Being a corporate meeting planner in the medical device field, it takes a lot of time and research to find the perfect venue for a meeting. Most planners just book event space at a hotel, but I like to find unique places that attendees will remember. Rose Bowl Stadium is one of those unique places and is also a National Historic Landmark. Wolfgang Puck Catering and Legends Hospitality have teamed up with the Rose Bowl to provide restaurant-style experience with handcrafted seasonal menus and attentive, approachable hospitality. Our tasting tour began in the Terry Donahue Pavilion in the Loge Lounge. Here’s some possibilities to consider for your next event: • Cocktail Academy’s Strawberry Fix made with gin, lemon, strawberry, and club soda. • Appetizers: Scallop Crudo with passion and stone fruits; Crudités of white and purple cauliflower; Mini hot dogs. • Salads: Romaine Wedge Salad with ranch, bacon, and pickled red onion; Chinese Salad with napa cabbage, carrots, green onion, cashews, and crispy wonton strips. • Entrees: Hand-carved Tomahawk ribeye steak; Pork roulade; Yellow Corn Agnolotti with parmesan and shaved black truffle; Vegetarian Curry; Dim Sum cart with offerings like Shumai and Peking Duck Bao. • Sides: Roasted potatoes • Desserts: Angel Fruitcake with Fresh Berries; Strawberry Shortcake; Peach Turnover; Chocolate Mousse Our tour continued to the Court of Champions, underneath the iconic Rose Bowl marquee. Hit+Run can print custom t-shirt for your attendees in minutes. Picnic benches and stages can be setup in this space as well as a “summer clambake” of lobster, prawns, clams, stone crab, Dungeness crab, sausage, potatoes, and corn. To go along with the summer fun, you can have a summer-inspired dessert bar starring peaches: Peach Galettes, Peach Cream filled “Twinkies”, and Peach Cream Cakes. Peach-infused lemonade served in Ball Mason Jars are also a fun, refreshing way to celebrate. In the Locker Room, you can have a casino setup for fundraising or friendly competition during an event. Excitement always seems to be in the air when numbers are hit on the roulette wheel or rolled on the craps table. Winner! The Rose Gardens, next to the field, can be setup banquet style for dinners or wedding receptions with sweeping views of the stadium. Passed hors doeuvres and champagne can be served during the reception: Tuna Tartare encased in a sesame wafer and topped with tobiko and green onion; fresh shucked oysters by Oysters XO; and/or mini lobster rolls on squid ink bread. The field can also be setup for corporate events with team-building activities that can inspire competitiveness, communication, and teamwork within your organization.

The place is graced by its setting -- which is frankly spectacular and the best in all of college footballs bowl games. Theres a reason why its the Grand-Daddy bowl game, and that reason isnt only its age. Its the setting. The Arroyo Seco canyon provides the most immediate backdrop, behind the press box side of the stadium, the west side that is mostly in shadows during day games, such as the Rose Bowl Game itself. The golf course surrounding the stadium quickly gives way, a couple of miles away, to the sparklingly gorgeous San Gabriel Mountains, majestic, rambling and fantastic. The entirety of the setting is beautiful and enduring. The stadium is an old facility, an historic one. The concessions are all outside the stadium building itself, and the seats are old school bench seats. But there are no bad seats in this shallow sloped bowl -- every seat, every bench, is a great seat, affording a great view. I have been privileged to be in the Rose Bowl twice -- the first time to watch Stanford beat UCLA (this is UCLAs home stadium in the Pac-12) in 1986, while the second time was to watch Stanford win the Rose Bowl Game over Wisconsin in 2013. The stadium hasnt changed that much -- surely upgraded here and there, but the ambience, which is largely conditioned by the setting, is enduring, special and spectacular. This is college footballs ultimate palace.

Went for a metallica concert on July 29, 2017. Getting in was a pain, 30 minutes to park and arrived at 3:30pm ( doors 4:30, show 6pm ). As a football fan I did appreciate the stadium. However seats ( bleachers ) can get annoying for a 5hr concert. The whole show was just perfect and I did leave early with wife to beat traffic leaving. Im sorry but highly recommended, since concert ends at 11pm, getting out would of been a nightmare according to other comments.I just cant really complain as far as service and the concert itself. Research, come prepared and make a game plan like I did. Patience is 100% required as I parked on the golf course and walked a good distance. ( $40 parking minimum, $80 for close parking) enjoy the history and prepare your self, expectations shouldnt be high for parking, seating, and time. advice---(PLEASE BRING SOMETHING TO SIT ON IF ON BLEACHERS, THEY ARE UNCOMFORTABLE!!)

I always wanted to see U2 in concert and when I heard they were redoing the Joshua Tree Tour again I had to go. So first we got there early traffic was not bad at all, second we had paid for preferred parking ahead of time just in case but parking was super easy we asked for directions and we were only two gates over and parking was super easy nice grassy area, since it was our first time at the Rose Bowl we asked the young lady at the gate where we park for more information about getting into the stadium to where we can get food and where the restrooms were, she was super nice and very very helpful. Inside the show was amazing everything and more than what I expected. Now when we were leaving we did wait in the car for a bit for traffic to clear up. Over all wonderful experience.

I attended the U2 Concert May 21, 2017 and because I had been to the Rose Bowl in October of 2009 for the U2 360 Tour I knew pretty much what to expect. We were directed well by parking attendants who guided us to an area most close to our entry gate for the concert. I knew getting out would take at least 2 hours so we planned ahead with an SUV, blankets, pillows, snacks and just waited it out. Staff was helpful and the people were friendly and our visit to the Rose Bowl went very well. Just expect a delay in entering, exiting, and parking at this venue when attending a large or sold out event. Plan ahead for comfort and snacks if youve got kids (or in my case myself and three teenagers) and expect to walk quite a bit so wear comfortable shoes.

Beautiful venue, gorgeous mountains, pretty homes surrounding the property. Horrible parking process. We missed a pre-game barbecue @ $95 per person, and kick-off after sitting in traffic for 3 hours down in the canyon around the Bowl (not even outside the neighborhood), while lanes kept changing and buses drove by, barricades were moved back and forth, no first come first serve priority, just luck. Horrible situation. Pitch black dark after the game, as there were only generator lights here and there. We got lost trying to find our car in the acres of darkness and nobody around to help. They need shuttle buses from nearby towns, badly! SF 49ers games have great shuttle buses. Rose Bowl could learn something.

Ive had many occasions to visit lately due to my bfs obsession with UCLA football, but Id been here before for various non-sporting events as well and Ive found it to be a good venue overall. Hard to believe how old it is but management seems to have kept things in good working order. Also, kudos for their first aid office, which has plenty of free sunscreen if you need it! I usually dont have to wait too long for the ladies room, either. If you see a crazy line, just walk a little ways down and youre bound to find one thats not as crowded. Plenty of food vendors everywhere at sporting events. Parking and getting in and out of the stadium can be a bear but Ive seen worse--it just goes with the territory.
