OK.. here we go. This probably gets the highest review in Cripple Creek. They have some good.. and some bad. first, I am on a "slow" night.. so staff is very accessible and helpful. More than plenty of parking. Let me mention the Fireside grill employee, Rob, is beyond great. I just wish I had more tip money for him.. as he deserves it. Always smiling and desirous to help.. the floor manager is a doll.. so sweet and helpful. First name is Lois.. all I know. She had time so set me up with internet - one of the few places in town - and checked if availability for room at the inn. She was so kind and helpful. some comments I overheard was that many of the patron return to this one often as they feel very comfortable and share a "family" bond. Maybe its the underground parking.. lol. Benefits from the card is not as strong as it used to be.. but the hosts will go out of the way to work with you based on your usage. (they do have a $100 limit betting, which is the max.) Also rumored to have 98% payback on some of the slots, which seems to be excellent for Cripple Creek. In my opinion, this is the best of the casinos in Cripple Creek.. but i am not a big player. Dont expect to win.. but have fun and take advantage of the promotions.

First - the buffet. Its small for $20. Some crab is fresh, some is not. The salmon was excellent. The clam chowder had been sitting out too long, there were no plates, no soup cups (on various occasions guests had to ask for such from what I saw). The cheese cubes are basic and not cold, desserts are lacking, and the service is completely hit or miss. I sat at the bar, near where the servers go in and out of the kitchen. A lot of unprofessional discussions about difficult customers (or perceived as such), one server was under 18 and couldnt serve alcohol, and they make it seem that any help you need is a slight inconvenience. The food court - on another trip, I went to the burger area on the opposite end. Service was great, and food was good too. Casino - I like this casino - its cleaner and more what youd expect of a casino elsewhere. The hosts are nice as well. An early posts talks about no one winning there. I was there on Saturday and the guy next to me won $8.400, woman across from him $2,400, another guy across the way $1,600 and the lady behind me $1,500 all within about 5 minutes. They also kept announcing winners over the loudspeaker in excess of $1,200. People do win - just have to be on the right machine at the right time!

I have going up to cripple creek for many years.. I would say this is really the only place left in cripple creek that you can play slots and have alittle i mean alittle fun.. If you like to play skots i would say drive up to Blackhawk.. Blackhawk you can win and have a fun night.. Stay away from cripple creek the casinos have all went so down hill its not even fun to play slots. You would have more fun burning your moeny then playing slots in cripple creek.. If you do go just look at the pictures on the walls of all the winners they all are from years ago. Some will win here and there but not many and not for much.. I loved going to the creek years ago i would win and have alot of fun i mean i would win thousands.. NOT NO MORE.you will be lucky to win $200. I really felt if Colorado would look into the casinos in cripple creek they would see alot of fines going on.. Its really sad how bad they all have became.. I do not see cripple creek been around in the nexts few years. We voted for casinos not this sad ass stuff in cripple creek. I hope i saved someone and you went to BLACKHAWK.. HAVE FUN JUST DO NOT GO TO CRIPPLE CREEK...

It was my husbands first time in a casino & I hadnt been in like 8 years & that was in Vegas & all I did was slots. We went for drinks first & tried to ask questions since neither of us really knew what to do & they treated & acted like we were idiots & made us so uncomfortable I wanted to leave right away. We were both 33 but were treated like we were underage & trying to be sneaky about our age. It had been a long time since I gambled & I asked a question & she literally laughed & put me on the spot telling other workers what I asked. Back when I went you could play w/ actual change like for the penny or quarter slots & so I asked where the change maker was & they made me feel like an idiot. Were trying to figure out what to do & instead of the people that worked there helping us they laughed (no joke) & made us feel unwelcome & stupid. We did get free drinks while we played & the lady that brought them was very nice but everyone else not so much. We left after maybe 30mins, feeling out of place & we wont be going back..

Slots seem to pay out with more FREQUENCY than other casinos in town, and for that I encourage Wildwood to continue to keep their slots fairly loose because you WILL GET REPEAT BUSINESS. Other casinos in town are awful in this regard, they are very greedy, so I will keep going to Wildwood as long as the slots provide consistent bonuses and reasonable entertainment. Wonder 4 Tower slots are the best (dont get rid of these! Add more if you can!). Remember, if you provide loose slots people will keep playing, and keep coming back! Were not there to win, we are there for entertainment. The comp program is also much better than Midnight Rose / McGills. Customer service is good, and "vibe" is generally positive among the employees Ive encountered. However, there is a horrid smell that emanates from the restaurant -- a chemical / vomit type smell. They need to work on this. My clothes actually reek of it after I leave its so bad.

Lots of comps at this casino. We stayed at their hotel on the hill. Playing is fun. Slots are probably the loosest in town. We played all the casinos in town and this one was the best. Bronco Billys is 2nd best. Our entire weekend was comped back to us including our fuel to get here from the Western Slope of Colorado. Nice thing is you can use all your comps on this visit, not your next visit like some casinos do. Beside the gambling loss this weekend trip cost us $29. Staff are friendly. Cant remember the name of the restaurant at the north end of the casino but the $5.95 prime rib dinner is excellent. Do yourself a favor and ask about the comps. Really. The casino also owns the gas / convenience store across the street and that is how our fuel was comped. We will be returning in the future. Thank you to the staff and the Wildwood casino / hotel for a good time.

Our experience is that 3 different ocassions the buffet was closed down due to "the weathe3r", I am sorry that 2"of snow should close down your buffet, on Christmas Eve we ended eating at the other resteraunt in their establishment, food from the steemer then put on the grill and burned. I talked with the Manager on Duty and she didnt even let me finish a sentence without interupting me and just made excuses. It appears that if you are a high roller they treat you good, but if you drive over 150+ miles to spend time in their casino and enjoy a dinner you dont matter. So if you are not a regular dont go to this place. They have lost my business and my wifes as well, not to mention when the people that work with my wife ask which casino to go to in Cripple Creek, she will tell them of the 3 bad experiences and the way they treatpeople of COLOR.
