Although we do go to the Elwood Quad sometimes today we went to go see the movie Sing and so we called to see if it was sold out and they said that it is open. We asked if we could buy our tickets online and they said no. Which is one bad thing about the Elwood Quad. They told us we have to buy our tickets in person at the theater, which was whatever, so we drove the the place and waited on line for nearly an hour. Now the Elwood Quad ALWAYS takes credit cards. So after waiting on an absurdly long line we finally got to the front. When we were AT THE DOOR they then told us that the machines were down and that you had to pay cash. Now during the 45 minutes we waited on line we could have run to the ATM. But they never told us that. Not to mention that when we got to the front of the line and we tried to buy our tickets they told us that there was only 3 tickets left. Now if they had any common sense whatsoever the Manager wouldve walked down the line and told the people that we were running out of tickets when there was only about 20 left. And the manager did not go out to tell the people that the movie was sold out until over 15 minutes after it was sold out. So we are now going to another theater where you can buy tickets online and is way better managed if you are thinking about going to the Elwood Quad I would recommend going to AMC theaters or Regal theaters. Ps the Elwood Quads seats are uncomfortable and dirty and Im not the only one who thinks so

Obviously paying Google to highlight good reviews. Lame. Everyone says "the theater has plenty of seats," that is because this theater sucks and no one goes there. The managers are very rude and act like security guards in cheap suits to the point that it is offensive and distracts from the movie(I am an adult, mature, quiet, good natured customer). I would have left if I had not already bought my ticket. They look you all over, check your stub on the way to the restroom, and although they interrupt the movie to check the theater, dont stop teenagers from talking. The general staff seemed helpful and that they understood their manager was on a power-trip. The seats are old and uncomfortable. I go to 10-15 movies in a year, and would rather go to a packed "amc maple ridge" or "walden galleria" theater any day, even the mckinley dollar theater has a more comfortable Seats and polite management. I went to see x-men apocalypse on opening/Memorial Day weekend and the parking lot was empty because no one wants to see a movie there. I work in marketing and know that if your theater is empty 36 hours after a blockbuster is released on Memorial Day weekend, its not them, its you. Prior to this I had gone to see "Selma" and assumed it was empty because the film is educational.

Hole in the wall mom & pop movie theater, but its quite the cozy place. Prices are better than other theaters and the local crowd is friendly. Just recently rediscovered it and will be coming here more often. Its almost like a personal private theater. Dont change anything and stay there forever, pleaaaaaase!!

Good theater with reasonable prices, especially with a Groupon. The only issue I have is they show a lot of kids movies at the expense of adult movies. Even with 4 theaters I sometimes have a hard time finding an appropriate movie. They are a family run place so I guess that explains why.

I went to see a movie here listed online (in several places) as showing at noon. When I arrived the theater was closed and a sign said it didnt open until 12:30. Several other people also arrived for the noon showing, so it wasnt just me. Be sure to call before you go!

This is the best theater with the friendliest staff! The Birthday parties are top notch and always fun! The theater is also very community oriented! Its an affordable family night which is nice as the movies have become a luxury thats hard to afford!

Elwood Cinemas has been around forever (not sure how long exactly, at least twenty years) and still has the best prices around. Pretty good theatre, cozy, and for their special deals on Tuesday and various others, you cant beat it.

I like that its kind of a small local theater and the price is far more reasonable than most theaters in the area. My one complaint is that they rarely start the movies at the listed times. Once recently it was 45 minutes late.

Clean, affordable, and staff is polite. Offer $5.50 matinees on most movies, and $4.50 on Tuesdays all day. Worth the visit. I would much rather support a small/local theatre than a larger one thats doing just fine.

great place cheap but most of the screens are off center and have crinkles if you want to see a movie in great quality go to deer park but if you want a cheap movie and do not care about quality go here

Comfortable small multiplex with friendly staff and great prices. We watched the Force Awakens there and it was great. You can rent the whole theater for birthday parties, which is great.

This place is small and cozy and their are great prices. The kids meal is a great deal and unlike many theaters this one gives out candy instead of fruit snacks in the kids meal.

A nice little theater, but the management has very little control over rowdy teenage crowds. Screens are well projected for the size. Decent prices.

Not the nicest place but cant beat the prices! Staff is great and for an old small theater, kept very clean. Prices to take care of families!

Good local theater with reasonable prices. Only downside is the mens restroom needs a good thorough cleaning (not sure about the womens).

It is my favorite local movie theater... It is an older building, but kept clean, at least they try.

Cheap and convenient but parking is terrible and the theaters are in need of an overhaul.

Good discount movies. Nothing can replace the Commack multiplex, but this comes close.
