I had no intention of reviewing the "Q" but then I saw that it somehow had earned a 4.2 star rating.. Ratings may be untrustworthy and meaningless, but Qualcomm stadium having a 4.2 is indicative of actual fraud. Im serious here. Some-one call the cops or something because I believe this number was earned legally about as much as I believe the Chargers will finally start selling out this stadium any time soon. There is nothing about Qualcomm that deserves higher than two stars. Parking sucks, traffic control sucks, location sucks, food sucks less, seating sucks... I dont know where to even begin here..... How about the drainage issues and flooding that occurs after a rain of almost any kind? How about a speaker system and jumbotron that feel like Atari donations from a time when peope knew who that was? .... I could go on forever. 4.2 is a travesty beyond reckoning. Its this sham reviewing thats killing the industry. If the Chargers beat the Patriots and won the Superbowl IN San Diego (yeah, theyre both AFC teams, I know) and Chargers fans could finally hold their heads up and be recognized as actual football fans, and not just pretenders; Bolt fans would cry like babies in exaltation. Philip Rivers would be deified and forevermore be worshipped at the base of the San Diego River which would be renamed Philip River. Those fans would hoot and holler and rejoice and forgive everyone that ever said anything hurtful upon them. The prisons would be opened and punishments rescinded. Blacks, whites, hispanics, and jews would come together as one dignified human people. Love would reign supreme as it was always meant to. San Diegans would do all these things and more after winning the Superbowl. And after walking out of Qualcomm stadium, sated of heart and, empty of all ill-will, those San Diegans as they reached their vehicles would open their phones AND STILL RATE THEIR STADIUM ONE STAR!! Because even if youre deluded in every possible way; you still know that this stadium sucks. You know this. It may be the only objective truth you have, San Diego. Live it. Own it. #1starstadium -Justin

Today I went to Qualcomm Stadium to go check out the Chargers - Raiders game. This was my first time to a NFL game so I didn’t really know what to expect because it does not compare to basketball games and I have been to quite a few of those. We left Huntington Beach at 7am with a truck and toy hauler and we got down there at about 9am. The RV’s park in a special section so you have to get over to the right spot. There was a ton of traffic and we decided that the next time we would leave at 6am and get there a little bit earlier to avoid the line. It was not to bad and there were four of us in the truck so we managed to stay entertained. It cost 25 bucks to park the rig and we pulled into the rv area and set up camp. I’ll tell you what, this is the way to tailgate for sure! Having a tv there to watch the other games that were going on was the way to go. We had some games to keep us entertained and of course plenty of good BBQ and booze. I sat down close to the field which I thought was a good move but when I moved up a bit I realized that sitting right in the middle is the best place to be. The field is huge and you have to get up a little bit to see the whole thing. The game was fun to watch. It was not a high scoring game and most scoring was done by way of field goals and both teams played good defense so there was a lot of punting going on. It didn’t matter I was at my first NFL game and having a blast! I got a ride home with a few other guys in our party so we had to go to the other side of the field where the cars where. We bailed out with 4 minutes left and got a good jump on the traffic getting out of there. Great place to see a game and the weather was perfect!

We were fortunate enough, so I though, to score some free Chargers tickets to their first preseason game of the year. I hadnt been to the Stadium in a long time and this was only my 2nd time to a Charger game. The last time was at the old Balboa Stadium in the 60s. The first thing that annoyed us was the sound system. There was so much reverberation we couldnt understand most was what was being said. The view on the smallish older TV sets mounted above us were fuzzy and of little help. And we were were sitting in the Club Level, which is just above field level. The price listed on our tickets is $200.00. The Jumbo Tron screen , though clearer in view, wasnt much better since it is vastly undersized. It was like watching a twelve inch TV from across a normal sized room. And then theres the food, if you could call it that. The $12.50 cheese burger meal was in all sincerity , some of the worst food Ive ever eaten. The fries were cold, stale and overcooked. The burger itself was bland and tasteless. Theres no way in Heck Id pay the kind of money their asking to come and watch a game at this stadium, not even if the tickets were free. The stadium itself was clean and the seating comfortable as stadium seats go. And getting in and out of the Stadium itself is easy and quick. Getting out of the parking lot itself though is another experience, which isnt a positive one, so I hear. We didnt have any problems there though, since we took the trolly ! I really cant see a need to tear this stadium down though when , with just a few changes, it could be a pleasant experience.

Went to see the Chiefs-Chargers game on New Years day, seated midway in section 4 on floor level behind the Chiefs. The game was great (even though Chargers lost) but avoid floor level tickets too close to the field because once someone stands up on 3rd down/on a big play, the people behind them have to stand up too, and so-on because floor level seating are not enough inclined. This creates a "chain reaction" that forces everyone in the section to stand-up. Therefore, you have to repeatedly stand up and sit down, which can be troublesome for people with limitations. The poor lady sitting next to me with emphysema was exhausted from doing this, oh and a fight almost broke up two row in front of us because of this issue. Security had to come down to fix the problem between the two folks. Getting to the stadium and leaving the stadium is easy with highway 8 and 15 located right next to the stadium. Parking is costly though at 25$. The Green line light train is a good option (costing only 3$ if you use it to get to the game) if you want to avoid driving. This was maybe on the last Chargers game at San Diego, but we still had a great time even with the standing-up/sitting down issue. This stadium is quite old (built in 1967) and needs some refurbishing, or a new home for the Chargers.

It was my first visit to the USA back in June,2001 and my wife had booked seats for the Padres vs Oakland As game in the afternoon on June 14th.Our seats were just behind home plate......my wife paid a few bucks for those babies. We got there a tad late and the As were leading. In fact Oakland were up 4-2 when the great Tony Gwynn came to the plate with 2 guys on base in the bottom of the 8th innings and he was intentionally walked.I knew about Tony Gwynn from my wife being a Padres supporter and telling me about him back home in Australia.I was pretty bummed that they walked him on purpose to load the bases. However the next batter up...Im sure hes well known...I cant recall his name but he was a leftie....he belted a huge home run over the far left wall........a bloody grand slam.It was awesome. The Padres ended up winning the game 6-4 and I had seen the great Tony Gwynn play in my first ever visit to a baseball stadium.I believe Tony retired later in the year.God bless him!
