So apparently the AMC Santa Monica 7 theater has undergone an overhaul, and after experiencing it firsthand, I can say it is most definitely for the better. The seats are super comfortable, you can recline, and there is a LOT of leg room. Gone are the days of sucking up into the fetal position to let people by. My only niggle is that, while reclined, the bottom of the screen might be clipped a bit by the people in front of you if they arent also reclined. Not a big deal though as long as they arent jumping all around. Assigned seating is also a nice touch. From the seat selector map online, I wasnt sure which row would be the optimal viewing distance. I went with the 4th row, and it was about right. Next time, Ill probably go for 2nd or 3rd, but really, I feel like viewing would be good from any of the rows. Any farther away though would probably be too much which is likely why the back half of the theater is completely empty. Overall, it was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. I have become jaded toward AMC in the past, but this is a step in the right direction. Im docking a star for their continued practice of playing WAYYYYY too many trailers and stupid AMC commercials, but other than that, Im excited to come here again!

Oh Mon Dieu! Ce cinéma. Fat boy inclinable, possibilité de manger une pizza ou un hot dog, beurre pour les pop corn, boisson de 2L et presque personne dans les salles pendant la semaine. Du pur bonheur qui vous fera regretter à lui seul de retourner au Pathé ou au CGR en France!

It looks like its still being renovated. My friend and I saw Deadpool in the lower level Theater #1 and we could hear some of the noise from Theater #2 (nothing intelligible but just that loud sound that you hear when your speakers are kind of maxed out). The new red seats that recline and let you put your legs up are very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised because we went on a Saturday morning for $6.59 per ticket and the outside doesnt look very updated.

Compared to the other theaters in the LA area, this one really is the pits. Still, its located in a great area and the proximity to great food and drink is awesome. In the theater itself there are no stadium seats and be prepared to watch your movie obscured by a guy or gal. Also, the screen is very small compared to other modern theaters like the Regal at LA Live.

The AMC Santa Monica 7 has come a long way. The seats are much better, and they are working on the rest of the area. It is still a bummer sometimes because the entry way is still under construction. The biggest single issue here is the food. They still only have popcorn, nachos, and a few fried food picks. They really need to make better food available.

For how expensive theatres are these days, AMC should really be ashamed of their updates. Dont get me wrong, the seats are comfortable and the movie quality is good, but thats standard now. The entire place, however, is still old and dilapidated, and understaffed. Go to Landmark Theatres, iPic, or ArcLight.

As Ive said in another review, this place used to be mediocre. However, with the new seats, I rate it 10/10. Best, most comfortable theater experience I have ever had. I dont think Ill be going to the AMC in Century City anymore. With the new seats, this place beats everything nearby.

The Santa Monica location is great but the theater itself is tired. The staff is dry and not too friendly. They do have all the top movies. I would only come here if I already happen to be on the promenade and my friends and I get an urge for a movie.

We love their reclining seats! Nachos and Icee is always a must when at AMC... lets not forget the Popcorn. We love healthier foods but seriously at the movies all rules are out. What happens at AMC stays in AMC. Thnaks for the AMC experience!

It seems to me that this theater is slightly cheaper than AMC 15 in Century City. This place has sofas that recline with cup holders. There is also a bar and the staff allow you to bring drinks into the theater. I would definitely come back!

a friend of mine and I went here. The tickets were around $15, but we reclined (like a lazy boy chair) in comfort and watched in 3d. It was a stupid movie, but it was a nice theatre. Popcorn was good as always theatre popcorn is always good.

I like their comfort seats , good service , just dont like people asking you if you could scoot over just so they can sit with their friends , not right you get the seat that you get, so yeah LOVE the theater.

AMC is smart in renovating this place. Before, no one would go here despite the amazing location. Santa Monica now has really quality theaters with the addition of Arclight and the renovations of the AMC.

Recently went here and it was my first time since the remodel... Its so much better, I love it. I used to avoid this theatre, but they really upped their game. Its clean, and the seats recline. Bravo

Great place renovated not too long ago They have recliners and assigned seating, and a nice bar. People tend to be very friendly and helpful. Parking kinda sucks but everyone has to deal with it.

Love the seats! Super comfortable and soft and it reclines almost 180°! Even the seats in front are decent and doesnt give you a massive headache. Definitely one of the better theatres out there.

Love the recliner chairs in the theaters! Some of the theaters are really small, but you can reserve your seats online days in advance. The theater is clean and has a decent snack bar.

I moved San Mo two years ago and this theatre is awesome with the upgrades they did and the staff is friendly, the reclining seats are great! My fav. theatre now. Check it out!

COMFY SEATS! Pretty big theater. Loved the soft, cushion-y seats! Seems like barely anyone goes to this theater so it is roomy inside and out! Tons of parking too!

My local spot. Love the seats and never super busy. You can buy beer now. 1 star deducted as the over-prices snacks on offer suck. Go to nearby Trimana.

They are no longer able to bring new movies to this theatre because of their proximity to the Arclight. Such a shame, because i really loved this place.

Big upgrade. New recliner seats are great. Slightly obscured view while reclined, but overall, we now really enjoy going to the movies again.
