Overall a great experience...Course is very reasonably priced...small bucket of balls $3.00, large bucket is $6... They have free yardage books and greens divot repair tools. A six pack of good beer was $18 and a good Dominican cigar was $3. Im a single handicapper (+8) I Played here in early April 2015, The greens were all rolling very true, fairways were in good shape and the course was not very difficult in general. We played the back tees and the course is long, even longer since there was a 20-30 MPH wind all day, but quality shots get rewarded and bad get penalized. Not a lot of OB, but enough well placed bunkers and water create a challenge for even the good golfers. A lot of wide open fairways, that allow for the driver to be hit on almost every par 4, and a few challenging par 3s with carries and elevation changes. There was a grass driving range, and a small practice chipping and sand area just before the first tee. Since it was early in the season I can see this course getting more difficult once the tall grass grows up and the rough gets a little longer. Overall I give it a 4 out of 5 and i would definitely return.
I have played half of the courses on the Audubon golf trail, and this is my least favorite by far. For a 60$ course, they dont seem to have the amenities that they should. The course itself wasnt in horrible condition, but it was not consistent with the other courses on the Audubon trail. Two of the greens had large areas filled with sand. For the most part, however, the fairways were in good shape and the greens were well kept. I think was put me off the most about this course was how unprofessional the pro-shop was. This is a tourist attraction, a part of the Louisiana State golf trail, and the employees in the pro shop did not make me want to ever come back. There was one guy who was particularly grumpy, and spewed profanities unnecessarily. He was rude and very unwelcoming. The lady in the shop with him was cussing about how there were five guys in a grouping and she was not happy with that so she got in a cart to chase them down and change it. Overall if you can keep to yourself and dont mind some grumpy good ol boys then this is not a bad course, but if possible, I would drive an hour extra and play Atchafalaya or The Island.
The course is in decent condition; however, not to the caliber of their prices. That is about the only near positive thing I have to say. Due to its close proximity to me, I have played here quite a few times. Its common knowledge amongst all of my family and friends that Wetlands has by faaaar the rudest staff any of us have come across. They treat you like garbage. I would say 1/10 employees dont have a chip on their shoulder. Its a shame because the owner seems nice. I would recommend avoiding this course until they remedy this ongoing problem. Oh and sometimes the rangers will sit behind your every shot, for a number of holes, even while your maintaining an under 4 hour pace.
Aberdeen High School Class of 77 would recommend Wetlands to anybody. The best REUNION ever. Beth rocked it. Food was excellent. Staff was on point. Table linens were way more than I expected. If you need a venue for any event, you would be a fool not to come here. Coming back at 45. Thank you Beth, and Robin the kids and everyone. 10 stars. God bless you all.
TERRIBLE. The course was in OK shape. I played in the afternoon on a weekend and there was no one on the course. The superintendent followed me around and turned on the sprinkler heads while I was playing. He did that a few times and then yelled at me for driving on the grass to avoid getting wet. He ruined my experience there and I will not be going back
5/9/15 Played 18 We had a 4 some- played under 4hrs. Course descent shape, greens rolled good - fast Had a original problem with T times and Cost.(golfNow) Manager and Staff did a great job clearing everything up! I made the mistake and they still took care of it!! Will definitely go back again because of the the way the treated us!!! Brian Kelly
Played course 4/19/2014. Course was in great shape and very challenging. Course layout was interesting with some unique holes. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were well maintained. $46 was a fair price for this course and I would recommend it.
Rangers are Jerks every single time I come out to play. I play this course once a week or every other in the evening and they ruin the experience every time. I will take my business down the street to Ruggles from now on.
30 bucks on a Thursday afternoon at 2pm for a quality course. The par 3s are short but the par 4s are challenging. Greens were true and reasonable speed. I enjoyed my 3 hour round on a course that wasnt crammed.
Friendliest staff I have met all year. A bit of a hike to get there so I only played a couple times in 2015. Course generally in good shape.
Course is in outstanding shape. The greens are great. Challenging course but fun to play. Outstanding knowledgeable, friendly staff.
Course in very good shape despite the rain last night. All staff excellent. No slowdowns on the course. I would come back for sure.
AWESOME, the course has improved 200% I shot my best round ever and the fairways are so much better !!!! Well be back !!!
Great place. Parking is limited and there is no craft beer. Most places carry craft beer. This one does not.
Pretty good golf course. Would be much better if the sand traps had sand in them . Pleasant staff.
Great course. Beautiful landscape. A lot of old retired assholes but other than that good.
Nice course, but seems the greens fees vary based on who is working the register :(
Great value! New leadership focusing on golfers having a great experience.
Not a bad course for the money. Usually in pretty good shape.
Course was dry all 3 times I was there
Great so far...let you know later...
Great greens and fairways
Name says it all
Love this course
