Ya know, they say the movie theater industry is dying a slow death at the hands of large screen TVs. At Bow Tie Cinemas in Norwalk, CT - its already dead. My wife and I attended a film last night - a Sunday evening on Memorial Day weekend. The film was not great, but that was the high-point. The volume was uncomfortably high for even the quiet dialogue - for action, many of the audience, including us, physically covered our ears. Then, about a half hour into the film, the Air Conditioning stopped. Memorial Day weekend - more than 100 people in a room, and NO ventilation. I estimate that by films end temperature inside the theater topped 85 degrees. I dont even want to open the can that be healthy? can-of-worms. Where was the staff? At one point, someone in a row behind ours went to complain about the HVAC (or lack thereof). He came back and whispered that they were checking. Well they clearly werent. At movies end I noted several sitting, talking, with their backs to the customers. I made a beeline for the manager - a sullen young woman who seemed more annoyed than customer-focused. She was quick to point out that she was only the "Assistant" manager and that only the "Manager" had the ability to adjust temperature in the theaters. Of course, during one of the busiest movie weekends of the year, the Manager was nowhere to be found. My wife then returned from the rest room, which by her description was a mess and lacked toilet paper - I guess the staffs engaging conversations were much more important than making sure the customer areas were clean. $37 got us the movie, popcorn, and water. At Bow Tie Cinemas, I guess proper volume settings, air conditioning (a comfortable environment), and toilet paper are extra. Our advice - Netflix.

The Regent 8 Theater has really stepped up their game! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pros: New Assigned seating makes sure seating is possible. New soft reclined seating with small tables, and new looking material can be seen through-out the theater too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cons: The Ticket area is a little too small; lines sometimes go through the door if full. The beverages area is a little too small too. BUT, I believe this is only a temporary issue; Due to construction. However, my only issue is the terrible sound quality of The Theater Room 2. = Should be Fixed.

Heres why this place is terrible -They never show any good premium movies that just came out. -They allow CRYING BABIES in rated R shooter films, thanks for enabling terrible parenting, should have left your baby in the car if you wanted to watch a movie. -The seats look and smell like someone are taco bell and farted it into the seat,while sweating. -overpriced food(as is with every cinema) -Picture quality in some rooms are horrible, nobody wants to watch a movie on a dirty display.

This is a smaller theater and nothing fancy. Average seats and screens, the obligatory popcorn and snacks, no arcade, and youll likely have to pay for parking. They share half the new releases with their nearby sister theater the Royale 6. It is a nice location though, in Sono so a short walk to most of Norwalks better restaurants and bars.

Let me start by saying that I used to dislike this theater but they are currently going through major renovations. They have installed all new seating. They now have reserved seating and all the seats recline and have swing away tray tables. This is the way to watch a movie! Lobe the new theater!

Out of date. Dirty bathrooms. Theater #2 has several speakers not functioning, and when I reported it, the staff did nothing. The seating is second rate and puts the screen much higher than the audience because theres a lack of incline in the seating arrangement

Larry the manager was extremely helpful!! I bought the wrong tickets- he swapped them- then we had an extra hour before the movie started - he offered to give us fresh popcorn when we returned. The new seats are AMAZING!! Love it!!

Out of date and the staff seemingly attends to the customers as if they were secondary to their jobs and their primary concern is texting and talking with each other. Its an ok theatre, just dont expect the staff to do much or care.

They are nice people but the condition of the theater and the quality of its projection system are very poor. Ive been going there for years and will keep going but they desperately need to upgrade the equipment and facility.

Enjoyed the new renovations thus far! The seats are comfortable. They recline and are plush! Had a problem with stale popcorn, but they gave me a full refund. Cant wait to see the completed renovations!

Excellent service! Manager (Rodrigo) and staff (Kristie) were very nice, made sure we were fine as we waited to go into our movie. Will definitely be returning here for future movies. 5 stars!

Its being renovated as of now. Its a really good theater with reserved seating. The seats are really nice and plush, which can recline with leg support. The screen quality is really good.

Their mobile site continuously drops you to the app store. Garbage site. Oblivious to customer needs. Drive somewhere else and see a movie At a theater that gives a damn.

The theater is merely mediocre. Many times the movies have started late. One time, they started the wrong movie, twice. The management do not really seem to care.

It was great!!! I love the crisp color of the screen, although most times the movie is very loud but u can talk to a staff member and they will fix it right away

Nothing special. They rarely the movies I want see. Didnt have Birth of a Nation. Didnt have I Am Not Your Negro. Not my favorite theatre in town. At all.

This theater is old. The screen rooms are small and so are the screens. The seats are not the best. The staff is usually helpful and nice though.

Cute small movie theater in the heart of SoNo. A bit expensive, but the experience was fun, and nearby restaurants often run events with them.
