Ok let me start off by saying that I live on memorial Drive near Dairy Ashford and I had to drive for about 30 minutes to get there. After all the driving I found a parking spot very easily and went into the entrance, and keep in mind that the enterance was actually the malls enterance not the theaters... After you enter you have to walk for a little while to get to the actual theater and once you get there, in my case the second day of batman (The dark knight rises) (crowded) there are only to people in there that sell tickets although there is space for up to six only there were only 2 people in there. after you get the tickets you have to find the room which is very easy to find and the rooms are medium sized, like some of the standard rooms at Cinemark memorial city, not the big ones. The seats are not comfortable at all, the back doesnt move, the material is generaly very bad and not clean, full of popcorn and other crap. The whole room is dirty. Anyways moving on, I got a popcorn when we went there two days ago and my Stomach still hearts from then, the upper right part of my stomach hearts very much and I cant really touch it because of the pain, my brother was sick for a couple of hours after that also. Moving on to the movie, since Im kinda an Audiophile I really pay attention to the sound, the sound is much worse than the surround sound I have at home and the ones at CInemark and the bass is really muddy although the cheap speakers they used dont even generate any low frequencies and they dont sound very clear either and at some points during the movie it really made me wonder if it was surround at all! the Screen was a good sixed screen and had a very good quality although I still prefer cinemark. Overall this theater is UNCOMFORTABLE, DIRTY AND THE SOUND IS VERY BAD! If you have a Cinemark, Edwards or something like that go there, I hate this theater. So far my favorite in Houston is Cinemark memorial city, It has very good food amazing quality and the seats are very comfortable!

I love this theatre because its so simple. The seats are not numbered or reserved. Plus, theres three different ways to get tickets ( waiting in line, using the kiosks, or ordering online and scanning your phone ) so i never have to wait in line very long. Every time I come here I have a good experience. If I dont its usually because of other visitors are being loud, or something similar, not the fault of the staff. The employees are mostly high schoolers or young adults and are usually very nice and try their best to get you what you need. If they cant help you, a manager is always available to help. For pretty much any reason you can get a refund or a movie pass. The place is not the cleanest but its worth it for the cheap price. The movie and sound quality is just as good as an expensive theatre and I pay half the price. I think this theater doesnt have the best reviews because since the theater is cheap and at a mall, the kind of people that go, especially some of the teens, are inconsiderate and make a mess of the concession area. Dont let some spilled popcorn ruin your movie experience.

While it is true that AMC Katy Mills 20 is a rather ordinary theatre, unlike some of the palaces I have been to in LA, it is still a comfort zone for me. Why? because I can see two, sometimes three, movies while my wife goes shopping in the abundant retail shops in the mall and the food court has a good variety of foodstuffs. The theatres are always clean (Ive been in everyone of them), the popcorn never too old, the soda variety extensive, cold water just by asking, and clean restrooms. The restrooms dont sparkle, but they are clean enough to take a dump in (rather than hold it until you get home). There is always a movie to see (except foreign films), lots of PG stuff, and a scarcity of R movies. I know the movie makers make 70 to 90% of the ticket prices, so I always buy a popcorn (and sometimes a coke - I use their STUB frequent flyer membership card) to compensate for my sneak-ins. There is also a large movie theatre on the north side of I-10, but my wife can only shop in one store (Pennys). All in all, I get good value for my money. It makes me and my wife happy.

My friend and I had free movie tickets to any AMC theater, and since we were in town, we decided to try and go to this theater. Like most people, I wish I could rate this a little higher, but I cant for several reasons. First of all, yes, the staff are very good people, however, no one seems to really understand the etiquette of working at a movie theater. By that, I mean that most of the employees give me that look as if they are just here to make their minimum wage in order to buy off their moms car. The theater itself is cheap, Ill give it that. However, the theater is dirty, and most of the seats are worn out. The medium drink cups barely even fit in the arm rests. There are signs and posters all over the place about new recliner chairs, but I have yet to experience those. Overall, this theater isnt horrible regarding the price. However! The problem is, there is way better theaters out there!!! The cinemark XD right down the street is much cleaner and more efficient. The staff are friendly, the seats are comfortable, and the price is relatively cheap.

The only reason I continue to come to this theater is because its close to home and the tickets are cheap. I usually get off work before 10 so I go watch a 10pm or later showing, and they always close down the concessions. They may sell you a drink and popcorn but be wary because you wont be able to get a refill, they shut down the machines before the movie even starts. I really recommend eating before hand or bring your own snacks and drinks if youre going to a movie 10pm or later. Its cheaper and there is no reason they could stop you for it. Another criticism is that the closed captioning devices barely work and never sit in the cup holders right, and for some reason they never seem to have enough. Its unfortunate because my grandfather really loves the movies but its always an annoying experience because of this. Management is horrible and the kids working there tend to be pretty rude. So the only upside for me is the cheap tickets and distance. And the rewards program is great too.

This movie theatre has been recently remodeled with comfortable recliner seats plus now you can also purchase and reserve your seats online. Not entirely sure if all areas have been updated at this moment; restroom areas would greatly benefit from some revamping as well. Early birds are rewarded with great ticket pricing for their earliest screening times. Be prepared to pay should you decide to go at night. There is a bar area in the lobby that includes a TV screen should you want to grab a drink and catch how the game is going. I highly recommend joining their rewards program which include perks such as waived online convenience fees, free birthday popcorn plus rewards obtained from your purchases. Reward members also enjoy refills on sodas and popcorn. Facility is clean and crew is very friendly. Highly recommend as an affordable option as long as you go the right days at the right times.
