This was my first time at any IMAX theater my husband (Angel Roque Ramos) decided to take me and went above and beyond and got the VIP tickets with the early entrance and all this other stuff bought the tickets and everything purchased I believe on the phone or on the Internet ahead of time. Days before he kept telling me of all the behind the scenes footage of how its all been redone since the last time he had been there. So was thoroughly excited as I love the movies like a stripper likes 20.00 dollar Bills and a fat kid loves Cake. We got there at the box office around 4:02 to 4:05 p.m. on Sunday August 13th 2017(08/13/2017). Not sure exactly what happened but for some reason the Young Man could not find the tickets in the system. My husband gave him a confirmation number that he had written down give him his drivers license(DL) gave him another number I believe from the Internet or something like that with the confirmation of the purchase. He repeated this process of giving these 3-4 pieces if information a few times. The young man got up left and then came back still nothing. Not till he enlisted the assistance of the young lady beside him I believe. From what I could see as I was standing off to the side beside my husband who I could see was pissed but held it together as he could see the guy was trying. We both work in the industry and know what it is to be on the other side of the counter and the Young man was not being rude. However after the young lady beside him helped figure out our dilema and showed him where to look to find the tickets in the system. While the Mic was still to his mouth he started explaining to her that he didnt know Thats where they are to look now or a suggestion of a change in procedure. As he realize he was speaking into the Mic quickly moved it away and finished explaining to the lady and then finished helping us. Then once more he asked for the DL and then printed it off gave it to us with an apology. Now the mood from excitement has changed to disappointment and me trying to passify my other half. By the time we left the box office we had only enough time to walk straight to the line and moments later go inside to find our seats. This ordeal took us a bit of part of 20 minutes to be able to get everything sorted out, while wasted time standing there watching people come and pay the regular price quickly get a ticket and leave. We didnt even have time to go and purchase concessions or whatever else that they would have liked in preparation or an anticipation for the movie. After we were seated my husband then left by himself to go buy food and drinks and then struggle as he figured out how to bring it all back into the theater as we both could not leave for fear of losing our seats? I mean what the point of being proactive and purchasing ahead of time and paying extra if your system is not easy for your staff to figure out. If it is easy to figure out then there in lacks an opportunity(ies) for training your staff OFF OUR time and experience. Not Fair. SIDE NOTE: THEATER WAS CLEAN, CORRECT TEMP AND AMAZING MOVIE, SOUND AND FACILITIES, Some thing to consider trying again minus the advance payment and VIP Experience.

Do not go to this horrible place. Ive never been to a theater anywhere with a "no refunds, no reason" policy. You would think that if a vendor couldnt provide the service they sold you, they would refund you. But general manager Theresa Waldron refused to refund us, even though there were no acceptable seats available. You pay the jacked up ticket price in a theater like this for the "IMAX Experience", but beware because Theresa Waldrons idea of the IMAX experience is for you to sit three feet from the screen looking straight up, while your wife sits in the back of the theater because there are no longer two seats available in which you can sit with your spouse. When I asked to speak with her, she tried to escort me away from the line so that she could continue to sell tickets to unknowing customers who would be put through the same horrible experience. I refused to move, which is when she got nasty. Ive never seen such inept and downright offensive behavior from management in any theater. You can go to any budget AMC, Cobb, Movieco and if you change your mind at the last minute you can get your money back quite easily. You can go to more expensive premium theaters with bar service like iPic and Cinebistro and get your money back or at the very least get a credit for a future movie, but Theresa Waldron thinks that the horrible service provided at Autonation IMAX is so superior that she can refuse refunds and not provide customers the theater experience they are paying good money for. I was so offended by her behavior and attitude that I told her that I would be filing a chargeback on my credit card, since I did not receive what I had paid for. She looked at me with a smirk and told me they would be disputing it. Unbelievable. As I walked out, stunned, she continued to yell at me and my wife, as additional customers made more non-refundable purchases. Whoever hired this woman should have their head examined. Dont ever give these idiots your credit card. Theyll screw you.

Any negative reviews of this theater are mostly people that see a movie that didnt pre-order tickets... OR they downright didnt do their research about when to see a film. I saw Dunkirk at the 4:25pm showing... no lines at all.... no waiting.... and there was plenty of seats. We actually arrived 5 minutes BEFORE it started. This place was very clean... I think part of the place was being renovated or something but that part was not a section of this amazing one of a kind theaters in Florida... let alone the entire United States. There are not many of these theaters PERIOD. Maybe some of the negative reviews are to ward of new customers...who knows. The only downside to this theater... there is only ONE! If I really wanted to pick out a negative about the theater would be that its not longer and there isnt more seats. The screen is so large I wish you could sit even further back so more people could get better seats because up close would be a nightmare. They do however have many seats at an angle but the screen has a slight curve to it so watching it on the side is not nearly as annoying as most theaters. Sound is unbelievable. No distortion... clean bass... excellent. Where else can you watch a LASER projected IMAX? The only way to see a movie.... The drinks and snacks are also 50% off compared to other theaters.

I have attended IMAX coast-to-coast and this is the only one I have ever had a problem with in any manner. Not just one problem but it seems management must be at fault when: 1. Phone service is pathetic A) disconnects you repeatedly after about 6 minutes of "HOLDING" waiting for new agent, over and over. B) In total of three days calling and three calls per day - never was able to talk to a single person. Recording after recording. Then dis-connection. C) Entirely too many and tiring comercials at high sound level - irritating and non-stop. 2. Engagement is over in only three days --- been calling since last Thursday. That is 4 days counting Sunday. Engagement will be over and many ticket sales will be lost and/or angry potential new customers of IMAX due to such small but important foibles. 3. Recordings are not organized or even sensical in order. WHY start giving movie times before caller can identify why he or she is calling? That is just one of multiple horse-before-the-cart skews in phone system. Seems at This autonation IMAX every aspect is skewed with (Pardon me) ignorance or at least lack of horse sense! Welcome to Fort Lauderdale.
