officially opened at 9am and people were being advised to arrive by 7.30am if they actually wanted to get in. Much less busy during the week than it was at the weekend.

We have always been a fan of Universal, unfortunately however I must say I am less than pleased. To be frank I will be persuing reparations for my last experience. First, your new security tried to forcefully detain me while taking pictures with my family on the walkway before security. I asked what the problem was and was instructed to hand over my phone to delete the pictures taken. I asked where "no photography" or similar was posted and was told IT WAS NOT but that I must step aside and speak to the supervisor. I complied and asked what the issue was, and am I being detained "no sir, please hand over your device so we may delete these photos". So I walked away. As I stated I was with my family, my mother, father and my son. We decided to go on E.T. Well the staff had other plans. As I made it through the initial attendant who directed us to the correct line and then through the travel pass attendant, my 3 year old son was starting to get cranky and upset. This was when the ride attendant stopped me to inform me that he cannot let us on because my son is visibly upset. Why that mattered was beyond me, so I asked to speak with a manager the manager informed me that he has to be visibly willing to go on the ride even against the parents wishes. As I asked my son why he didnt want to go he said "I dont know I just want (his grandparents)". I said to the manager that any ration person would realize this is how toddlers attempt to control a situation, and that "I dont know" from a 3 year old is not a valid reason to deter us from the ride. Heres the worrisome part, she decided to crouch to his level and ask him " why dont you come with me on the ride". Flag on the field lady, back off. At that point I picked up my son, took their names, left the ride and proceeded to call guest services. Twice we have been deterred from riding because my toddler was visibly upset, and if you are going to let the minor make the decision over the parents, then you should have asked the military or at the ticket counter if he wanted admission.

I can honestly say that Universal is one of the best parks out here in Florida. Disney is first while Universal is second. I only went there once for the END OF THE YEAR 8TH GRADE GRADUATION. It was super fun! That was in May 2016. The staff there was good but not better than Disneys staff. But I love the 3D rides, especially the Transformers 3D ride. It was fast action and it actually felt like I was really in a fast car. I felt like a hero at the end of the ride. I also love the food there. My favorite restaurant was Monster Cafe or whatever it was called. I am definitely sure it had something to do with "MONSTER" because the food there was ginormous! They were really big. I had fries and Burgers and cookies. I was surprised that my burger was HUGE! My fries were really LONG. And my cookies were like small sized pizzas! If you go into the Harry Potter world, you find a train you can go on to travel between places. It is like Disneys Monorail but much older feeling. The trains had windows but it did not allow you to see what was outside. Instead the windows on the trains were actually screens. The screens show you the outside world of Harry Potters world! It was super immense when you ride the train. Universal also have rides that allow you to interact such as shooting games. Men in Black is an example. You go in the ride and then you will see a shooter placed in front of you and a score indicator. You can compare your score next to a partner at the end of the ride. When the ride runs, you will find an atmosphere of ugly monsters in a city. You can shoot them to gain points! SO FUN!!! I want to go to Universal again because the rides there are fun and when you walk, you will never find a spot without fun nearby!!! The food there is super good too. I recommend that you go to Monster Cafe! I am not sure about the price in that place because we had free food tickets but just go there !!! You will be served large orders!

Not happy with the customer service of almost 80% of cast members, 1st room took 2 hours to be ready their aptitude in front desk is like "Hey I been waiting for 2 hours for the room what happen? They answer: I dont care(not express by then orally); 2nd the park was over the limit on my daughters birthday I ask security why and how long it will take and 5 security stands around me like I was a danger to them (I was with my two daughter and stroller) they threaten me as "we cannot answer that to you sir! Move out from this area! Ask the guys in a green shirt(Lol so funny this pupets), then the green shirt assistants place you in reservation that took 3 hours to get to the park even I told them my daughters birthday were that day, they of course didnt care either, 3rd getting into the park this security guy drop my box of personal items and scratch my carrera sunglasses and them move the conveyor against my feet(mtf), 4th, then inside the park you use this watch that is so useless because they control were you ride and when, they allow you to reserve only one? Please Disney have same thing but with 3 rides you can choose, 5th at the game room this guy attending at front, my daughter was asking him stuff he was on his phone texting, when I told him hey you should pay attention to her, this guy confront me and telling me my daughter was not ready because she ask too much how much something cost. I wont get back to this resort and water park ever! The park is great on infrastructure but personal and organization is whack, pupu caca, better choose Disney waterparks.
